A role in ONE PIECE world, when someone uses a devil fruit power, they will mention it's name. Also, there are different scales of power, ranging from people with no power to others with crazy powers. These crazy powers don't have to be due to a devil's fruit. Shanks is one of those who have no devil fruit power. Regarding his left arm, it was "eaten" by the sea king monster.
The Live action condenses a lot of stuff that's why their friendship feels a bit too fast , the anime builds up the characters more before they join so it makes more sense.
Yo the kids' grandma is Filipino? That's pretty cool. Hope you guys are enjoying it. Without spoiling, just wanna reiterate what Buggy said, seawater is basically the kryptonite of every devil fruit user. So the irony of having a devil fruit as a pirate at sea is pretty cool. Thats why Luffy cant swim. He said this at.his little boat on ep. 1. Buggy got affected by this when the water tank exploded as we see them weakly crawling. Ps shanks can swim
@@brotaku8619 To be fair, while Shanks was shown to have swam in the manga/anime, he appears to have taken a different boat in the live action. The boat used by the guy who kidnapped Luffy had oarlocks that sat on top of the gunwales, while the boat Shanks was in had oarlocks recessed into the gunwales. So, definitely a different boat.
The sea beast bit Shanks arm off when you saw it lunge forward. The only reason it didn’t explicitly show it is because it’s overly and graphically gruesome to show a man’s arm being chomped off by an animal.
Exactly! I've noticed a few One Piece first-timers make the same assumption that it was somehow a result of whatever Shanks did to make the Sea Beast leave. The fact that the arm is just sort of gone, with only a little bit of blood showing, does leave it a little bit unclear as to what specifically happened.
The map for one piece is confusing the way it's shown here. First, you have north blue, east blue, south blue, west blue. The north pole would be in the center of north blue, so the red line and grand line form more of an X than a + if you orient the planet for north and south. Also, alongside the grand line is an area of water that cannot be crossed without certain technology. Basically an area of no wind/currents where those sea beasts use as a breeding ground. It runs on both sides of the grand line, there is only 1 way in without proper tech.
Shancks in the anime with their crew have no fruit, but they are still among the most broken. Repeat again the scene of Shancks the sea animal if it ate its arm when Shancks crubriated Luffy
Shanks doesn’t have Devil Fruit powers. Some characters are just strong and have certainly abilities because of all the training and fighting they’ve done in their lives. Love your reactions btw!
@@3rdstreetreactionsbest way to view what shanks did, right now, was that he had an old fashioned stare down and flexed a little of his power as a show of force. He got to the boat swimming though, no df. But yes, water = kryptonite for all df users. More rules to it, but for the LA, any seawater can be used to disable or even stun a df user. Outside that, just know that normal non df powered humans can range from a normal human level of strength, all the way up to low dbz power ranges (Raditz-Nappa range I'd say, but I don't get into power scaling much).
So, everyone always explains how devil fruit eaters get affected by sea water but no one really explains how severe it is and to what extent, whenever a devil fruit eater gets submerged in sea water from maybe three fingers below their knees they'll feel the weakening effect, its very much like an extreme and sudden exhaustion more than a paralysis, but it depends on the quantity of it how much they are affected, rain doesn't affect them but a good splash of water will for a few seconds, enough to get attacked, just like buggy crawling when the tank broke and water splashed on him but he was able to get up and regain strength quickly, unlike luffy who needed just a bit more time to do the same since he was completely submerged 😊 great reaction btw, can't wait to see more!
Excellent observation! I think it's always stated that it specifically has to be SEA water, too; so, rain wouldn't be a problem, nor would a glass of drinking water.
You see shanks got attacked by the sea beast before he said "get lost" right? If shanks power mechanism like that, shanks should be doesnt exist at this point because he already dead. Everytime he used his power in battle he lost some of his bodyparts? Nah.. He is a pirate.
In the manga and anime, shanks is in the water when the sea beast bites his arm off to show viewers he doesnt have a devils fruit. Sea water makes devil fruit users sink like stone Their is a whole theory on why he let the sea beast do that but that's for another rainy day.
most of the time the characters or the story itself will tell you if they have a devil fruit, so if none of them said they have a devil fruit in this story, then they don't have it. like how Buggy and Luffy reveal they have a Dvil fruit immediately. so Shanks and other people who might be powerful won't have it unless said. they are just naturally strong
Shanks doesn’t have a devil fruit If a character uses a devil fruit then it will be mentioned almost immediately. There are some abilities like speed and walking on air that can be learned by anyone and not devil fruits

Shank is not a devil fruit eater...but he has great fighting power and the power of haki (haki is another power that will not be discussed in this season). and that's why the shank won't weaken if exposed to sea water... and in the future luffy will also be able to use haki too, but not now
I don't know how you didn't understand, but the sea monster ate his arm .... you can actually see it I think if you pay attention... Also Shanks was able to swim to save Luffy or at least that's what it looked like and devil fruit eaters can't swim so yeah..
@@Style50360 bro I meant the action of eating his arm.. or biting it off. It's unclear but that is what's clearly implied both here and in the anime/manga.
To be fair, it's really easy to miss. I read the manga, so I knew what was coming, and I still couldn't see it happening the first time I watched this episode. They worked really hard to hide the reveal of what happened until after the Sea Beast swims away, when Luffy first notices the missing arm.
Shanks power didn't take his arm he got bit you can rewind and see when the monster snaps at them in the boat. Also the most important part of the Weakness is that's why he can't swim the ocean swallows you up when you Eat a Devil fruit.

Probably for the same reason the manga hadn't explained it yet at this point in the story: because that is as-of-yet-unrevealed information. We're not even to the Grand Line yet; any details regarding how to get there are an absolute spoiler at this point. The only thing we know so far is that you need a map to get there.
@@gorevarix4036 That's extremely fair. I don't think they were planning to go into it until the next season, though. I remember back when I first started following this series. A lot of characters would talk about "going to the Grand Line", but there was a whole lot of mystery surrounding how to get there or what it's like there. It was a really neat feeling, learning about the Calm Belt (and other stuff) for the first time, as I was reading/watching the original series. I'd get a little thrill every time I'd learn a little bit more about this weird, piratey One Piece world. It'd be a shame to take some of that joy of discovery away from new viewers by mentioning things that the show has not yet revealed.
All devil fruit users have the same weakness, Sea water. Some people are just strong. Also there are only a few places where you can enter the grand line most are controlled by the marines and are over land. You cant sail into it because the water around it cant be sailed and is full of sea beasts like the one in this episode. Kinda like a no mans land. Only special boats that dont require wind could attempt it.
23:07 Lord of the Coast Sea King lunges and successfully takes a bite out of Shanks. 3rd Street Reactions : " I Think when Shanks uses his power. It randomly takes away a limb." 😄
32:20 so theres a japanese word for this, thats used often in these kinds of shows, and very much used in One Piece: nakama. The people in a group you trust unequivocally regardless if you like them or not. Most of the future crew like each other, but there are some rough dynamics that are like "yall should be killing each other"
Well in this world some pirates can be good but they still pirates so they should be persecuted by the marines that work like Goverment’s law enforcement, but It is more complicated than that🤣
The LA doesn’t explain the world map well but on either side of the Grand Line are strips of ocean called the Calm Belt, there is no wind there so you can’t sail across it AND it’s full of sea beasts like the one that bit off Shanks’ arm. The map they stole shows the only safe access point to the Grand Line from their home in the East Blue.
General rule about Devil Fruits. If someone has a Devil Fruit Power, they'll mention what it is. Some people in this world are either naturally strong, or they have some 'other abilities' without actually having eaten a DF. Also Shanks lost his arm to the Sea King. It's hard to catch, but you can see it happen when the scene is zoomed out before Shanks does the thing with his eyes.
29:08 It doesn’t affect their powers. It just saps their strength so they can’t swim. It’s a weakness that *every* person with devil fruit powers has. Shanks doesn’t have that weakness because his power doesn’t come from a devil fruit.
If you watch the scene with the flashback when Shanks saves Luffy it cuts away but when it shows the next frame you see something dark flying into the water that was when the god of the coast seabeast bit his arm off before he had time to react since he was shielding Luffy. At least that's what I assume they meant for the audience to assume.
I don't think the live adaptation will cover this so lemme say it, Shanks could have wiped that sea monster with just one of his Finger BUT he chose NOT TO, This is Him saying, I'm betting on you Luffy. This Exact act was performed by The Pirate King when he said those final Words which ignited The Great Pirate Era. He bet everything including His Life to the Future Pirates because somone NEEDS TO FIND ONE PIECE TO SET THE STAGE......
Woah woah woah, that's a pretty big spoiler! Why on Earth would the adaptation not go into that?? Not during the first season, sure; but there will be many more seasons to come.
Not every powerful character in One Piece has a Devil Fruit. You have already met 5 of them, Roger, Garp, Shanks, Zoro, and Bogard (the guy dressed like a 1920s detective that’s always with Garp). You will meet a few more in the live action, and most of the characters that don’t have Devil Fruits also don’t really NEED them👌
None of those have a devil fruit💀 Roger had really strong haki I forgot which I think all 3 same as garp, shanks uses conquers haki, in the future Zoro learns harding haki, in terms of bogard I do not know since it's mainly mentioned in manga

One Piece fans are "spoiled" in the other sense of the word. The anime leaves in a lot of the detail & while that isn't the best approach for an adaptation - it's very, VERY true to the manga - which you can't really say for most anime adaptations. "Spoiled children." I am very sorry that they've been giving away details that could've been found out otherwise
The sea water not only nullifies the powers but they take away the users strength so if they’re left to do it then they’ll drown on there own. Not really elaborated on in the LIVE ACTION. Also y’all should consider trying the anime out when y’all are done. Japanese of course.
Did he really watch the anime? How did he not know that Shanks can swim (confirming that he didn't eat any devil fruit) and lost his hand to a sea king
OK, I admit that it wasn't very clear that Shanks lost his arm in the first bite of the monster, but I can't understand why so many people think that losing his arm is a result of him using his powers. I understand considering the possibility, but I don't understand it being the first option that comes to mind, when a monster literally took almost half the boat with one bite seconds ago.

Why nobody mapped out the whole globe so far (that we know of?) Well, this isnt earth, its a planet with more like the suns size, and it has no innner static magnetism, but only a weak magnetism that links from Island to Island. A compass wont point north, only in the direction of the nearest island if u store the magnetism on the last island long enough, and the wind and seasons are constantly changing from island to island in the grand line. Thats why the grandline is so mysterious.

Live action is so good for new audience ❤
Yo the kids' grandma is Filipino? That's pretty cool. Hope you guys are enjoying it.
Without spoiling, just wanna reiterate what Buggy said, seawater is basically the kryptonite of every devil fruit user. So the irony of having a devil fruit as a pirate at sea is pretty cool. Thats why Luffy cant swim. He said this at.his little boat on ep. 1. Buggy got affected by this when the water tank exploded as we see them weakly crawling.
Ps shanks can swim
Yessss Filipino family on my end! And thank you :)
@@3rdstreetreactions cool beans kababayan
30:26 They can't just go to the Grand Line because of something called the Calm Belt. Maybe season 2 they'll mention the Calm Belt.
I think Shanks just lost his arm from the fish biting him, I don't think he lost it from using his power, whatever it may be.
^ this is true
True.
Not outing your son for watching Highschool DxD! LMAO!
Lmao I got to
Shancks in the anime with their crew have no fruit, but they are still among the most broken. Repeat again the scene of Shancks the sea animal if it ate its arm when Shancks crubriated Luffy
Man You look young to be their Father
Shanks doesn’t have Devil Fruit powers. Some characters are just strong and have certainly abilities because of all the training and fighting they’ve done in their lives. Love your reactions btw!
Thanks!
In manga and anime this is very clear because he is in the water when saves Luffy and devil fruit users cant swim.
Why are you spoiling? ffs...
@@ProbieKnox : Hnstly, pipz shoudve just let them assume. No point in telling them now, wouldv made for a great reveal later.
So far Im enjoying this show again I never seen the anime 🤘
Oh snap, that's Shane of Blind 🌊
The map needs to be tilted 90 degreesto make sense so the north blue, south, east, and west blues are on the respective cardinal direction.
You're of Filipino descent?cool. You know, pretty much of the Onepiece anime is done here in the Philippines by Filipino artists/animators
If you pay attention you'll see that the "Sea Beast" bites Shanks' arm. He gets in the way of the bite to protect Luffy.
In the manga and anime, shanks is in the water when the sea beast bites his arm off to show viewers he doesnt have a devils fruit. Sea water makes devil fruit users sink like stone
Their is a whole theory on why he let the sea beast do that but that's for another rainy day.
most of the time the characters or the story itself will tell you if they have a devil fruit, so if none of them said they have a devil fruit in this story, then they don't have it. like how Buggy and Luffy reveal they have a Dvil fruit immediately. so Shanks and other people who might be powerful won't have it unless said. they are just naturally strong
can't wait for more. there is so much lore
Shanks doesn’t have a devil fruit
If a character uses a devil fruit then it will be mentioned almost immediately. There are some abilities like speed and walking on air that can be learned by anyone and not devil fruits
his power is chop chop, not regenerate, he only can disassemble and reassemble his body so there's no way he can regrow his body parts...

This is so cool. I’m Filipino and my wife who is Polish/Dutch is soon to give birth to our first child (daughter). I just hope that one day she would want to do reaction videos with me just like this.
Hey, congrats on the first born! It’s always nice when I hear from fellow Filipinos.
Now I can't unsee Shanks as Poor Man Ryan Gosling. He really looks like him.
Thank you!
@@3rdstreetreactions No problem, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
@@sham00ly75 If the sea monster ate his arm, how did you see it? That logic does not follow my man.

The arm was bitten off..Shanks did use a type of power that is revealed much later in the story..in the 300's +..
a little fun easter egg you might have missed 15:33 was when buggy punch luffy and knocked him unconcience right before luffy fell to the ground buggy flips him off.
They dont explain it in the LA for some reason, but there's a calm belt on each side of the grand line.
Probably for the same reason the manga hadn't explained it yet at this point in the story: because that is as-of-yet-unrevealed information. We're not even to the Grand Line yet; any details regarding how to get there are an absolute spoiler at this point. The only thing we know so far is that you need a map to get there.
@@sharkrancher282 well I simply answered why they cant just sail straight down. But yes, HOW to get there is still the mystery.
@@gorevarix4036; Ah, so only a half-spoiler, then.
@@sharkrancher282 well he DID ask..its not explained well.
Shanks could be the strongest alive to use that “power” which drove sea-king away.
A lot of the things you have questions for should be explained as the series progresses.
23:07
Lord of the Coast Sea King lunges and successfully takes a bite out of Shanks.
3rd Street Reactions : " I Think when Shanks uses his power. It randomly takes away a limb."
😄
You guys need to rewatch this. You all had so many questions that were answered during this episode. Rewatch and I might subscribe.
This show gets better and better
32:20 so theres a japanese word for this, thats used often in these kinds of shows, and very much used in One Piece: nakama. The people in a group you trust unequivocally regardless if you like them or not. Most of the future crew like each other, but there are some rough dynamics that are like "yall should be killing each other"
Shanks had no devil fruit. Shanks is aquaman. Loved your reactions!
Bro called out his son first shot with the Highschool DxD!🤣
I don't want to be that guy but this is definitely fair use.
i was wondering how to spell one piece as peice or piece. crap i dont have autocorrect. oh wait i can check the video title. and there it is! 😂
You will meet a few more in the live action, and most of the characters that don’t have Devil Fruits also don’t really NEED them👌
None of those have a devil fruit💀 Roger had really strong haki I forgot which I think all 3 same as garp, shanks uses conquers haki, in the future Zoro learns harding haki, in terms of bogard I do not know since it's mainly mentioned in manga

when you use that power it randomly takes a limb.....????? WTF?
No, the monster simply ate his arm.
One Piece fans are "spoiled" in the other sense of the word. The anime leaves in a lot of the detail & while that isn't the best approach for an adaptation - it's very, VERY true to the manga - which you can't really say for most anime adaptations. "Spoiled children."
I am very sorry that they've been giving away details that could've been found out otherwise

In the anime the sea beast was terrified of shanks after shanks used his powers

The nails are the best in the one piece

You are underestimating the size of the One Piece world. That is not earth. OP is in a huge world with hundreds of islands. Is not as easy as you think to navigate.

All Devil Fruit users are affected by sea water..the sea water weakens them and they cannot swim or float in it..if a Devil-Fruit user dies at sea the fruit will spawn in the nearest fruit.
