Italy has been having a drop in new cases for a few weeks now, yet their daily death toll is not falling under 500.

Nyc is a city where people from all parts of the world visit. There was a delay in controlling the crowd where the disease, by then had covered a larger area effecting many localities. So sad to see this happen to a city, the city which never sleeps. Stay strong. Stay home. Stay safe.

Usually the person quarentened or their insurance. Idk how NY is doing it I'm not from there,but that's how it usually goes.
I'm American. I'm not sure who pays for the quarantined. It's probably usually the same for every hospital visit. Your insurance pays and you pay the deductible. If you don't have insurance, the hospital give you a big bill. You pay until you pay it off or you go into debt or bankrupt.

I lost my dad back in November to dementia,I feel that lady. I’ve thrown myself into making masks because he was a good man and I want to honor him by helping others but also forget he’s gone.
my father was hospitalized in Mount Sinai hospital in Astoria, queens but eventually, the hospital collapsed because of a lack of supplies. My mother wasn't allowed to go into the hospital so my dad was in there alone and had trouble breathing because there wasn't enough ventilators everywhere. Eventually, my dad got transferred to Central Park where there are tents for people who contracted corona and he was there for about 3 days. Again alone. He's better now and back home but looking back at this virus we have never been more separated yet closer and it's such a severe event what we're going through and we all have to do our part. My eternal respect goes out to the first responders and everyone who has contributed to the frontlines. Take care
