Honestly I like both intros. The new intro is sick but the old one feels like home. Reminds me of when I was living in Phoenix. These rod (and reel) deep dives are my favorite videos tho. Thanks for the great content Ben! 🍻
After watching this video I got a Windbuster from yall and I freaking love this rod once I got use to how to hold it. I would add paring this rod with a super light reel is paramount. The sensitivity jumped through the roof when I went for a reel than weighted 7.2 oz to a reel that is 5.4oz
I bought one and love it. You are spot on and honest about the rod Ben. I still prefer my 872S NRX + due to the reel seat comfort and sensitivity. I do feel the Windbuster has the versatility but that reel seat kinda sucks. Orochi reel seat on that rod would be sick!
The Baby Plugging is my preferred rod for slamming river smallies. Perfect tip for throwing ned rigs and okashira screw heads. Super sensitive and the perfect length for both rivers and large bodies. Bought one for both my wife and I.
Been wanting to add this to my arsenal for awhile now. No doubt it will be the next rod I pick up. Got away from spinning rods for awhile and last year I rediscovered a love for them
Amazing rod! Fish it with the 3000 Exist and it’s an amazing combo. Great for tubes, flukes and shaky heads. Also great for free rig (even if I prefer free rigging on a bait caster). It’s also an amazing rod for the hopping a finesse swinm bait, that feeling when the bait is free falling is AMAZING!
Got my first windbuster this year from you guys. I have been beyond thankful for the recommendation! This rod kicks ass. I can not believe the sensitivity in this rod! Thank you for all the info guys! Watching your videos give me food for thought! Thank you
Great review! I am definitely thinking about getting a Windbuster to add to my P5 collection to throw larger tubes, grubs and craw patterns for river Smallies in the Susqehanna, New River and upper Potomac. I already own the whippet and the baby plugging models and love both of them for finesse smallmouth stuff for the creeks and rivers that I fish in PA, MD and VA!
Great run down on the Windbuster! If you can't get comfortable with the short grip of the Windbuster, I suggest the ST. Croix Legend Tournament Bass "2022 version" Swimingbaits baits" rod as an alternative. It's a great alternative!
I think you put me on the windbuster in October/November 2021, and it has easily far surpassed all my other rods in terms of fish caught. The bend on that thing is insane. Edit: if I were to change 1 thing on the windbuster, I’d make it a 7’3” and add 1” behind the handle
Had to go back and look if this was a new video when I saw the intro. Lol I gotta get one. Spinning isn't really my jam but sometimes it's unavoidable, so may as well have the best. Who knows, maybe I'd enjoy spinning more with it.
Just got windbuster from you guys love the rod. Been using Almight sinking braid 11lb test but keep breaking of during casting. Wondering what lb test you all run on your Windbuster. Thanks
Your many videos on the Windbuster convinced me, so I picked one up last time you guys had a few before they rapidly sold out. I’ll put it through the paces this weekend, but right away I can say it’s a little tip heavy. Maybe that’s due to the shorter butt section? Great videos as usual, so thank you for those!
Thanks for the video! Would love a deep dive or more info on the Megabass Triza Ageha. How does it compare to the Windbuster & what reel & line setups work well. Which baits or techniques is it best suited for. I’m looking for one Spinning Rod to add to bait casting arsenal.
I got a Berkeley lighting on clearance at Wally World for like $20 7ft 1 piece medium….not a MegaBass obviously but it’s a kick ass Rod and especially for the dirt cheap price I paid.
Best spinning rod I have had, paired it with a Shimano Exsence and it’s a dream to fish with. The grip fits me perfect too, I have two fingers in front and two behind and it’s super comfy and sensitive.
Off topic question but what are your thoughts on the FMJ as a magdraft freestyle rod or do you think that would be to much weight for it to handle? Thank you for all your info. I look forward to your videos it would be great if you all put one out every day
IMHO, GLoomis NRX lineup and it's not close. Specifically the 852S as the best all around spinning rod that does everything and does everything well. And the 821 NRR for Ned Rigging. Add to it, the NRX lineup simply has that moxxy, that panache. You see those beautiful soft blue wraps and you just know that whoever is fishing that stick is fishing with quality. If Ric Flair fished, he would fish an NRX.
I agree and prefer the 872s, since the tip is a tad softer for throwing lighter baits. The Windbuster's biggest flaws are it's more tip heavy, the terrible grip, and warranty compared to the NRX+.
Maybe its just me but for some reason the nrx and even the conquest has always looked too plain for me lol. I know cosmetics don't really play a role in fishing but I'm willing to sacrifice a small bit of performance for that bling. I would love a arms rod if they wasn't so expensive despite being inferior to a nrx.
Im fishing walleye , shore fishing , I’m using 3/4 to 1 0z jig , the deep is around 20 to 40 feet like Detroit River . What best megabass will do the job thats very light weight for jigging whole day. (Spinning rod) Thanks .
"This rod wants to throw 1/2 - 5/8 oz" Can't overemphasize this statement. I had the Windbuster and it felt like a broomstick with baits at around 11g. I was hoping for something like an ML+ spinning rod but I think its definetly on the M+/MH turf already. It should have an F4.5 rating, don't know why this would be rated for 1/4 oz. This rod does nothing below 14g. Actually, what I was promised in the Windbuster, the Triza Ageha did a whole lot better.
Can I get in touch with customer service please, I’ve been trying to get connected through email and calling but no response. Hopefully someone sees this that can help. I placed order and I think there was a mistake…
For 500$ that thing better give e me a reach around with every fish caught! These prices are stupid expensive! At 46 years old I remember expensive rods being $50 now they're $500!
Wrong ... the best spinning rod ever is the most expensive rod you can ever purchase simple as that, so it very subjective topic regards to that question
Funny Guy, The thickness ** of the "Thread on The wrap of The Guides" is a Weight Factor ?? Ssrious ?? Maybe if it was made of "LEAD" other than that Me thinks Not. 50 Year Rod Builder**

Throw back intro! Can we get a deep dive on the baby plugging 🔥
For sure
Great idea because I was debating to get it or something cheaper to throw that dice. Sell me on the BP lol
Picked one up a few weeks ago and ready to use it mates with an Exist. Freaking rain and cold weather will not quit foiling getting out on the water.

Were gonna deep dive (for the 26th time) on why we love this rod 🤣😂🤣😂 I bought this rod so i HAVE to watch this! Love ya Ben!
Just incase you forgot 😜🍻

That’s my next P5 ! I have a few but not the BP

Is there a reason why?
@@freddyj5845probably just personal preference when it comes to casting.
I just placed an order for one of these rods , can’t wait until it gets here !!!

LOOOOOOVE IT! And 100% bought because of your glowing review.

what reel did you attach to it?
@@brianjoe1425 I put on a 3000 Daiwa Tatula MQ LT. tried to use a little heavier reel to balance it out.
It’s meant to be tip heavy it is designed that way
@@joeys7519 I get it: "it's designed to be imbalanced" - lol

What's about Evergreen Kaleido,Orion,Fact Heracles,Phase and Light Calavary Spinningrodmodells same price our higher and Made in Japan!

How do you like the Exsense I just paired mine to whipsnake
Love the reel, originally had it on a st. Croix legend x and then moved it to the windbuster
What size is your reel?
Felt nice to see the old intro lol
Off topic question but what are your thoughts on the FMJ as a magdraft freestyle rod or do you think that would be to much weight for it to handle? Thank you for all your info. I look forward to your videos it would be great if you all put one out every day
Nice Review, but this is a little out of my price range, digging my 7’ Daiwa Tatula right now👍

Hot glue 3 dimes in the but cap fits beautifully roughly 1/4 oz counter weight
Great rod but i think the G loomis 872s NRX+ is better! The Wind Buster needs reel seat like the Orochi, hate the handle/reel seat in the Wind Buster!
I'm with you Mark. I have one of each. If the Windbuster had an Orochi reel seat this would be a toss up.
872 are expensive

Going to pick this rod up because of you all lol. Pair it with the Exist!
Ill take the Steez ags, the one, 7 6 MML if i can only have one high end spinning rod for everything.
How's drop shooting with that rod? I've been doing some digging and want to try something different than shimano or Gloomis.
@Bay_32 I use it for almost everything. It's a little light for heavier weights but i think it can do 3/8 oz easily for ds.
Great vid, thanks for info
But Ben, have you NED RIGGED with it yet? I know you guys love the Ned Rig and it's awesome at that too! 😆
Berkley lightning rod...lol those were great when i was 17 in the 80 s.
can you do a megabass destroyer killer code review?
" Ben talks (about)" 😟😲
is that the start of a New Era??
🤘😎🤘which will bring you to 100k 😅😅
How would this rod work as a neko rig or weightless wacky rig application?
What would you recommend ( Rod) for drop shot. 6 to 8 lb. Test?
Which size reel dou you recommend, the one you did put on looks to me like 4000 am I correct?
G loomis Nrx 872s done
Ben, I'm siding with Geoff on this one 😆😆!! But dammit I like you guys so I'm pressing play.
This is my next rod.
Any problems with connection knots going through them guides?
What reel and size would you recommend for the rod?
Great information Ben. Bassmd
How is it balanced with the Exist?
Man lots of hater’s. Thanks Ben!
I wanted to like this one but it was too tip heavy for me. It strained my wrist as well. Back to nrx
Would it be good for chatter bait?

Unpopular opinion.... the orochi looks better! The bass don't care... but I can't help it. 😂
Other than the super destroyer and madbull, i agree! The braillist was my first rod.
ETA on some trizas?
I have to win at the casino and drink less Orion to get this rod 🙂

I prefer the old intro. Both need to be shortened up a bit though.
Is there such a thing as the best rod??
I thought ya were gonna stop talking about the windbuster lmao
Wrong ... the best spinning rod ever is the most expensive rod you can ever purchase simple as that, so it very subjective topic regards to that question
why did we go back to the old intro
Ben was out of money 😂😂
Just seeing if you’re paying attention
TOO MUCH MONEY!
