  • How to Build a Hog Wire Fence - It's been a bit since we built this and want to share our 18 month review with you!
We get a ton of interaction about our garden fence we thought it was time to shoot a video and talk about the overall design and build of this simple hog wire fence. We built this fence about 18 months ago (before RUclips) and wrote an article with instructions on how to build it for under $300. Today with lumber prices through the roof, I'm sure it costs quite a bit more to build. In this video, we show you the basics on how to build it yourself plus how it has held up in the elements over the past year and a half.

Our Liberty House is a gardening lifestyle channel. Lucas & Beth live in Zone 9b, Sacramento, CA, (with their dog, Liberty!) and garden in 6 raised beds in our backyard garden. Together, we garden year-round and share what we are growing and what we are learning along the way. Our gardening strategy is to create a garden full of diversity. We intermix vegetables, flowers, and herbs to create an ecosystem where beneficial insects thrive. We avoid all pesticides and instead plant things that will take care of pests for us. We compost and try to live a sustainable life where we can 'eat what we grow' from our backyard garden. Thanks for joining us on our journey!

I've watched a ton of videos of how to build a simple fence like this one and your videos are the first that explained everything clearly because I am not that savvy diy wise and I think I'm ready to try this. Thank you for your great videos.

Such a great video, thank you! I need to build a new, small, garden fence and couldn’t figure out if I needed concrete. This was so helpful!

Thank you! Concrete definitely has its place but for a fence with no wind load I don’t think it’s necessary

Great video man, i just did this last weekend and this helped me. i did the posts just like you with no concrete. I bought a bag of those "heavy duty" staples that you have to hammer in, but they require so much force and hammering, that i could feel the posts were going to become unstable...so i ended up using a staple gun as you did....

Thanks for watching! And good to know about the heavy duty staples. Hope you enjoy the fence and it works out well!
