    A truly wonderful and fascinating testimony of Ed. Fudge's life journey - who is walking in God's way, truth and life. I share many ideas and beliefs with E.F. and Psalm 71 seems to say it all and falls into line with many passages in the Gospels and N\T. Thanks for this video. Peace to all.

      thanks Joe. it is a remarkable story. Hollywood made a movie based upon Edward's life titled "Hell and Mr, Fudge". it is widely available and a few places streamed for free. This is a good supplement to the movie to see where they took artistic license such as combining two friends Joe and Mark into one person. both Joe and Mark have cameo roles in the movie as well as Edward and Sara Fay Fudge.

    I have been without a fellowship for over two years. If I could find a man like Mr. Fudge I believe I could receive from such a man. "We have thousands of instructors in Christ but not many fathers" Oh that God would raise them up for such a time as this.

      I know your feeling well. Unfortunately Edward passed right after Thanksgiving last year. I had spent many years wishing for such fellowship as that which I had immediately with Edward when we first met and every other time we had together for nearly 12 years. Finding men of his caliber is very difficult. Edward was a Jesus thinker and put Him as the answer to many questions raised about Christianity or traditions held by christian groups. He is sorely missed but was wanting desperately to come to rest because his illnesses were preventing him of accomplishing things he wanted yet to do. His last book may eventually be published but he could not finish it himself. it was on Eschatology. Edward was more than ready to await resurrection in peace and no pain. If I can be of any help for you to find fellowship just let me know there is an email for business listed on my page under about for you to contact me. RUclips stopped Private Messages recently so email is the only way to communicate privately. I miss that feature they said it was not being used much.

      Oh by the way this story was turned into a Hollywood Movie titled Hell and Mr. Fudge. It showed how he had difficulty finding fellowship himself. it is available on DVD and streamable. Personally I would go DVD because it is worth seeing many more times than once.

    "they will suffer everything they need to suffer then will be gone" (Fudge)... Death is the penalty for our sin; not torment in fire. There is no torment for the lost. It's 2nd death (gone). The death that destroys our existence. The death that puts us out of the presence of God. If torment in fire is the penalty to be paid for our sin, then Christ would have suffered that. He died. He also became the first fruit of those who will rise from the grave bodily. No person will be kept alive to suffer torment in the Lake of Fire.

    I got an opportunity to meet brother fudge back in early 2000’s at Pepperdine University ‘ this teaching seemed strange to me back then’ after preaching on the streets for over 25years I have changed my views on this topic- main reason no scripture based reasoning that fallen man has immortality / no one is able to show me from scripture that GOD gives immortality to the wicked so that he can continue punishing them throughout eternity 😢 would be nice if DR James White of Alpha and Omega ministries would debate Chris date .

      Good for you. It was the issue of whether or not man had an Immortal soul that was the breakthrough for Edward. This is covered in the Hollywood Movie about Edward's life and research project "Hell and Mr Fudge"
      Edward did not expect people to change their view immediately. In fact he preferred they not. He just wanted to introduce biblical ideas to get them thinking while studying the Bible.
      Yes Chris Date is well grounded. I remember Chris interviewing Edward three or four times. He kept saying he was leaning toward Edward's view a little more each time but still on the fence. He finally embraced it after about 3 years or so. Chris and all the founders of Rethinking Hell are excellent on the subject.

    He truly is a Bible student. I am wondering why he did not search the Bible for the truth about the Sabbath. The Bible says that the seventh day is the sabbath. MAN charged the day to the first. The Bible does not speak of this change. God has people in all denominations but it does not change the truth.

    • @fleetwd1
      @fleetwd1  4 года назад +5

      He discussed this with me, because he had many SDA asking him to write a similar Book on this subject. He was never given a burden from God to do so. He once had a dream. In that dream he asked EGW if he could keep the 7th day Sabbath and still gather with his church family on Sunday. the answer was "Yes, there is nothing wrong with that." However we are told in Scripture the Sabbath should never be something to judge one another over. Some SDA seem to ignore that principle. Edward was a man of principle and had a sensitive conscious he desired to do God's will. This is why he taught so well on the gospel of God's grace toward all. SDA that appreciate him would do well to do the same.

      your comment seems to suggest Edward was negligent on his study of this subject. He wrote several times in his gracEmail on the subject you may go to his website to see for yourself by searching Sabbath. Here is one such:
      A gracEmail subscriber asks when the early church quit observing the Sabbath (Saturday) and began observing Sunday? This reader mentions Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1ff and Revelation 1:10 as relevant passages on this topic.
      * * *
      God commanded Israel at Mount Sinai to observe the Sabbath (Saturday) as a rest day, in remembrance of their liberation from slavery, to commemorate God’s own seventh-day rest during Creation week, as a symbol of trust in God’s provision, and as an act of kindness for humans and their work animals alike (Ex. 16:22ff; 20:8-11; Deut. 5:12-15). The Jewish Sabbath was a day of rest - not a day of public worship. When first-century Jews accepted Jesus as Messiah, they continued to observe the Sabbath as they had always done. The Sabbath was never given to non-Jews (“Gentiles”), and the New Testament does not designate any “holy day” for Gentile followers of Christ. Some Christians through the centuries have called Sunday “the Christian Sabbath,” but the Bible never uses that kind of language.
      The narrative passage Acts 20:7 mentions some believers gathering on their first day of the week “to break bread.” We cannot know for certain whether that meant a common meal or the Lord’s Supper, or perhaps both. Nor can we know from 1 Corinthians 16:1ff whether the Corinthians met every Sunday for corporate worship or set aside a special offering at home. Christians generally consider Sunday to be “the Lord’s day” mentioned in Revelation 1:10, although Seventh-day Adventists and several smaller groups consider Saturday (the Sabbath) to be “the Lord’s day.” We do know that by the second century, non-Jewish followers of Jesus were gathering on Sundays for public worship and mutual encouragement in commemoration of Jesus’ resurrection on the first day of the week, and perhaps also because the first Christian Pentecost had fallen on that day. Gentile believers have found a blessing in regular Sunday worship for nearly 1,900 years since.
      Under gospel principles, the particular day on which one honors God is not of primary importance (Rom. 14:5ff). It does matter, however, if one observes any day with a thought of earning God’s favor - a motive contrary to the gospel of grace (Gal. 4:8-11). We should rejoice in God’s presence seven days a week, and we may worship him any time the Spirit moves us to do so. And, although God never bound the Sabbath on Gentiles, there is nothing that says that only Jews can enjoy a rest day when Saturday rolls around!

    • @GoodCitizen.1
      @GoodCitizen.1 2 года назад

      He never teaches that the Sabbath isn't Saturday... Just because people attend Sunday service doesn't mean they neglect the Sabbath. Not to mention we are not saved in any way, shape or form by keeping the Sabbath.
      Also the Sabbath was not a day of worship and it was never commanded to be a day of worship.. It was a day of rest. Christians met on Sunday for fellowship all throughout the New Testament.

    Wonderful testimony...a note, though. If the supernatural gifts of the Spirit were still in operation today, it would not be a matter of debate, for it would be obvious. Those gifts were for a special purpose as the Old Covenant Age was passing away in the 1st Century. They were fully done upon the destruction of Jerusaelm and the Temple. I get pretty worked up over people insisting the gifts are for today because it gives people false hope and lends to less consistent, faithful living. Amongst the churches who insist they're still continuing, you can see some of the worst false teachers and sinful living.

    • @fleetwd1
      @fleetwd1  4 месяца назад

      @@JR-rs5qs what you relate is true. However Scripture itself records in the last days false manifestations of gifts will occur. That they do is not a reason to neglect genuine manifestations. The gifts are to be evident until the end of this present evil age. The genuine gospel will come while false manifestations abound. The genuine gospel will go forth with angelic power contrasting with the false manifestations of gifts representing the dragon and the beast. It is called the false prophet. The demonic is a false trinity. The beast is given a deadly wound but revives. He represents Christ. He is Antichrist. The false prophet is false manifestations of spiritual gifts. They appear to bring fire down from heaven. This is anti-Pentacost. While Pentecost was a signal of the old covenant fulfillment ushering in a heart change toward God’s instruction given to Moses on Mount Sinai. This is why it coincides with this event 50 days after the first Passover. But there is no suggestion that the genuine gift’s cease. Edward once believed in the cessation of gifts. He even wrote a book on this. But before the book sold God convicted him of genuine gifts continuing. Edward tossed all the unsold books into a dumpster. Edward is one of those proclaiming the genuine gospel with angelic power. He is better known for his teaching of Conditional Immortality which is biblically accurate but Edward’s gospel message is the best part of his teaching and should not be ignored. I did not mention the other falsity of the demonic trinity the Dragon. He is the anti-Father. While the word trinity is never used in Scripture the principle is there clearly represented. You never counterfeit that which has no true equivalent. The counterfeit demonic trinity in Revelation is the best example of the true. The presence of the false prophet is a sign the true prophetic voice is also present. We should not ignore it. This true gospel counters the false gospel being proclaimed by the false prophet. The end is near. Embrace and proclaim the genuine gospel and realize the power of the Spirit behind the proclamation of it. It has angelic power even as Revelation 14 depicts it. It is a gospel message that judges the world as it is proclaimed.
      Thanks for your comment I hope we clarified Edward’s understanding of present gifts. They are not for show and tell but they are real. Edward demonstrated having them in his ministry and since his passing they continue to affect people as those who had the former rain. Edward was part of the later rain which is meant to help prepare the way of Christ’s return. Belief in the gospel is the key.

      @fleetwd1 the last days mentioned in the NT always and only refer to end of THAT current evil age: the Old Covenant Age. They do not refer to our current age, which is the New Covenant/Messianic Age. Christ's Parousia was in the exact timing and nature that He said it would be: at the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, the vindication of the 1st Century martyrs, the destruction of the 'holy people(the Jews), the raising of OT saints from Hades/Sheol to Heaven, etc. The story of our post Old Covenant Age is one where righteousness is dwelling. Everything, especially the growth of belief in Christ, is growing bigger and better. Per Isa 65&66 and Rev 21&22, the New Heavens and New Earth are not an existence where there's no sin and physical death because babies are still being born, people are still physically dying, the unregenerate are still being consumed in the LOF. The NH&NE are where there THE Sin has been overcome and THE Death (spiritual death that saw everyone previously go to Sheol/Hades) has been made impotent. We need to live in light of Christ's completed work instead of inventing eschatologies that are all ultimately defeatist (even postmillennialism!).

      @fleetwd1 I do understand yours because I came out of it. I'm saying that position is incorrect. My postmill comment wasn't in relation to your position. I was just commenting on it because it is claimed by postmillennialists to be the optimistic eschatological view. It's not; it's another pessimistic viewpoint based on the inability to consistently handle the time indicators, audience relevance, and nature. The worst of everything is in our past.

    • @fleetwd1

      @@JR-rs5qs you describe well the purpose of the former rain. However before the return there is both a deceptive gifts being demonstrated and a genuine gifts which are the latter rain. Don’t confuse the two. You are correct in what you affirm however you are incorrect in what you deny. Edward once denied the continuation of gifts. God changed his mind and demonstrated the gifts until he passed. Like the 1st century gifted people. Edward’s ministry lives on giving life and faith to those who encounter his writings or videos. The Spirit enables this. It is evidence of what I am suggesting you consider. Do not quench the Spirit or His work through unbelief.
