Two months ago, I traded in my 25FBT International for the Globetrotter 30RB Twin - and couldn't be happier. the New AC/Heatpumps are compared to the 2021 International series which sounded like a jet taking off.
The updated AC duct 12x12 filters simply make so much sense.
The 3" lift kit makes so much sense, and has enabled some amazing boondocking views.
in a few weeks, I'm adding a second MPPT Charge controller with Anderson pass throughs off the hull, to enable up to 600Watt of ground panels.
At the 30' length, I wish Airstream would add as an option the ability to trade-up the 30# propane bottles to 40# as in the Classic series. I also wish Airstream had a latched access door in the lower face to the bedroom center table for interior access to the rear storage compartment - but that was an easy update to retrofit on a saturday.

I am contemplating a Globetrotter and am in discussion with a friend who is arguing for the 25 ft international. My wife and I would like the 30 ft. Curious, what was the tipping point for you? Is there a way to connect via email? Was going to send private message but not able to. Thanks
@@hiddenharborhoa4185 A few reasons for me....
First, I snowbird in Arizona, Texas and Utah in the winter, and stay in VIrginia the summer/fall. My reasons:
- lifestyle: Working at the kitchen table in the 25 when the day is done, lounging at the kitchen table was repetative. In the J lounge of the 30 Globetrotter, you have seperate areas to laptop work, eat and lounge, breaking up the use patterns.
- lifestyle: The 30 Globetrotter twin beds have extended space beyond the mattresses; in the 25, the mattresses end at the bulkhead - at my height that's an issue.
- lifestyle: a 50 gallon fresh water tank, I can now boondock uninterrupted for two solid weeks. In the International, I had to make water trips.
- Mechanical - the 25' trailers really max out solar on the roof at 400-500watts of panel. On the 30GT, I can put 1000 watts of solar, and still have space for a fixed starlink antenna mount.
- lifestyle - storage in the 30GT... oh my goodness storage -- inside and external! a real hallway closet... and did I mention ???
Things I'm going to change in this 30GT, after owning it for a few months:
- the gas hob is coming out in favor of a fisher and paykel 24" home gas hob.
- I am adding the showermizer hot water control system in both the shower and at the kitchen sink (for boondocking use).
- I am adding a second Victron MPPT charge controller, with Anderson through-hull connectors for my ground solar panels. The zamp port is limited to a single 100-watt panel, where I place 400-600watts of ground panels.
- an upgrade of the converter/inverter to a Victron 3000 series multiplex, with another 250Amp hours of battery.

Before buying an RV, make sure you investigate where you’re going to go with it (nicer campgrounds are crowded and expensive, and cheap ones are crowded and suuuuck). Also make sure to investigate storage options and fees, which in South Florida are equally ridiculous. The trailer is just the beginning of the dollars getting sucked out of your account.
That is a good point. Definitely do your research and book the campground ahead of time to avoid any issues.

I think Airstream target consumers are those tech companies high income young people in BayArea and rich retired seniors. I don’t think normal average income people those first time RV buyers will consider Airstream.
@@wp65th50 - you only pay for the cost of depreciation. The cost of an AS is not that much more than other brands.
@@razorwired130 You also pay for Opportunity Costs of tying up $150k or more in a depreciating asset that will cost you literally tens of thousands of hidden dollars.

They dont have drive wheels, they roll so that would be dependent on your tow vehicle.

what size of truck do you need to haul this trailer around with no problem?
Any truck that can tow over 9,000 lbs
@@colonialairstream it's not just tow capacity ... it's payload capacity too. The tongue wait eats up the majority of a half ton truck's payload capacity. Add a few people in the truck cab and some luggage / things in the truck bed, and you've surpassed the half ton's payload. Folks need a 3/4 ton truck.
We can tow our 27 ft trailer with my BMW SUV.

I’m curious why exterior length and width are given, interior width and height are also given but not interior length, why?
Why? because it is not listed in the Airstream specifications. We know the interior floor length is 3 1/2' smaller than the exterior center of ball to back bumper length.
Do you have any with and island kitchen?
Unfortunately not. Due to the limited space, an island kitchen would not be doable.
you'll only find islands on fifth wheels and trailers with slideouts.

@@colonialairstream Haha, I know that. But all us Airstreamers know that the published hitch weight is not the real world hitch weight when you hit the CAT scales.
The other trailers brands are starting look much more Like a house but Airstream still bit better as the Cabinet's are better in a Airstream as you can hear them open up on the other ones sounds bad but looks nice on Airstream sound like one you have a home much better

Patrick! The only reason I'm watching this video is because I recognized your face. We visited colonial 2 years ago and have mixed feelings about their customer service. Marketing department not very good. I had zero idea you worked there, since when? I don't know why... but I'm in shock, I love your personal.channel, it is the best. There is no washing machine in this Airstream or any. But there are many small eco units you can find online that fit in small spaces.
