I mentioned this knife on your new video then I seen you already did this one. I'm enjoying mine. Thanks
Love my companion for so many tasks!
I love moras you get a sharp knife every time you order one and you do not have to work on them all ready to go right out of the box I do not like sharping and working on a brand new knife big turn off. thanks for sharing the companion is a wonderful knife. I love mine.
Love my Mora Companion HD. Easy to sharpen and maintain.
A great blade indeed that I've heard a lot about so I picked one up & it hasn't disappointed .
Love it! 🙂👍
Very interesting what you had to say about the guy who wouldn't repurchase his Garberg and just how useful these less expensive Moras are. Been using a Hultafors all summer outdoors and for carving/whittling at home, it's been great. Have more expensive knives but carried on with the budget ones, the job was getting done well. Have Moras, including a couple I've had over a decade, still doing the job well.
I own 9 Morakniv knives, 3 of which are the Companion. Guess that tells you something about how much I like em.👍
Mora!!!! My brother gave me the Companion carbon several years ago. Probably the knife that got me hooked on collecting Scandi knives.
They work so beautifully! I’ve never worked with anything that cuts as good as clean as these
I have been using moras for years and bang for the buck they are hard to beat. I have several and they have never let me down.
Right on my friend, I love the simplicity and effectiveness of them for sure
Now we're talking. I love my Mora knives. On every trail walk I carry one. God bless from the PNW 🙏
God bless you as well, my friend! great hearing from you! I’m definitely going to increase my more collection and get something heavier.
@@411Outdoors Right on bro
I just grabbed a stainless companion knife for hunting and fishing. I was so impressed by its sharpness and ergonomics that I grabbed a second version in carbon for widdling sticks and general outdoor use. Did a real cool forced patina with mustard. Plus I have a great idea for a fathers day gift now.
Great vid. I agree sometimes we forget that the knife is a great tool. Simple and easy. A thinn blade is a laser.
I love my companion....I use it alot for food prep. It is a slicing machine. Thanks again for such an awesome video bro 😊
Appreciate you as well 🙂
The price is so good that I bought five of them for my steak knife drawer. They sharpen easy.
I have quite a few knives in my collection, but my go to in most situations is a mora 511 great cheap and so far not broken 1 in hard use ,but it does dull quick ,nothing a quick field strop won't fix ,always carry my eldris and condor terrasaur, just in case ,.God bless you and your family. Take care. Lee
Mora. Great knifes can’t go wrong. I have two companions and Bushcraft Black.
As you said a great gift. Maybe they’ll use it to open a box instead of car keys, scissors or a rolling pin.. 😄
There should be a place for a Scandi knife in Everybody's
collection. At the moment I only own one, and its a Hultafors. The Design is Basic and the Price is Right.
No Beef with it at all.
I have a lot of Mora knives and have never gotten a bad one yet. A couple have been a little dull, but stropping on a beavercraft sharpens them right up. Probably most consistent knife maker in the industry.
I just ordered my 6th companion. I used to be a hardcore benchmade guy (and I still love all my benchmades) but the value behind these knives is ridiculous. So useful for so many situations. Unless I need a fixed adamas or esee 5, I’m grabbing my mora companion. Just a great, great knife.
I have three mora and they are amazing
That Mora Spark is another one that’s good . . . and then there is the Kansbol . . .and the . . . .
Love the channel. Love my mora knives. I like the robust the best I think but the campanion is pretty great.
Glad you like them too! Love working with them. Glad to have you on the channel!
I bought the companion about 2 years ago for cutting meat. Very sharp. I can crush through fowl quickly. Very versatile for small cuts when the larger butcher is a tad big. Appreciate your video.
Thanks brother!
I picked up 2 of the companion stainless, and 1 basic 511 stainless. I like them. Cheap, sharp, comfortable.
🙂💯👍
I cut the “belt loop” off of the sheaths and appendix carry my moras at an angle. Very comfortable and very secure. With a mora fixed blade and an opinel in your pocket when you don’t want to freak out potentially squeamish folks, you’ve got all you’ll ever need.
Nice!
I living in Finland, and yes we called those ”Mora puukko”, which is like hoovers in England, it’s synonyme this kind of knives. We used those decades and Mora’s are affordable cheap and good quality. I think 1/4 of Finland’s homecides are made with Mora too😂
Wow! Great info
“I know that this is not a throwing knife but you k on now me…” (thwack!)
😅
😂👊
Like you said, it’s not a thrower, but it actually throws very well. I’ve thrown my companion a lot, and it sticks quite often especially with military half spin
Sure does haha 👍
Companion heavy duty its just great , very thick blade great for Wood carving, batoning, etc. And skandi grind holds edge very long, and they are very cheap in europe 😃
I’m 100% pleased and I want to collect them all lol
I spent the extra on the mora companion heavy. Just that bit bigger handle and thicker blade. But I also got a few basic knifes to loan to people. If they loss or forget to return them
I've heard the remarks about the garberg but I saw one for a good price and I purchased it and I really love the thing but I also have the Bushcraft black and I have some more companions and I really like all of them. Price doesn't mean as much with the Mora knives because they're all so well made
I have a frost mora chipper thats 48 years old and its just as sharp as new. And it looks the same as the mora companion
Yes, these cheaper Mora knifes should be treated as what they are meant for, working tools.
In Sweden they are present in every toolbox. And they are just excellent all purpose tools.
They can take an awful lot of abuse, batoning or whatever. You shouldn't worry too much about using them hard. Use, enjoy and get a new one if you wear out the first one.
The Garberg is a bit more expensive and I would therefore treat it with a little extra care.
It has a higher grade of steel, are a little sturdier, have inherited some of the design elements from previous succesful Mora's and are possibly the only knife you will ever need.
Again, use and enjoy your Mora knifes!
Very underrated channel. Subbed 👍
Thanks so much!
Also, congrats on 50k! 🎉
Well deserved and keep up the good work
The companion hd in carbon steel has treated me very well!
I personally only use folded live Japanese steel in a knife. It will never go blunt and can slice through any armore
I’ve got 3 companions. 2 standard and 1 HD and they’re OG for the price.
I've had the Companion HD for years
It is interesting to hear how this knife is perceived outside of scandinavia.
Love Moras. I end up reprofiling them😂😂. Love the fit and feel but I have no use for a scandi. Need something that’s just as good at food prep. Wish they made them in another profile.
Yeah, wouldn't it be great if there were a companion with a full convex grind?
I just bought a companion HD.
I love morakniv knives
They’re great! Wonderful, wonderful working knives
Even steel snobs who prefers to give one bag with money for one blade love and use mora....I use chiepest similar kind of knife,, Delphin,, and is perfect!!!
Mora Companion HD-SS, the best all-around knife, second place to SAK (or to complement them)
You should pick up an Eldris it is by far my favorite Mora and I think you would really like it for EDC fixed blade. Ohh and also pick up a BPS Techno Bee its a great little knife too.
Appreciate the tip! Most definitely have to go look at those👍
There’s a heavy duty alternative which is 3,2mm wide
Mora knives are the absolute best bang for the buck knives I've ever had. They are the Caniks of the knife world.
They really are lovely, bro and the knife you gave me inspired me to study them🙂👊
@@411Outdoors That is fantastic to hear. Always nice to have variations in anything we do, makes things more handy.
It's a camp knife... food prep, carving... i.e. detail tasks. While limited batoning can be done, its not really meant for that. A larger knife e.g. becker bk7 are knives that are meant for wood prep (chopping, batoning, etc).
I have found this blade to be one of my favorites to walk around with and use
Mora och Hultafors är oslagbara❤
They cost 10 bucks in Holland. And the Robust is around 12.
I prefer the handle of my Hultafors GK in winter, because it's bigger which is more comfortable with gloves on.
The GK is also around 12 euro. And it is indestructable.
Other than that, i love the Companion for all of the reasons you mentioned. It's sharp, comfortable, affordable, durable and easy to maintain.
🙂💯👍
ive had 2 garbergs in stainless and both were blunt out the box and nearly impossible to put an edge on, was so disappointed that my companion was so much better.
I watch joex knife destruction too.... Mora did better than other famous and legendary brand....
Definitely 👍
I just noticed that they are now making a Heavy Duty version Companion in carbon or stainless steel
I will definitely be interested in that. I love these blades so much.
Love your channel!
No Bud Lite cans to throw at?!?!?! 😀
Not yet but I need to get some lol! Thanks my friend!
@@411Outdoors their probably hard to find. I just read it’s all being pulled and returned to their warehouses.
Well maybe while your practicing the various disciplines in the woods you stumble upon a Bud Lite can. Unaware of the consequences you reach down and pick it up. Then the metamorphosis quickly consumes you. Then to your horrified viewers disbelief you are seen skipping away in your Peter Pan outfit ( including tights).
@@edwardgomez3633 😂😂👊
I want to like it as I like the blade/wanted to try a scandi, could use a 4" fixed.
But I can't hop off the fence yet due to the curved handle/lower than the blade. fahhh, my wrist pivots.
3/4 tang? Heck my USMC Kabar could be a noodle some day when abusing?
Also bit miffed of Morakniv. Companion @ 20.00+, jump to full tang Garberg SS you're 80 to 100.00+.
~ Wasn't there an old vid of someone coining the old bushcrafter that passed over few years back..pound a Mora to a tree to use as a step?
..as well as Mora should stop selling to shite holes as amazon, where you may get someone's used return resold. (their reviews of great products are sus of an abused return)
~~ Nice vid 4OLL. And now you've a practice chunka returning the tip to near as awl status ay?
It looks like a Kitchen Knife ..
Very much so 👍
I have 4 of these and about 7 basics
They’re such a breath of fresh air. So comfortable and so sharp and so everything you need lol
@411 Outdoors LLC yeah they are fantastic for the price.
0:30 You spat 😁
Haha
Like the knife. Not the biggest fan of the Scandi grind
Just order mine for $15. Couldn’t pass up a great price and knife
You’ll love it
Horse dung bro! Mora companion and hd version get the job done batoning or carving. Had a few robust trading moras , companion, companion had. They all baton ALOT of wood with no problems. You would have to be trying to destroy them to actually do any substantial damage. Moras are the best for the price and the steels are really nice.
Hey bro, I love my Mora. No need to declare horse dung because Im a fan 😂😂I own several now. I had just seen where a lot of people don’t prefer to baton with it. I know from working with mine a lot more that it can do anything i need . It’s my favorite work and carry around knife.
Great video...really appreciate the shout out!!! That means a lot to me. I'm on the cusp of hitting a 1000 subs as we speak. Please let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you. Let's stay in touch. God bless you brother.
You as well! and absolutely 🙂👍👍
In my opinion mora we’re good when the prices are right. For example I bought a Garberg for $55. That was a excellent deal. The companion everywhere I see it the cost is around $25. That isn’t worth it in my opinion. The Hultafor Ok4 is the same price better knife in everyway. Really the BPS knives blow mora out of the water. Another knife I really like but haven’t tested enough the odenwolf . The only point with the odenwolf on the scandi the tip is very thin. But that can be fixed with a few sharpenings. Mora was a thing until they priced themselves out. Most people don’t realize how mora is automated. It has machines doing everything so it is just greed that drives their prices. I’m sure the fanboys will disagree, that’s fine my money is going elsewhere. I do love Swedish 80cv steel . You can get blanks and make your own knives for under $20.
You realize inflation is a thing right, they aren't greedy but as food and energy, labour costs they still need to make a profit
@@solironwolf1168 maybe you should look at Mora's fully automated plant. Funny how their marketing changes depending who they are hustling.
For the new $200+ knives they are handmade. In a plant that's fully automated. They use recycled steel which turns out to be the same blades they use on their cheap knives.
The garberg is €100 the companion is €12. That's a huge difference.
Just got a companion for $15, just gotta find the good prices.
is this morakniv model is best type of knife for killing chickens and other farm animals in most humane possible?
It’s very sharp and handy, but I would definitely want something a little bit bigger.
