A great design, quality materials and low price make it an unbeatable combination. I have one in every pack and vehicle. My uncle gave me my first Mora knife 56 years ago. At that time, "moras" were made by 3 different manufacturers in the area of Mora Sweden and many had a steel guard. Not many reviews about a Mora being an excellent knife used for large and small game hunting.
Thanks for your excellent review and thanks for being a Scout master. All the best to you in all future endeavors .

I love these simple but well thought out knives 🔪.
The quiver can be quickly and securely attached to the belt without having to fumble it halfway out of the pants. If necessary, the quiver can also be attached to the waistband without a belt.
And Mora proves that you can produce cleanly crafted knives at a reasonable price in Sweden and don't have to outsource production to Asia. 😃👍🏼🇸🇪

Great review of the Companion. Get this: I am totally an outdoor guy. Live on a river, life time flyfisherman. But I only owned folding and fish filet knives. Then the first week of Oct 2022, I was diagnosed with bladder and then prostate cancer. I have essentially been bedridden since the first week in October. I discovered lots of time to you tube surf. I discovered Mora knives. Mora knives has given me hope and anticipation that there will be an active life for me once again by early May.
Now for my Mora story. I personally own 2 basic 511, 3 SS Companions, 6” & 3.5” fish filet, and a Kansbol OD green. I’ve purchased 8 SS Companions and gifted to family members and two 40 yr friends
You might say I went Mora crazy. I can’t wait to really use one.

I actually didn’t get another knife and stopped carrying it in favor of a razor blade for a couple years after that but the memory of using it is what sparked the massive knife addiction I have now at 24.
I actually just found that original companion today. Bonus points to the fact that it’s in this baby blue color it seems morakniv no longer manufactures this knife in. Awesome! Gonna regrind the tip and take it right back to work/

    Older vid but..
I agree of your positive points. Especially blade shape, steak knife to paring..wanting a a neck knife for outdoor/camping.
~ For a coupla years I was on the fence of getting a Mora. After looking at a bunch of I found I liked the Companion. In that I found it was 3/4 tang. ummm, back stepping in thought.
Year later up comes that crazy JoeX testing a Companion HD in SS.
Holy moly does that guy put knives through abuse! ..stabbed heavy to a stump round of wood he bent the blade on over two handed..showed, then bent it back same way near straight. ~ No way I'd ever such use any knife as. ~ So I landed on an orange one wanted, so much of my worry of the 3/4 tang worthy.
~ Point of my post actually is many don't like the sheath due to they think it loosens over time and can fall out.
~ Some from various heat sources then squeeze. (huh, it's a one hander right/why chance messing it?) Others do mods making some fidgety wrap from sheath to handle as aunt crafter might.
~~ ..anyway, after eyeballing mine I thought of the bag of marble type bungee cord rounds made for tarp grommet use.
I just shortened the bungee and it's a finger flick on the marble flipping retainer off/two finger back.
~~ I hemmed 'n wondered of measuring how short to cut the bungee.
The hole in the marble for knot is so deep (3/4") no measuring was needed. ~ Put/slide bungee in top of sheath clip, cut bungee long at marble after picking out the knot.
Re-tie knot close to marble as possible, trim ends and melt. Stuff knot back in marble hole of origin and done. ~ The 3/4" of recessed hole in the plastic marble for knot was perfect slack needed after stuffing back in. ~ If ever the sheath gets looser that knife isn't going anywhere with that bungee on rubber handle.
~~ Five of same color of forest/trail floor?
yup, glad I got orange. In my case things don't fall out as in youth, but do get misplaced during use final.
