Wonderful as always ladies! I totally agree with your sentiments re knitting and not being influenced to knit the latest and greatest. It's lovely to see the patterns and yarn that you have though and I especially enjoy seeing your own designs and growth.
Thank you for those last comments. I do feel pressured to cast on but it was nice to be reminded to enjoy the process and enjoy the yarn you’re working with. Love your podcast and hope to visit one day. Congrats on the grand opening of the new store
My favourite podcast! Never rusty, you are real and that is part of your charm and appeal! I especially appreciated your wisdom and sharing about the ‘pressures’ of all the patterns and all the yarns! It’s a mixed blessing! I can totally relate and I don’t design or own a yarn shop! And a huge thank you to both of you and your generosity in your free patterns! ❤️ Loving my fig field bag I purchased from you! 👌
I love you two, I love you two, I love you two. You are lovely, funny and real. Thank you for being here. And thanks for permission to sloooooow dooooowwwwn. Hugs from Minnesota
I always enjoy your podcasts and your “purls” of wisdom. I am learning that I can’t knit everything and to not get up in what everyone on social media is knitting and to knit the things I know I will wear.
Thank you for another interesting podcast. Please don't change anything - I love how natural you both are! You make me smile and laugh. I had the good fortunate of saying hello to you both in Knit City Vancouver and I have made plans to come to Montreal for the next one in March. I am very excited. Looking forward to seeing your yarn shop and maybe joining in a knit night. Happy Knitting ! Ann ( from Kelowna BC and Rosemere PQ) .
So glad to see you! And I love your podcast!! You may have been described as ‘unpolished’, I would call you ‘real’. You are real people talking about something you really love and sharing that joy with other real people. Lisa, thank you for doing a PSA as Melissa called it. I think ‘by yourself time’ is so important and lots and lots of couples don’t understand the need for it. Our oldest, now an adult, had a long list of issues that kept our lives in constant turmoil that started as early as 7 years old. We were fortunate enough to have wonderful parents that would come and stay with the kids so we could get away. It made all the difference. I am so about couples staying connected. It was an unexpected part of the podcast and I hope it resonates with those who need it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write us such a wonderful message! I guess we can't help but be real, and the more we read comments, and the more we meet our followers the more we feel like sharing because the connection does feel real:-) Sean and I are already planning our next getaway 😂!!
You are so right about how we have ideas that we cant wear a 'rustic' wool - I am blonde and skin gets red easily, I would feel prickle from natural wool on my neck and immediately panic and remove it... then I read about how that prickle stops or calms down if you just push through that initial fear of having a little prickle. Now I dont buy superwash yarns at all - I love knitting with and wearing non superwash wool yarns so much and thats all I use. Im so glad you have a selection of non superwash yarns and talk about them! thank you!
Thanks for another great podcast, you weren't "rusty" at all! I especially loved your comments at the end - to not feel pressured to buy all the yarn and to enjoy what you have. I discovered a great acronym recently: JOMO - joy of missing out. I love the idea of letting the frenzied consumerism pass by and just purchase what I want when I am ready to cast on. As you wisely said, there "will always be more yarn."
So nice to spend time with you both this afternoon!! Please know how much I appreciate what you do for all we "knitters" and "makers"!!! Lots of inspiration this episode. Take Care of each other!! Bravo on the "Atilier"!!!! Hope I get to experience it soon!! Roxanne.
Another terrific episode, full of so much inspiration! BTW, re Sophia Kammeborn's Trondheim Mittens, I believe the blue/white borders above and below the cityscape are called Latvian Braid (not I-cord). Fellow viewers, please correct me if I'm mistaken. Cheers, and maybe I'll even return to my old hometown for Knit City in March. I was in town at Thanksgiving weekend and finally got to visit your shop on the Sunday. I've been meaning to let you know that Mona was in the store and was such a huge help to me in choosing yarn for my next project. I went to her 3 times, and only then found out that she wasn't actually "at work"! She had stopped in with her daughter to wind some wool. She was so gracious to lend me a hand and I wanted to let you (and her) know how thankful I am. ... It was so funny, because her daughter (who's probably 11 years old or so) was waiting for Mona on a stool at the cash, and customers kept thinking she was working the till and could ring in their purchases! Very cute! All the best, and I look forward to your next podcast.
Thanks so much for stopping by Kaila and you are right, Hannah is just 11 years but looks much older and wiser than her years:-) I will certainly pass on your kinds words to Mona, she will be thrilled! Hopefully you'll come back for another visit soon!
Oh my goodness. I can’t believe the last part of your podcast. Only at the weekend I was sooooo frustrated as every piece of knitting I picked up went wrong. In the end I just stopped and didn’t do anything. Today I’m knitting up a storm and enjoying every minute. You are so right to say slow down. I feel when I say on Instagram that I’m starting something, there is a pressure to get it done asap. But I’m now taking it slower and going back to enjoying every stitch like I always used to. Thank you yet again! lovely ladies for another inspirational chat Sending best wishes your way xx
Nice to see you again! Loved the entire podcast but particularly the segment about the stress of knitting it all. It’s real! I’m doing the ‘no November’ as suggested by Sandi by the Lakeside, and feel much better. Aside from podcasts, social media is down to a bare minimum and I’ve finished knitting two items, one of which was a sweater for my hubby. Thanks!
Missed seeing you at Rhinebeck but happy to have you back in podcast form! Love seeing all your new yarns but especially love the "be calm and happy with your knitting" message - I really appreciate that message from you as yarn shop owners! Happy knitting!
Thanks Jenny! We actually saw you from afar, however were not able to connect! We see that you are a great festival traveller! Thanks so much for your lovely message and I am sure that we'll run into you again:-)
As always, an amazing podcast! I look so forward to watching you ladies while I knit. I'm glad you have show notes or I would be frantically taking notes while watching ;). I wanted to let you know that your last podcast inspired me to start a local knitting group in my town! I sent out over 40 invitations and have about 18 people who joined the group and we meet on a weekly basis. I can't thank you enough.
A fabulous Saturday night catching up with you and knitting my Seaside Stroll Baby Blanket. So many beautiful projects and more inspiration with yarns. Loved every minute.
Hi! Congrats on the Atelier. I missed hearing your excitement about STORAGE in the new space. You’re absolutely right about not being polished but you are like that lovely leather bag, always around, useful, beautiful with age like a good wine....the espace tricot girls. Cheers🇨🇦
You two are as charming and lovable as ever-no rustiness at all! Thanks for the wise words about de-stressing and managing our knitting expectations. I'll heed them as soon as I finish the fourth grandchild's sweater I'm frantically trying to finish by US Thanksgiving!
Awesome episode! Of course we just want to knit ALL the things in all the scrumptious yarn and with all the coolest tools.....and keep in to die for project bags and totes!!! Great meeting you at Rhinebeck too.
I so appreciated your comments at the end of the podcast about feeling overwhelmed by my knitting. Just cruising Instagram and being exposed to all of the creativity in our knitting world and feeling the frenzy and wanting to cast on EVERYTHING! Anyway, thank you for the reminder to slow down and enjoy. There will always be more yarn. Love your podcast and look forward to visiting your store in person someday soon!!
You guys were great! Love your genuine energy and support for designers, craftspeople and dyers. I have Joji’s BA bag, also in black, and love it. Thank you, merci beaucoup!
Love seeing all the beautiful things you highlight! And really love what you say about slowing down and not feeling like we have to consume everything. I think it is a great reminder that we can appreciate all of it without having to feel like we have to have it all. You said it so well. Hope to visit your beautiful shop someday! 💕😊💕
Thank you for this great episode! Lisa, I guess we were in Paris just around the same time! (je suis une parisienne expatriée en FL), j’espère que vous avez passé un bon séjour. Je vais à chaque fois chez La Bien Aimée bien sur, et chez Lil’ Weasel qui est dans un très joli petit passage couvert pas très loin des Halles. You are so inspiring that my wish list increases greatly with every of your episodes, so thank you for your wise words about enjoying slow knitting,
Long time no see! I don't do multiple wips. I have a sock and a sweater/cowl going at the same time. I decided I want the finish , yes, but I want to enjoy it. If I am not feeling it, I rip that sucker and move on. Y'all keep it real and that's why I watch. Lookin' good Girls. Cheryl
Great podcast, couldn’t help laughing along with you both .Fantastic selection of yarns, I sit here with an A4 pad writing down what I’d like to purchase next. Thanks again for sharing 😀
Marin is pronounced Ma RIN it is the first County north of San Francisco. The design was inspired by the County offices that were designed by Frank Loyd Wright. A beautiful building. Love watching the two of you and what you are knitting and the new yarns.
Thank you for another brilliant episode!!! I've decided to think of all those neglected wips as bountiful abundance and as having so many choices available; I no longer fret over having not completed them!!!
“I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose.”......Sylvia Plath describing us sitting under the tree of new projects and new yarn.
I always love your podcasts! You are so much fun and so inspiring! I am totally fan-girling your style. True confession: I have also been a victim of the siren call of new projects and yarn. I have thirty patterns in my queue and yarn for all of them. But I have learned to keep the WIPs down to about four except when I commit to doing a test knit. I have already booked my hotel room (ages ago) for Knit City. save me a seat at knit night - I am so looking forward to it!
Hi Leea, so happy that we'll get to see you again!! And I hear you about the queue, but is doesn't count if it's not a WIP, so good for you for staying at 4!!
And thanks for your lovely words at the end about the "too much incoming" and the pressure of getting the next great thing coming along. A strategy I'm using now (subject to change, of course) is I buy no superwash (chlorine and plastic), no yarn with nylon (plastic), and no merino (pills galore!) I know this sounds rigid and limited, but it has really opened a whole world of wonderful sheepy yarn to me, like Biches et Buches and Rosa Pomar.
I think that's a great strategy Ellen! Our styles and interests change over time and it is great to discover new fibres and fabrics!! We have loved our foray into rustic yarns and it will be interesting to see where the step step will take us!
I always look forward to your podcasts but this one was especially timely as my Father just passed less than 2 weeks ago and I was needing something to lift my spirits as I worked out. You were a welcome distraction and I will be ordering from you as soon as I can decide on a sweater.
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your Father Cindy, however, are very honoured to hear that we provided some comfort and hopefully some comic relief as well! As we say in French, Bon Courage and our thoughts are with you:-)
I love your vids as they are! I do have one suggestion: when you show off the pics/patterns in a magazine, tag them with Post-Its so you wouldn't have to shuffle through the magazine to find them.
Hi ladies: The Ysolda Teague pattern Marin is pronounced "me-rin" with the accent on the second syllable. When you look at the photos of the pattern Ravelry, the pattern was initially a collaboration between A Verb for Keeping Warm and Ysolda. The photos were taken at the Marin County Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. So there you go. Hope you find this helpful.
Bonjour Mesdames, toujours intéressant à vous écouter....est-ce que je pourrais savoir les couleurs que vous avez prises pour le châle Asbroock. Il est magnifique.... 🙏 merci 😍
I’m curious , My eldest son was passionate about French language . He began learning at three yrs. I studied Spanish , but took interest in French bc of his studies . I believe that I’ve picked up more than I realized . Did Silevi Silevi ask you to podcast entirely in French? Your reply was something along the line of “You’re sorry, but that wouldn’t be possible , as Melissa isn’t fluent in French ?” If I’m close, I’ll be happy and surprised! I can understand her request , you two are fabulous . However , she may be understanding more than she realizes :)
hi ladies. You are both wonderful. would you be kind enough to show the labels on your new yarn. I have trouble understanding what your saying sometimes
You know, that is a very good question and I have actually asked myself that a few times! I have also been wondering if cashmere and alpaca are warmer than rustic wools?! Assuming that thickness and gauge are the same, I think cashmere is the warmest, then a rustic wool, then a superwash, but off course, this is my completely unscientific answered based on my personal experience of wearing sweaters and shawls of the different fibre contents 😂! Because superwash yarns have a coating, I feel that it hinders the full warmth effect of the wool 😊.
When you talk brands.. sometimes i don’t get the words exacting.. trying to write down the Debbie Bliss yarns you’re recommending.. I got Denmark.. cashmere.. but the words were spoken too rapidly. Even tho i backed the video up several times I just couldn’t get the word ... that happens every so often.. .so maybe when giving names of yarns or patterns.. you could sort of slow down... or enunciate 1 or 2X... I’d really like that.. your choices are marvelous! Thank you for all the hard work you put into these enjoyable videos!!
HI Suzann, all the brands and names we mention are in our show notes on Ravelry. Simply click on the link in the description box under the video. That will be much easier than trying to follow our rambling 😂! The Debbie Bliss yarn was Fine Donegal, however I think that it might be discontinued. We'll try to slow down, but there are no guarantees, especially since we get stressed that we are making our podcasts tooo long!! Thanks for sticking by us and for your kind words:-)
Lisa R writes..l kid mohair should be much finer / softer than mohair that’s not *kid* The kid is equiv of baby , so this is the softest . Few if any guard hairs. The older goats tend to in general have more wiry guard hairs that causes the prickle .Look for kid mohair . Or look at skein in good light notice lots of heavier shiny hairs popping out , leave this yarn for outer wear :) For spinners . Adding just 10 percent of kid mohair , baby alpaca, cashmere to your wool during prep will add a surprising difference in the base wool . Add softness while maintaining bounce ‘)
Generally that is what they represent, however looking at the exact measurements on the pattern page will be a better way for you to choose your size:-)
Ladies...off your game? Hardly! Congrats on the Atelier opening. Is this your new taping location? I miss all that gorgeous squishy yarn surrounding you. Just sayin’.
Your authenticity and enthusiasm trump rusty every time! Thanks for another wonderful podcast!
☺️ Thanks Anne!

Glad that you're back, and you are in NO way 'rusty' - just as enjoyable as ever. Congrats on the new space, too!
☺️, Thanks so much Donna!
I love your words of wisdom at the end! I needed that! Relax and enjoy the process
Nice to see you again! Loved the entire podcast but particularly the segment about the stress of knitting it all. It’s real! Oooh, I love that analogy Betty, thanks so much 😘! We unfortunately have no store in the Atelier either, therefore, no excitement on that front 😂!
You two are as charming and lovable as ever-no rustiness at all! Thanks for the wise words about de-stressing and managing our knitting expectations. I'll heed them as soon as I finish the fourth grandchild's sweater I'm frantically trying to finish by US Thanksgiving!

Love to watch you ladies!!! And all your knitted beauties and yarn goodies at your store! 💕 and I’m in love with Subtle Interruption!
☺️ Thanks! I will hopefully get it done within the next 2 weeks!

Thanks a fabulous strategy Cheryl, good for you!! I am inspired:-)
Please do not change a thing..you are perfect as you are! I learn something new,I laugh with you and I always feel inspired!😚
Thanks for the vote of confidence Andrea 😊!
Perfect timing for some caffeinated Sunday morning viewing. ♥️
Love you ladies! So enjoyed meeting you at Rhinebeck. So much content in your podcasts. Keep it coming!
You are quite welcome Peg! Hope you had as much fun at Rhinebeck as we did:-)
Great podcast, couldn’t help laughing along with you both .Fantastic selection of yarns, I sit here with an A4 pad writing down what I’d like to purchase next. Thanks again for sharing 😀
So glad we can provide some comic relief Angela 😂!
Marin is pronounced Ma RIN it is the first County north of San Francisco. The design was inspired by the County offices that were designed by Frank Loyd Wright. A beautiful building. Love watching the two of you and what you are knitting and the new yarns.
Thanks so much Sunny! You are the second viewer to bring this fact to our attention 😊!
Thank you for another brilliant episode!!! I've decided to think of all those neglected wips as bountiful abundance and as having so many choices available; I no longer fret over having not completed them!!!
🤗!! We knitters indeed need support therapy 😂!
“I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose.”......Sylvia Plath describing us sitting under the tree of new projects and new yarn.
That is a fab quote!! Thanks Laurie:-)

Loved your episode (as usual!) loved laughing with you and seeing all the new yarns- you two are absolutely terrific and love your staff!
Thanks so much Marsha for your enthusiasm and kind words about our staff 😊!
Lovely podcast as always ladies!
Thanks Heather:-)
Yay! Love your episodes! Always inspiring. Captions are not available for this video as in past videos. Please enable. 😊
I think that is something that you do on your side is it not Anna?
So nice to see you again, this was a great podcast :)
And thanks for your lovely words at the end about the "too much incoming" and the pressure of getting the next great thing coming along. We have the same sofa from Article.com.. super comfy... best of luck for the atelier!
We even had a few customers come test it out because they wanted to get it as well! Indeed it is very comfy!!
I always look forward to your podcasts but this one was especially timely as my Father just passed less than 2 weeks ago and I was needing something to lift my spirits as I worked out. You were a welcome distraction and I will be ordering from you as soon as I can decide on a sweater.

Love your podcast! Chock full of inspiration! I added a few things to my queue. I’m currently working on 4 projects with socks on the side:)
Sounds like the right amount of projects Gail 🤗!
I love your vids as they are! I do have one suggestion: when you show off the pics/patterns in a magazine, tag them with Post-Its so you wouldn't have to shuffle through the magazine to find them.
Now that would take too much organization Diana 🤣! But we'll try!!
@@EspaceTricotPodcast LOL!!! I would still love watching ...
Another great episode, so inspirational. I loved the 'Arata' sweater and was wondering what colours you used. Thanks,
Oh wow! Bel intro, heureuse de vous entendre parler française. ❣️👏🥰
Merci Françoise, je vais faire plus d'effort encore 😘!
love the show notes!!
I just bought some Fru Valborg at Barecelona Knits this weekend- so beautiful!
🤗!
I have that same BA bag, haven't used it yet
Love you guys
Hi ladies:
The Ysolda Teague pattern Marin is pronounced "me-rin" with the accent on the second syllable. When you look at the photos of the pattern Ravelry, the pattern was initially a collaboration between A Verb for Keeping Warm and Ysolda. The photos were taken at the Marin County Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. So there you go. Hope you find this helpful.
Thanks for the history lesson Carolyn, much appreciated:-)
Exactly - I cast on stash yarn from last year post Rhinebeck because I needed to becalm myself. Blush stockinette therapy.
Yay!! So nice yo have your support Jackie 😘!
Now i see you have “show notes” on website... I can get what I want from there, I’m sure... thank you.!
Hi Suzann, our show notes for all of our podcasts have always been on Ravelry:-)
Melissa! where is your Boho blush shawl? I have been waiting to see the finished project ♥
It's not quite finished yet 😜!
Is the Yume sweater knit with " nurtured fine yarn" held doubled or single? Does anyone know? Thank you!
Yes, Nurtured Fine - held single :-)
I’m curious , My eldest son was passionate about French language . He began learning at three yrs. I studied Spanish , but took interest in French bc of his studies . I believe that I’ve picked up more than I realized . Did Silevi Silevi ask you to podcast entirely in French? Your reply was something along the line of “You’re sorry, but that wouldn’t be possible , as Melissa isn’t fluent in French ?” If I’m close, I’ll be happy and surprised! I can understand her request , you two are fabulous . However , she may be understanding more than she realizes :)
Very curious about the colours used in Lisa's Stalactite?? It is stunning!
Thanks Anne! It is Goéland and Baleine 😊.
I knittet Isabel Kramers A girls best friend in Schachenmayr Merino Yak - it is great for more than socks 🤩
Whereabouts on your online shop are those little embroidery things, the sweater one??????
hi ladies. You are both wonderful. would you be kind enough to show the labels on your new yarn. I have trouble understanding what your saying sometimes
Will do! Thanks for the reminder... :-)
Hi ladies. 🥰 Random question, Is a rustic wool actually warmer than its superwash equivalent? I feel that it is, but I don’t actually know.
Just curious, what bases of La Bien Aimee will you have?!
LBA x Mondim, Merino Singles, Sport, Merino DK. Hopefully you'll find something that you like:-)
@@EspaceTricotPodcast absolutely!
Been waiting for this for a while. Yaaay.
I’m coming to Knit city from North Carolina.
🤗!! Hopefully you'll join us at our Knit Night Becky!
I would love to. Hope to meet you both. Im not sure if you remember, I sent you the FunSpecs reading glasses.
Awesome!!! ❤️🇦🇺
maybe like a capelet instead of a poncho?
Are the sizes 1'2'3 in your paterns the samen as s,m,l .I live in Holland.
Generally that is what they represent, however looking at the exact measurements on the pattern page will be a better way for you to choose your size:-)
Thank you.👍
Ladies...off your game? Hardly! Congrats on the Atelier opening. Is this your new taping location? I miss all that gorgeous squishy yarn surrounding you. Just sayin’.
We definitely miss all the yarn-y goodness too so this was probably the first / last time we'll record a regular podcast in the Atelier :-)!
How cool to get your your reply while I’m still watching your podcast! Thx!
