The new Flash series just had too many sub characters and race swaps for my taste. The show says "Flash" not "The Speed league" focus should be on the main.
Yes, made Flash seem like an idiot because he could never think for himself. Always needed the team to tell him what to do. And the raceswaps were so annoying.
He looks awful. They didn't need to adapt the hair. Just adapt the attitude. Should've hired Bill Burr instead. Nathan Fillion could've played so many other characters.
Gunn's retro-Superman is a return to what the older gen of fans love. We took a detour from that for a few decades after oversaturation of it. I grew up with & love Reeves but people forget just how horrifically bad Superman 4 'Quest For Peace' was - franchise killer
I personally liked the teaser trailer and am now hopeful that it could work. PS: That’s the most comic book accurate looking Guy Gardner we will ever get in a big movie. It’s imo one of the strengths of Gunn, he isn’t shying away from making stuff look like in the comic books, now that we finally can do that with special effects. It’s obviously also his type of humor (especially casting Nathan Fillion for that role), but the old Superman movies also had their bits of silliness or fun in them, so that’s not a problem for me right now.

Dawn of the Dead = remake of pre-existing work pretty much the same plot Slither = fun effects, but not really well written or characters that anyone cares about Super = deconstruction of superheroes / ripping off Kick-Ass (whose movie came out the same year but the comic was 2008) Guardians of the Galaxy = complete theft of Borderlands with Marvel skin The Suicide Squad = probably the most 'original', but mainly worked due to the cast and the visual effects
I want it to be good but I have no faith in Gunn at this point. He didn't cast Henry Cavill because he said he wanted to restart, but then keeps his Peacemaker stuff. Creature Commandos reference The Suicide Squad in the first few minutes of the first episode, making that stuff cannon as well. I will watch it on my Max subscription because I already pay for it, but so far this is definitely a skip for me in the theaters.

No he isn't. This film is based on all Star Superman and Superman for all seasons and Tom King wrote Superman up up and away and Supergirl woman of tomorrow which are great stories.
I agree with Krypto… I thought it was a bad idea when he was announced, but he looked a million times better in the trailer than I expected. More importantly, I think he will be like the baby Yoda for the movie, and get all the normies to see the movie. Krypto is the absolute highlight of the trailer for every non comic book fan I’ve shown it to. Also I’m glad for once we are getting an origin movie that isn’t just a deconstruction “what if this character existed in the real world”, like every Phase 1 MCU, Nolans batman, and Man of Steel before it. Very excited. Superman 1 and 2 are my favorite superheroes movies. Batman with Heath Ledger as the Joker comes in 3rd. Guardians was the best Marvel movie and completely outperformed the comic. Here’s to hope 😊
I miss the early 1990s (1990 to 1994). But the mid-1990s to the late 1990s (1995 to 1999) were kinda sorta anti-climactic. As for the Arrowverse's version of Hawkgirl, I'm rather indifferent to that version of the character. She was okay. Not great or anything, but still not bad. Could she have been way better? Hell yeah. But then again, so could have the entire Arrowverse. 🤷♂️
Thanks for replying to me. I love the 90s for the wrestling, cartoons, and sitcoms. I thought it was a waste of time when it comes to hawkgirl of the arrowverse. You dedicate all of the screen time only for her to leave after Legends of tomorrow season one And never be mentioned ever again.
I hate gunn . Superman will be terrible the cast is too bad, costumes are trash. Gunn directing . There is nothing but the title that makes me want to watch it
You forgot to mention James Gunn's PDF file pals Jimmy Urine aka James Euringer and Huston Huddleston. The last Superman movie directed by a PDF file didn't do so well.
Gunn is doing the comic format. Just throw out anything regardless of context and if someone watches it someone watches it. But that backfires in any form when you have to sell a product. Gunn has everything established with no explanations. Titans are gonna be made but no set up. There's talk about Kid Flash. There's the Waller spin off sides. There's whatever the hell Swamp thing turns into. CC spinoffs Clayface cuz uh. This is how the comics are. A metamoprho comic a question comic a two face comic an Adam comic. Some are stand alone some are who the fuck knows what the continuity is. Comics kinda make it work cuz it's less expensive to print a bunch of random ass books. And yeah they are random. On the other hand Gunn made a single universe and is still trying to worldbuild it without worldbuilding. Can't set up a verse from the ground up and not do it at the same time. When the majority of your announcements are one shot limited series thats a bad sign. That was Kevin Feigie's mistake. I'm at the point where if I really cared about small niche titles then I would read the comics. But WB ain't doing shit for comics. Gunn just cares about artistic adaptations.
Yes, that's exactly how I feel about as well. Well put. I've been waiting for the definitive DC cinematic universe. Taking the best parts of the comics, movies, shows, games and putting it together. Taking what worked from the MCU and the DCAU. Avoiding their pitfalls. Taking the time to properly lay the foundation and embracing the DC universe. But it seems like they're simply not capable of doing it. Everytime they're given the opportunity, they make the same mistake. Never learn. Never change. This time their desparate and trying to rush it even quicker. They'll never catch up the MCU and the DCU will never make the same impact as the MCU. What a waste of such a cool world.
@tobyslater2011 and with the Penguin show, you could literally remove every reference to the DC universe, similar to the Joker movie. It's just another show about the criminal underworld. They were even too ashamed to use Penguin's actual name. If that's what Gunn wants to do, then I'd rather he didn't.
I agree 💯 the flash season 1&2 were great but downhill after that... netflix daredevil had a better structure and compelling storylines. Daredevil is what arrow should have been.....they had failed that city pardon the pun
Can someone point to me where the people saw Superman as the symbol of Hope when we had people yelling at him and throwing cans of soup at his head again? What was this? A Snyderverse cut?? Also, we don't care is Superman's beating down represents America's new regime under Trump... Get your head out of your ass, Jimmy. We just want a good Superman movie. Is that so damn hard to do?
People are so used to Snyder's edgy and CWs teen soap operas that when they seen something more colorful, it seems like a miracle. It looks meh at best, but they don't care.
It will not be the end of the DCU, but not the start of a huge franchise either. I think superheroes need a break and will even then not coming back as big as they were.
I told James Gunn (on Twitter) to do a Blue Beatle and Booster Gold movie starring Sean William Scott as Booster and Topher Grace as Beatle, 2 years ago but no one listens to me . Originally I thought Pau Rudd not Topher but I hate hero double casting Wait Topher was Venom.. damn ..
I am going to wait before I give him any high praise. He is great at sarcastic raunchy humor. We have yet to see him work on a story character like Superman.
I give the trailer a B. Brings hope, has a brighter tone, embracing the absurd (Krypto, the kaiju), being inspiring (the kid with the flag) and most of the core cast on point. Yes the addition of the other heroes is a concern but I think it is merely a glorified cameo.
Gunn’s lied to much he’s far left, I should trust him. They got superman being gated again, superman on earth earth sun supposed to have the effect of making him god like, wonder what the Kent’s teach him this time, can’t top Snyder don’t be a hero blurb.
Agreed, I'm not really sure why he felt the need to direct this movie. He needs to delegate. I think they should've hired the guy who directed Captain America: The First Avenger to capture that patriotic and hopeful spirit of Superman. And I would get Raimi to direct a Batman movie because he's shown he can balance campiness and groundedness with his Spiderman trilogy.
i gonna laugh so hard if it's turns out to be worse than Snyders work - to mean they literally reset filming universe for nothing and lost opportunity to make JL3 with Cavil in times when Marvel turned into woke msheu 🗑️
Honestly, I'm tired. When I was a kid and a teenager, after watching DC cartoons from the 90s-2000s, I always watched their adaptations with interest and was happy when the movie with Cavil and the rest came out. But then everyone went crazy, and everything turned into Hell with constant reboots and recasts - before I could get used to one, another one appeared. Now I'm an adult and I noticed that after all this, I don't care (and even get a little annoyed) about the new Superman, I'm just burned out. I'm too old for this shit.
I am not convinced yet with this Lex Luthor. I need 2 see more. Arrowverse had 1 of the best live action Superman. Heck before own show, the few moments it was much better than all of Supergirl tv show. Nah, the Peacemaker show was meh at best. I have 2 watch Penguin tv show as well.
@harryrao4296 that's just one of the problems with Gunn's universe. Some of the content, like the shows, don't matter at all. So there's no real incentive to watch them.
You're a tough audience Wes. If you like the trailer, then had to be good. Me? I think I've watched it a dozen or so times & was actually moved in some instances.
If this Superman atleast make 800 million? It will be ok.. Because the batman 2 will make a billion..then then You can now teamup David and Robert.. you say Robert is elseworld? No! Yes he is but he is the DCU batman
The problem with MCU tv shows wasn't connection. It was that it was home work for the movies that killed it snd Gunn said that you don't have to see the shows to understand the movies. The Dcu will be more like Star Wars where it is all connected but you don't need to see them to understand the movies.
So then there's no incentive to watch the shows. Movies feel like events. The shows feel like they're just there. Like why would I watch Creature Commandos? Doesn't even feel like it's part of the universe. Feels like it's another thing that got the Guardians treatment from Gunn.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Ok, then why don't you crap on Daredevil and all the other Netflix shows cause there was no incentive to watch them to understand what was going on in the Infinity saga
@ez6888 yeah, that doesn't happen a lot with modern shows because most of them suck and people recognize that. That's why their watching older content instead.

There is nothing but the title that makes me want to watch it
I’m in! Looking forward to seeing Superman-long wait until July
You right about the Flash show it's turn into Highlander to me...
You forgot to mention James Gunn's PDF file pals Jimmy Urine aka James Euringer and Huston Huddleston. The last Superman movie directed by a PDF file didn't do so well.
Gunn’s Superman looks like PRE CRISIS and POST CRISIS 😀
Jesse Eisenberge wasn't Lex Luther. He was Lex Jr from superman Rebirth
It's kind of early to tell.
Krypto was the best part of that trailer.
Yes, and that's a worry!
And that means the SUPERMAN teaser failed.
Me gusto lo del perrito; la apriencia de Lois y Clark.
Gunn just cares about artistic adaptations.
one trallir one movie cannot save an entire brand @univerversieman8008
Look how well “Penguin” turned out. He’s a side-character.
James Gunn wants similar with “Booster Gold”, “Swamp Thing” etc.
@@tobyslater2011 penguin still a batman villan with decades ofhistory in pop culture
Arrow Season 2, The Flash Season 1-2 were the best of the early arrowverese!
So I'm not the only one who freaked out when he saw Krypto?
Already enough is enough now you really pushing it dawg you really asking for a fight
Not sure it will be the Superman movie I want but I think it will be a good movie. I'll take it.
It will not be the end of the DCU, but not the start of a huge franchise either. I think superheroes need a break and will even then not coming back as big as they were.
Bit too early to say that.
Gunn projects can be hit or miss so let not celebrate yet the Superman trailer was OK not bad but OK plus the rest of his DC Slate is meh
I told James Gunn (on Twitter) to do a Blue Beatle and Booster Gold movie starring Sean William Scott as Booster and Topher Grace as Beatle, 2 years ago but no one listens to me .
Originally I thought Pau Rudd not Topher but I hate hero double casting
Wait Topher was Venom.. damn ..
I’m ready for this Superman movie
I am going to wait before I give him any high praise. He is great at sarcastic raunchy humor. We have yet to see him work on a story character like Superman.
Uhm this is just CW for the big screen. I wasn’t sold.
CW is actually comic accurate...so it's not a insult as long as they have a great story
@@niladrighosh7515read the title of the video.
I’m still not sold. But I’ll wait to see what others say.
A bigger budget means not a better movie. I would be fine with a low budget SUPERMAN movie.
EXCELLENT WES WORK. AKA THINKING CRITICAL 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope this film has a good story.
Not hard to do better than Hack Synder.
Exactly, kind of a low bar.
Anyone else notice they used the animated series song in the trailer?
And its all adult-stuff. Superman should be for Kids. And done in a way that adults can enjoy it too.
Up in the sky,all Star
Yamcha pose
I’m not seeing word of mouth of any kind for Creature Commandos.
this Teaser Trailer made me hopeful
I give the trailer a B. Brings hope, has a brighter tone, embracing the absurd (Krypto, the kaiju), being inspiring (the kid with the flag) and most of the core cast on point. Yes the addition of the other heroes is a concern but I think it is merely a glorified cameo.
Gunn’s lied to much he’s far left, I should trust him.
They got superman being gated again, superman on earth earth sun supposed to have the effect of making him god like, wonder what the Kent’s teach him this time, can’t top Snyder don’t be a hero blurb.
I don't like Guy Gardner. He's an asshole. I'd much rather see Hal Jordan.
Hal is going to be in the lanterns where they'll probably kill him off.
I liked the Superman trailer. Gunn can juggle multiple characters and make it work. He's also not the right fit for Superman. Cautiously optimistic.
Like it was confusing whenever you rewatch on Netflix because part of the story was part of a different series.
i gonna laugh so hard if it's turns out to be worse than Snyders work - to mean they literally reset filming universe for nothing and lost opportunity to make JL3 with Cavil in times when Marvel turned into woke msheu 🗑️
🤣😂 not interested to any current and future DC films and series...
James Gunn dcu look trash and Superman will flop
I am not convinced yet with this Lex Luthor. I need 2 see more.
Arrowverse had 1 of the best live action Superman. Heck before own show, the few moments it was much better than all of Supergirl tv show.
Nah, the Peacemaker show was meh at best.
I have 2 watch Penguin tv show as well.
Ok lol. This superman looks awful
Doing DC better than Snyder !?
No chance.
Gunn's stuff even looks less DC than The Flash (seasons 1- 4), Star girl, Superman and Lois and early Arrow.
GREAT THINKING CRITICAL JAMES GUNN SUPERMAN MOVIE TRAILER EXCELLENT,
Wes, When you are going to drop your list of best and worst comic book of 2024 video?
I have played that trailer a few times, something I rarely do. I am now feeling kind of optimistic about this film.
one trallir cement the viability of entire universe nobody is mentioning of creature commando is going absent
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lpthe same reason you’d watch any show… bcuz you think it’d be good or interesting.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Ok, then why don't you crap on Daredevil and all the other Netflix shows cause there was no incentive to watch them to understand what was going on in the Infinity saga
@@vineetdesai6396 Daredevil wasn't even part of the MCU until No home confirmed it, so no it's not the same thing
@ez6888 yeah, that doesn't happen a lot with modern shows because most of them suck and people recognize that. That's why their watching older content instead.
We need Superman in all our lives or we are all doomed.
The trailer looks good but will it became the arrow verse yet Superman and Lois was a good version of supes ...
Looks good, but the overall theme and storyline felt very predictable just by watching that teailer 😂😅
