  • POLPERRO CORNWALL is a village between Looe and Fowey that everyone should visit on their Cornwall holiday. Regarded as the most beautiful village in Cornwall it's very popular with holidaymakers and day trips and rightly so. Come with me as head through the village to the beach.
Polperro is a captivating fishing village nestled on Cornwall's south coast, renowned for its well-preserved charm and rich history. This delightful village boasts narrow streets, a picturesque harbour, and stunning coastal scenery. Here's why you should consider Polperro for your next Cornwall holiday:
Wander the narrow, winding streets lined with traditional Cornish cottages. The car-free environment allows you to truly immerse yourself in the village's timeless atmosphere. Many of the cottages house craft shops, galleries, and cafes, adding to the village's charm.
The heart of the village revolves around the picturesque Polperro Harbour. Take a leisurely stroll along the harbour front, admire the colorful fishing boats moored in the water, and breathe in the fresh sea air. You might even spot some seabirds diving for fish or playful seals basking on the rocks.
Delve into Polperro's fascinating past at the Polperro Heritage Museum of Fishing and Smuggling. The museum explores the village's fishing industry and its involvement in smuggling activities over the centuries. Interactive exhibits and historical artifacts bring the stories to life.
While Polperro Harbour Beach is small and secluded, it offers a charming spot to relax and soak up the sunshine. The sheltered cove is perfect for paddling or rock pooling, especially for families with young children.
While Polperro itself might be compact, the surrounding area offers a wealth of things to see and do:
Polperro Harbour: As mentioned before, explore this charming harbour and soak up the traditional fishing village atmosphere. Enjoy fresh seafood at the harborside restaurants or watch local fishermen bring in their daily catch. Consider taking a boat trip around the bay for stunning coastal views.
Polperro Model Village & Land of Legend: Experience Polperro in miniature at the Polperro Model Village & Land of Legend. This whimsical attraction features intricate models of Polperro's buildings and Cornish landmarks, alongside a captivating model railway.
South West Coast Path Walk: Lace up your walking shoes and embark on a scenic coastal walk. The South West Coast Path offers breathtaking views of the coastline, with opportunities to spot wildlife and hidden coves. Explore sections in either direction, heading towards Looe or towards Lantic Bay.
Ebenezer Gallery:Browse the works of talented local artists at the Ebenezer Gallery. This charming gallery showcases a variety of paintings, sculptures, and crafts, offering a glimpse into the artistic spirit of Cornwall.
Visit a nearby town: Explore the charming towns of Looe or Fowey, both located a short drive away. Looe boasts a picturesque harbor, while Fowey offers a vibrant town center with independent shops and restaurants.
There's no place more beautiful to visit on your holiday than Polperro Cornwall. It's a lovely little village and a popular travel and tourist destination

Just watched Looe again and now Polperro. Really enjoyed. I went in the summer of 1989 with my father and these brought back so many nice memories. Thank you.

Another wonderful video of a beautiful Cornish town, slowly being strangled by over -tourism, holiday lets and second homers. I bet hardly anyone local lives there. Nobody about 😞🤷. The video does it proud though. 👍👍

Such a beautiful village! I’ve never visited Polperro and thought it very similar to Port Isaac with the warren of narrow streets. Loved the colours of the rocks on the beach, was it slate? And what could be seen out to see? Looked like a colourful oil-rig haha
