how do they survive you ask? well it's a combination of having an extremely thick fireproof racing suit with padding inside so that if you have a mishap like at 0:40 the crash will be survivable, but that can only protect you so much
My only question is why in gods name there isn’t some kind of tire or saftey barrier for these dudes! Straight concrete wall at 100mph is insane
and 2:20 that's not a fail... that's a win. and what are the odds of something like that ever happening again. at 5:04 talk about a scorching case of road rash, you can see the smoke coming off him as he is sliding down the track. that's where that 4 layer kevlar fireproof suit comes in, it'll protect you from having your flesh torn off your body but like all things if it gets too hot it can burn through

0:58 that is an interesting way to learn to head spin like a break dancer. Normally I would attempt that, except the last time I tried it at 110 mph, mine did not go so smoothly.

this happened in Australia where I'm from. My dad actually was the riders crew chief at the time of the crash. What Chris Matheson (the rider) told the crew, was that he experienced a sort of electrical shock through his left hand from the handlebars (the grip being metal) that made his hand come off the bars. Because he was moving at tremendous speeds, the wind got underneath his hand and practically pealed him off the bike.
Note to self: Do not drag race motorcycles!
