Fishing in the south is not different than the north, it's just harder to catch them because it's so much more pressured. Overall a bass is a bass, plus most of the largemouth are northern strain and spots are so mean they'll bite anything most times

Bassmaster has an opportunity here to buy up the mlf brand and have a mega tour. They could have Bassmaster east and west to finally have a big tour trail out west. They can have the western tournament trail and the east trail then have the Classic be a true super bowl type tournament.

That was actually one of Ray Scott’s visions or dreams. I heard him speak about how he would like to see an east/west trail series with a “Super Bowl” year end.

Enjoyed the show boys, Was glad to hear someone in the industry finally mention the private equity companies that own everything.
More people need to be talking about this. Right now there’s 2 groups of people in the industry- the fisherman/consumers that don’t have the business mind to understand the massive negative impact of having a sport strictly funded by corporate entities that don’t care about the sport…and the guys that do, but they’ll get fired if they speak up 🤷🏻♂️
You are spot on Ben, we as consumers have to take a stand against China and the corporate money grubbers that have the anglers and the leagues by the balls. I will be happy to join you in this effort any way I can. Best of luck in 2024

Millikan is an awesome RUclipsr and he should stick with that but I think professional fishing is fucking doomed if we could have professional bass fishing with Ford facing sonar then why can’t we have professional video gamers that people watch because nobody watches that shit for sport they watched to learn how to do it, and the pros are just showing us their back I’m huge in bass fishing. I probably spent $300,000 in my lifetime so far and I’m not gonna watch the MLF because Poland dinks all day I’m telling you I can build airplanes and I can pull dinks all day me and my buddy just for fun wait our fish we had 40 pounds of dinks, so watching these guys out there with FFS and weenie worm in it is fucking gay and I’m not interested in it anymore. I would like to see five fish limit but without the Ford facing sear because I’m also seeing the lakes, I know says it isn’t true, but I’m telling you guys I’m being objective right I see fish, floating belly up dead large bass every trip now I never saw it before because your average guy out there buys the FFS does not know how to fizz bass and they’re killing fish, I should start a RUclips channel just videotape all the bloated, dead bass matter fact I think I should do that

It’s so weird that you and gussy can come to the south and catch them. The fish up north are so easy to catch . How do you deal with the awful fishing down south coming from the best fishing in North American?
It’s not easy, but the competitive drive makes it all relative !

I fish in the same couple series Ben used to fish in Nebraska and I remember the exact example he’s talking about in 28:30 he caught 22 pounds, which is pretty much unheard of where we are from, and the next week like 8 guys are on his shit so he just slides up shallow and beats us all ripping a chatterbait through the grass. I remember taking him out ice fishing on a local lake and just whacking them and then 10 shacks are exactly where we were set up the day after the vid dropped.
Hahaha what a wild deal! Woods would be a good stop for him for sure .. ol boy is gonna have another busy year though!

Ben is an interesting guy. Love that he’s happy catching everything. Getting after bass, catfish, crappie, trout, and anything else around. Think it’s served him well chasing bass professionally and very confident he’s going to be very good on the elites.

I disagree with the “doors almost closed” thought. I’m subscribed to about 50 channels and there just isn’t enough content put out on a regular basis to fulfill my RUclips time. Most “good” channels only put one full video out and a couple shorts a week. Even Milliken will only put out 2-3 a week on average. That’s less than an hour of content a week
Yeah, but, for someone to start now and make a legit living doing it is nearly impossible. Definitely still room for folks to do it on the side

The camera guy “thing” took off in the late 1990’s with the Japanese invasion, on the Open trail. They would bring at least 6 or more people to report, back to Japan, photograph for newspapers and magazines, along with daily interviews for the Japanese fans….
Definitely a lot of what we do now comes from the Japanese crew

@@jamiebrucefishing Ben is certainly entitled to his opinion. but just because you catch fish doesn't mean you know business 😜 Not all business are the same. A boat dealer is not the same as a bait company releasing products continually and if wraps didn't work why are boats and trucks wrapped? Someone alot smarter than us has determined that they work. I found it interesting Ben took a shot just like Foutz did and those of us on You Tube that have channels that "can't fish". Lots of guys can fish but doesn't mean they educate, inform others. I would argue many channels are nothing more than entertainment oriented showing people all fish they catch but don't teach anyone anything. I think that's why Tactical Bassin is so respected by community.

When a company is in trouble in the bait segment they don't call anglers ; they call investment and capital advisors which in turn guide them to the means of saving their business. I guess Ben opposes the purchase of all the companies invested in by private equity yet where did his own company and sponsors get capital funding from for capturing market share in their space or to finance inventory development?

That’s not good for the fishing industry long term and I cannot understand how anyone thing accountants and financial planners will improve the fishing industry in any way other than extracting the most money they can from their consumers.
Ben run a sunglass company. I think he knows how business works. He isn’t some angler he just happens to also be good at fishing
Nice to mention the two locals who won the Fort Francis tournament. Unfortunately, Clint Barton passed away about a month or so ago after a battle with cancer. Was a good dude.
He sure was. I was lucky enough to meet him once and fish a tournament with his son. Good people.
Always so much MLF hate idgi. MLF livestream is 100x's more entertaining than Bassmasters. B.A.S.S has the history and the bigger name, but that's about it imo. MLF has 7 of the top 10 anglers in the world rankings. That being said I just love fishing and watch them both Oh and Ben is a great interview.

MLF owns Bassfan, not sure how accurate those rankings are. The elites have more anglers, so by formula they should get more ‘points’ per season fished…
