Incredibly musical. And the orchestra followed her beautifully.
This is a nice run-of-the-mill performance by a run-of-the-mill performer.....
I love both her energy and her sensitivity. Very enchanting performance.
this is soo crisp and clean, playful yet not overly done ! I am blown away :)
The entire group have great talent. It sounds like a dream recording. We're all so lucky to have this; thank you who posted this.
So amazing! I love your playing Julia!
Un ravissement tant pour l'ouïe que pour les yeux !
Super!
It's great that she smiles
Just amazing.
@winrx One of the best performences of the concerto ever! She has the correct interpretation and plays with soo much feeling and conviction! Don't be jealous because your not famous like her...
I love how she smiles listening music at 1:34!
she is so talented....!!!!!!
I wonder how many times she had to play that to memorize it. Everyone else had sheet music. Absolutely a brilliant performance.
Julia Fischer, born in Munich, Germany, is of German-Slovakian parentage. Her mother, Viera Fischer (née Krenková), came from the German minority in Slovakia and immigrated from Košice, Slovakia to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1972. Her father, Frank-Michael Fischer, a mathematician who was born in East Germany, moved in the same year from Eastern Saxony to West Germany.
Bravo, Julia.
When I was a small boy, I listened to this piece regularly, but what I was really listening to was Wonder Land Records from, I guess the 1960's. "Robin Hood" with the Hollywood Studio Orchestra & famous broadway actors!
Thanks for this video and 1st & 2nd movement download link, Much appreciated,
My favourite violinist

Exelente..!!
Amzing
What Fun!
EPIC WIN !!!!
music appreciation class!
Elle est merveilleuse il faut avouer.. 3
Ahhhhhhhh wow so crazy beautiful
super !
julia is actually the conductor, he doesn't set the pace, she does.
I don't think they "memorize it". They play it so many times they can't actually forget it. Brilliant performance.
Esto merece más de 5k me gusta
love the conductor's face 2:56
he's giving the wink to julia
@DennyLyons
I guess Mendelssohn would have loved it as you hardly hear an aggressive piece composed by him. He was very aware to produce a "nice, perfect sound" in the orchestra as well for the solo instruments. So I guess this would be his choice.
@Necrosphere85 it is because she is apollonian and not dionysian! ;-)
oh..cute. They all smile ^^
i hope i can play the violin like her. her hands are so fast.
love the conductor's face at 2:57
wow
Concertos are always performed without music, it's usually expected for soloists to perform the piece from memory.
Nice :)
cool
love the conductor's face 2:56
he's liek winking at julia
believe me, the orchestra don't really need the sheet music either. all of them will have rehearsed their parts many times. It's something of a formality in many respects
@i7l4 yes!!!!!! good ear!!!!
BRAVA!!! :)) perferct!!!

Hi, i really enjoy their Mendelssohn, but wonder if Ivan is Julia's Father? i couldn't find any info about their relation.
Jó a csaj is, meg a zene is! :)
i can't barely hear her over the orchestra? Perhaps there is some problem with the recording device?
@winrx When you can play Mendelssohn at this tempoand with the technical perfection that she does let me know.....
c bien
@webmnk And what about Julia Fischer and Daniel Muller?
Mendelssohn would appreciate it if he could hear Julia Fischer.
I think this piece is written by Bruch, not Mendelssohn.
The featured above post mentions she plays with such emotion? The song is so playfull not sure what emotion the reviewer is referencing, not that playfullness isn't an emotion just a bit of a stretch to say the least. This piece is a true testiment to Mendelssohns' youthfull genius and the playfullness youth must explain why I came across this in a Michael Jackson search as that kid was always in search of youth.
Great playing, but I HATE the camera work here. Filming her back from behind, focusing on the horns at an important violin part, focusing too close up on the violinist, etc.
strepitosa ...
At 0:30 there's a woman playing a piccolo!
@r22k10 lol funniest comment ever on utube!!!
This was written by a teenager. If there ever was such bueaty
right, the camera work makes me dizzy
I wish my eyebrows could move as precisely as the conductor's...
If there was anything more glorious... wtf
this concerto isn't "manly" like the Shostakovich or Brahms maybe...i think it's playful and fun and has room for femininity...i think. and she's not exactly known for her masculine interpretations lol, watch her Mozart, they're my favorite.
No......:-)
LOL conduct with eyebrowzzz
There is no relation between Julia and Ivan Fischer whatsoever.
As always - all the notes are there, but there is no soul and passion ...
Beautiful, if rather straightforward playing, and here's the first conductor I've seen leading the orchestra by twitching his eyebrows and ears alone. Hahaha Horrible editing.
This lady is not real, impossible performance
se siente lo que ella toca,,
