Literally grew up as a little kid into my teenage years hearing the Carpenters on the Radio. Mom liked playing the radio in the kitchen when she was cooking or baking . Washing dishes. It was the 70s and the Carpenter’s were ALWAYS on the radio. Also on TV . Beautiful Beautiful music . Can instantly recognize them right off the bat. Karen and Richard were such magic . Too this day I Love everything Carpenter’s. ❤❤😊😊
I’m 67 years old. The Carpenters began their fame in 1969, and I was 13 years old. So the Carpenters took the spotlight during my most formative years. “Close To You” was number 1 on the charts in 1970. Their music felt so right and soothed my soul but it was not considered to be “cool music.” Nevertheless Carpenters music was at the top of the charts for 10 years, along with all the best rock ever. Their music had a strong influence on me and I loved it as much as the “cool music” and the best rock! So, now it’s 2024. Karen passed away in 1983 and Richard is 77 years old. And as I listen almost daily to the Carpenters I feel like so much was lost by Karen’s early passing. Imagine her life if she were still here!!! She would remind us of a time that had the very best music…. ❤

Karen Carpenters has a unique female vocal voice, she is well known in asian and European counries for five decades. She should be included to American Music Hall of Fame.
