What a great video, very well explained and they look very sturdy, i take it you are in the uk (by the electrical plugs in the background) this is the best video i've seen on diy retracts.
Thanks for the great video. You sir have a great mind. I plan on building a Tarot 650 Quad over the winter and I like the retract idea but they were to expensive. You saved me tons with this idea. Thank you.
Also a little help for people looking for the 14mm diameter dowels, I believe a drum stick is the same diameter. Cheaper finding that on ebay than driving around looking for the correct size dowel. Cost me under $3 on ebay for a 14mm drumstick . Just make sure that is the diameter .
Hi Chris, I think we are from the same age. The big difference is .... I´m a newbee and not so handy. I have Tarot FY690 and I´m interested in the way you reconstruct the original ladin gear. So you can do me a favour and do the same thing for me. Let me know what the costs are. I live in the Netherlands.
Hey Chris, Do you know a way to set up your transmitter (futaba preferably) to make the retracts go back down once you put your Mutlirotor in failsafe ? I am using a Naza V2 with a Futaba 14SG and a Futaba R6014HS receiver . Thanks
+Christopher Loesch These ones should go in nicely EMAX Simon Series 30amp ESC The 40 amp ones fit as well but need to be forced in a bit, also get rid of some of the wire to make it as short as possible
You just need to connect the servo lines directly to a spare channel (The one you want to use) on your receiver. Use a Y lead so that both are controlled together. You can get a Y lead from any hobby shop.

Hi Chris,i have ordered the Tarot 680 pro frame, and i think that i will do this Mod with it, Great Video & well explained, Thanks.
Thanks Damien. I filmed them working in the air today so will post the vid shortly
I seem to remember that you can buy long lengths of 14mm dowel at B&Q (if you are in the UK) Admittedly 14mm is hard to find.
Great job and thanks for sharing...by the Tarot had release their own flight controller for their multirotor and good price too..check it out bro
good job Chris and thank you.
Great video Thanks Chris, i will do the same to my frame :)
Very nice and basic. Thanks.
The diameter of the dowel is 14mm, length 40mm. the hole is 5mm diameter.
great video Thx Chris

Mr. Hornby, what are the diameter and length measurements of the dowel needed to insert into the leg? Thanks.

can you explain the wiring issue with apm Please
Wow!
Kinda off subject.... what esc are you using? Ive tried three different ones and they dont fit as clean as yours.

Do you need any type of controller for the retracts , or hook the servo lines straight into your receiver?
