At the strip mall on the right is a lady in a mini skirt. Hemlines were just above the knee in 1961, and gradually climbed upward over the next few years. By 1966, some designs had the hem at the upper thigh, so the mall is contemporaneous with that era. Just some info for accuracy. I enjoy your posts very much Eric. Keep on truck'n (Train'n?) 😁
Nice buildings. I think I’d try putting an extra piece of wire and switch in the forklift plug line - so the forklift could be switched on and off separately and easily.
I'm surprised how nicely they did the details on the strip mall, especially the multiple AC units on the building. The only thing they missed is one of them being broken because one of them is always broken.
I ordered 5 of their structures. They will come with a free lighted Shelby Cobra. I will be picking them up from one of their stores on Friday. I may buy a sixth structure while I’m there.
Chessie was mad because there was no Chessie Railroad ticket office & collectors store in the box. My favorite railroad next to the Pennsy since I am from Pittsburgh & have cats. Love the name for the cat. Do you keep the plastic coverings in case you want to store them ?
What I don't really like about the shopping center is that the Klearvue interior looks odd, and there aren't any fire doors on the back. Other than that, the shopping center looks great! My favorite Menard's buildings they have this year are the nuclear power plant and the animated Alien abduction.
Interesting fact: paper dulls knives and scissors. I was told this when getting into sewing and buying some textile scissors never to cut paper with them or they will dull. And on the buildings, they look great and I hope you'll weather them to bring even more realism into them once they're on your layout.
I would love some of these Menards models but they don’t seem to ship to Australia will have to be content with watching your videos Eric I look forward to them.
@@cadenchristiansen3553 you are an ignoramus. If there were numerous 1:87 aircraft, I'd probably do HO but, there aren't so, I do 1:48 (O/On30) scale. I'm more interested in aircraft than trains anyway.
The big issue I see with these buildings is that you are limited as to where you can put them on your layout, unless you put outlets all over the place, which to me seems time consuming and expensive. I understand the larger adapter can hookup multiple buildings, but it still seems too restrictive. They should have made them so that you can just hardwire them with screw attachments like you would find on a transformer, then you can run any length of wire anywhere you want.
i think its intresting how menards makes all of these buildings loaded with features and they keep em cheap. at least one brand understands that we spent all of the money on trains
I also had a cat named Chessie, sadly we lost him in September.. Yes I'm aware Chesse was a female name but we couldn't resist. He was a maine coon, orange cat as well, but the name stuck anyway.
Lionel's fork truck warehouse has the load seem to disapear as the fork gets close to the platform edge or the awaiting car. The Lionel comes with a control button so you load when it is time to load, not continuously and the load " appears t ito be put into the boxcar.
Hey people! here is a Link to the train section of menards! www.menards.com/main/grocery-home/menards-collectibles/train-stuff-from-menards/c-14331.htm
I saw Chessie in the credits of day 5's video walking around the layout and emerging from your tunnels Where on the layout will you be installing these
I would have preferred the anchor store in the strip mall ve something other than a Dollar store. An anachronism for a train layout running steam, as Dollar Stores are a recent phenomenon. Just a generic hardware store would have been preferable.
I like the fact that it is clearly modern. I have a modern themed layout and it's very hard to find modern era buildings. Steam era buildings are very common.
It's a shame that the interior pictures are shot at an unrealistic angle. I would have figured it would be fairly easy to get a nice angle of any kind of store interior.
Enjoy Day 6 of the 2019 Christmas Bonanza! Helpful Hint: Watch the ENTIRE video. :) Oh yeah, and I'm first. I'm ALWAYS first!
Your are first ericstrains you always are
The man the myth and a legend mr. Eric Siegel himself you are killing it with these reviews not just for the bonanza but every review that you do
Can’t wait eric! Keep it up man
Don't you have a Schneider trusk if you do put it by the forklift
I do!
I always watch to the end. Seems just good manners when you put forth the time and effort to do the videos least I can do is watch the entire video.
Thank you! Yeah, it's sad but stats show the vast majority of people don't so I'm trying to put easter eggs in my videos to keep viewers engaged. :)
Menards does great buildings! Thanks loads and Happy New Years... 👍
I like the animated fork lift that was nifty. And yes day 8 cant wait
I watched to the very end and got a surprise encore visit from Eric.😆
The strip mall is nice, great price, nice details, good review. FYI: It’s footprint is 21”L x 5-3/4”W x 5-5/8” H. 12/30/19
Great video Eric! Looking forward to seeing you live New Year's Day! Thanks for sharing!
That looks awesome, those Menards O scale buildings look great.
I just got the Starbucks and the County hotel , they make really nice buildings.

Eric, I always watch your videos all the way to the end! Looking forward to the q&a! Thanks bro!
Thanks Eric, I love all the menards buildings
Those buildings are sick!! Nice Review!
The only thing I would like to see is doors on the back of the strip mall for each store. Other then that great buildings.
I love the Menards bldgs.! I will be getting a few! Thanks Eric! Go Gators!!!!

Congrats!

Love the name for the cat.

Eric! Nice video! You should doublehead the Shays sometime!
1pm got it I'll be there

I just checked on Menards webpage and holy moly they have a lot of train stuff!
Yep!

Great value.
muchas gracias por subir el video abrazo grande
Excellent review! These would be easy to kit-bash if you wanted to match the era of the layout.
Graco video. Thanks for sharing. LJL
I think they should have an alternate pick for a cat for those who have cats.
I approve the use of this or any other Ka-Bar!
Great video! Oh and also can you review the 2019 vision line challenger?
I would love some of these Menards models but they don’t seem to ship to Australia will have to be content with watching your videos Eric I look forward to them.
te deseo un feliz año nuevo abrazo grande
Very cool video Eric and I watch till the end
Nice needs vent pipes for plumbing
Sounds like a good project fo a rainy day.
Sounds like the Allman Brothers in the background
For some us, $80 or $90 IS EXPENSIVE.
Well maybe you should be in a scale that is cheaper

Cool Trains In Montreal aww
Love the videos

Yes but the Lionel accessory is a lot more expensive as well.
Day 8, Now I know because I made it until the end.......

Did anyone else notice the bandage while he was explaining his knife handling practices? :)
Ha. That was from a non-knife related injury. Scraped my knuckle into on metal bracket earlier in the day. Ouch!
:-|
Oof
That hurts
Hahaha!
It's a shame that the interior pictures are shot at an unrealistic angle. I would have figured it would be fairly easy to get a nice angle of any kind of store interior.
Were did you get this knife from!
All right Eric I’m on to you when’s the Hudson?
Max Nash he did one a while back. It was another great video
Can the knife cut steak? Just a really random question but....
I'm sure it can, but the area where it shines the most is chopping.
I like chessie!!! :3 🐱🐱
😮such a cheap price for such quality
Bad Ass models
Great video, dial back the background music its drowing you out
With the Schnieder building, are those workers union or non union?
