Lovely car Luke, the m2 bumpers actually suit the car very well,it's also got excellent power to the point that apart from brakes and chassis, I can see a lot of m2 owners felling somewhat hurt when this car goes past,well done Luke, keep bringing the hot ones,this thing is cool as ice....
It can go past all it wants still not an m2 or as nice !
@@bespoke500 Got to agree there. Anyone can throw thousands at engine but it still doesnt make it on par with an m2. You gotta change everything, Arms, shocks, brakes, diff just to bring it up to the similar standards and then it will never be as wide and have the same levels of grip. Best to buy an m2 rather than try and tart something up to look like one. THe m2 holds the value these dont unfortunatly.
Fucking love it. The B58 paired with a manual is just perfection.

@@reubenrobinson2304 The diffuser is a bit much i do agree🤣 Its to try help with as much areo/down force as possible at the rear. More for functional use than the looks.👌

There's nothing wrong with the OEM chargepipe of a gen1 B58, just on the N55 they tend to break, and even there it is sort of exaggerated. The LCI.1 B58 such as shown in this video and the LCI.2 B58 have an identical chargepipe.
That being said this M140i is absolutely mental, close to absolute perfection!
This should be the the “1M hatch”

I just got a manual M240i, there were some decent autos for the same money but I don’t think I’d enjoy the car nearly as much that way. It adds so much more to the experience.
These just sound sooo much better in manual than DCT

The algorithm is strong, Matt Armstrong is doing the same crossover and this popped up in my recommendations.

what power is this car pushing? at what point does the gearbox become a limting factor
I think the gs6-45bz Can handle 600-650 NM torque before break and also 1-->2 -->3 Gear you need to bee smooth you Can break so best choice for tuning its ZF8hp50 but Manual Can be perfect for stage 2 maximum i think with maybe a forged clutch
Biggest weakness of the M-Lite platform is the vague and crap steering feedback/feel. The power gets boring after a while when the steering doesn't give any sense of confidence as to what the front wheels are doing in the twisties. Changed mine for an Elise S2 and despite losing the power, it gives me more smiles per mile.
I think you must live near me, I recognise a lot of the roads in your videos! Great videos, keep it up!

Come one Luke. You got the same car. Any m140i is an Lci. After 2018 its an Lci2 with the updated interior/dash... Charge pipes dont crack on them at all..

to the owner - i know the bmw M2 manuals have a limiter on how fast you can change gear or it bogs down...this could be why it lags on a fast change.

An M2 doesn’t have the b58 in it tho... and an M2 comp is defo a lot more than the cost of an m140 and these mods.

Personal preference. I test drove 2 autos M140i before getting the manual version. Manual is much more involving and fun. Auto was quicker but felt boring after 20 minutes.
QCWORLD yesss I literally just bought an LCI manual f21 m135i. Absolutely had to have the manual, the auto was great but massively lacked involvement
