100% spot on!
When in doubt … Throw a Senko!!
a beetle spin on a zebco 33
Great combination...
Caught a bunch on the h&h spinner baits... White and yellow...
Definitely a good combination. Virgil Ward would be proud.
put a frog leg trailer on that, and you will catch huge bass.
😂 🎣
I still catch bass on a plastic worm. I’ve never put it down like most. It still catches them
Senko , most fish catch and most innovative , most fished
Being 74 years old prior to all rubber baits designed, I used night crawlers worms and with a little syringe put a little air in them so they would float. The brightest days we used a black lead head with black buck hair on a size 4 hook with black porkrine
I'm 6o and I did that two learned it from my dad, now you can make your earthworms different colors a chartreuse living earthworm as I live and breathe, I never would have thought in million years I would be injecting a little air into a chartreuse living earth worm, I wonder what my old dad would think of that
I’m 68 and I’m thunkin the same, I used to tell Mabel, who was hiding that cigarette behind her back “thinking I didn’t know she smoked “, I say “Mable, I think that filter on your cigarette make a darn good lure on me number two hook , cot a lot of them durn tulabee!
Thanks! Randy!
Thank you, Mike!
Roland Martin did a video and he said the same thing about the Senko , just to let you know MrRandy , I agree too
Green pumpkin
Son! Color 297. 🎣
I completely agree Randy
Nice video Randy. For me growing up in South Florida, it was hands down the 6' and 7 1/2' Culprit Texas rigged worms with a 1/16oz. black bullet wt. with a 2/0 or 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hook. I'm still using them now that I live in P.A. with similar results.
I started fishing again in 2016 after retiring. New to bass fishing.
I read a fishing book, and it talked about "Senkos"
Gosh, what new fangled thing is this?
Then I looked at the date of the book "1994" (I think).
I'm 30 years behind everything :)
Same here brother, Retired a bit ago, but just picked fishing back up 3 years ago, so much to learn.
If I had to survive on the fish I catch, I'd choose a small swim jig. Catches crappie, bluegill, bass and catfish
I'm with you 100 %
When my other lures don't work I throw a black and blue flake senko and it always produces bass of all sizes. Total agreement with you Randy
For me personally my all time favorite bass lure I ever used was the Torpedo. I caught my first bass and my first crappie (the crappie was and still is my pb). It was the first lure my dad got me when he bought me a snoopy dog fishing pole back in 92 or 93. I loved hitting clear water ponds that had grass in shallows and I'd look for big ol round open spots especially when bass were on beds and popping that Torpedo over the opening and watching it just get destroyed.
Yo i would love to see a video "Over dozen ways to fish a soft plastic stick bait"!!!
I agree it’s a great bait since they make it in a lot of sizes. I also think the tube is a great plastic bait. It works for me when the senkos don’t. They are both a great invention.
A 1962 Mitchell 300 spinning reel with a bobber and shiners
I would have guessed a jig or Senko. I remember fishing the Lunker City Slug-Go as a kid prior to the release of the Senko.
i like a zoom finesse trick worm a lot too
For me it’s a swim jig with a rage bug as a trailer. I can jig/drag on the bottom, reel fast, fish heavy cover, skip it under docks and low trees. Literally can do almost everything with it.
OMG! Might be the first time we agree on something ;)
I have never caught a single thing on a senko 🤷♂️ crankbaits and dark sleepers are my jam.
4" finesse worms and spinnerbaits for me👍
I think ypur right. Last week i was fishing a shakeyhead with a trickworm like normal. No bites. I put a Berkley General on the shakey, and got bit on my first cast.
Yamamoto's Fat Ika seems now to be the better producer here in Cali..(Where the Senko gained it's fame)Visited a friend several years ago in Ohio and we fished the Ohio River..I was the only one nailing all the smallies that day and everyone hit me up what i was using..They had never heard of it before..Excellent bait
I think I could make a pretty good case for a jig. A Spinnerbait is pretty solid and predates both and I’ve probably caught more fish on one than any other bait. I could probably do all my fishing with a Senko, Spinnerbait and Jig since I catch about 90% of my bass on those three baits.
It's the one that caught me my most memorable fish.
Worm or spinnerbait before watching
I say brush hog
Well I was wrong!
will he mention a rattle-trap"
The flying lure 😂
Bill Dance’s swimming eel🤣
Before I watch this video, I am going to say the plastic worm. I remember hearing that the plastic worm was the best back in 1980 something, lol!!
A wacky rig is my top catcher but a bitsy bug/rage menace trailer rigged like a bluegill imitation has been 2nd best!
Soft plastic stickbait is most used lure in my boat, by far most versatile baits.
Absolutely the best lure ever. Senko in green pumpkin.
what's amazing is that is is easy to use. I run it 3-4 different ways.
I use the worms probably 60%of the time.Ive split the tail,I like weightless more than not..I've experimented by sliding a worm into a tube for more action and have had a lot of success with it.
IMO, a spinnerbait is the most versatile bass bait...can catch fish from top to bottom, open water to heavy cover, cold water to warm water, clear water to muddy
I have to agree. I have caught more bass the last 50 years on spinnerbaits then all other lure combined. Everything from waking them on the surface to dragging a "thumper" on the bottom. My biggest largmouth came on a spinnerbait, (10.2). And my second biggest smallmouth (6.8). And for night fishing, its my favorite.
Spinners dont get anything close to what plastics get me. Might get some 2 pounders but a 5 inch craw is getting them 4 - 5 pounders
@@therealkosmora229 talking about versatility...spinnerbait can be fish top to bottom at every depth effectively...soft plastics have some limitations throughout the water column
@@andybales7318 that's true. Seems to work for alot of people. I just don't get bit much with a spinnerbait at all, I sometimes put it on for Pike. Even they barely hit it. They'd rather bite off my plastics, big ones to
I have done very well letting them just sit for over three minutes.
Don’t touch it with touch of slack line.
Wait for the tick on the line!
Trust The Truth.
I avoid them for a few years.
I was big on Berkeley worms.
I broke down and bought a bag.
Very first cast big fat delta bass way over 7lbs. ?
The senko obviously.
The helicopter lure 😂
Called it.
White 3 Quarter ounce Rooster tail 😂. Silver blade. 😂
I don't get it..what's so funny..
@@vgee3926 Fishing lots of Fun. We are constantly learning how to catch that big one. 😂
#1 Senko
#2 Spinnerbait
3#Fluke
My favorite 3
Agreed
Yep! Then the worm
Sinko is just a knock off of the slugger imo, I agree though it’s a go to bait for sure.
I'm not a bass guy, I fish in the saltwater. But my biggest bass bit a wacky rigged Googan version of the Senko. It was a 3.64 lb spotted bass in Lake Norman, nothing impressive. But what is interesting to me is that now something similar to the Senko is catching on in the saltwater. I just got a pack of Salt Strong Polk County Tweekers (yes that's really the name 😂) and they're a little more tapered at the ends. And they have dimples like a golf ball, supposedly for longer casts. They're intended to be used on jig heads or weedless weighted hooks or Texas Eye type swinging heads with weedless EWG hooks. But I bet I could get redfish to eat them wacky rigged if I can see the fish. I'll try it if I can find some reds I can sight cast to. And I also think a wacky rig would catch flounder. Right now I have a hard time finding the fish to catch them.
Where are you fishing?
@@davelindsey6890 the Chesapeake Bay around Hampton and Poquosun, sometimes Gloucester or Yorktown or Norfolk or Portsmouth. But pretty close to Hampton VA.
@@comfortablynumb9342 Ah, ok. I've never fished above about 35 degrees north latitude, so I am no help.
@@davelindsey6890 I need a boat. It's that simple, and that complicated. I can't afford one. I have a kayak and I do okay with it if I can get out. The wind has kept me on the piers mostly this year so far.
I'm going to say the jig while I wait for this zeljance commercial to end
I’ll give you the top three of all time. Banjo minnow, Helicopter Lure, Gatorbait
When I lived in Florida, I caught thousands of Bass, Tarpon, Peacock and Snook on the 5' Original Banjo. The Blue Shad was my favorite. I still have several hundred's of them and even though I keep them in Ziploc Bags, they're a little dry.
My guess would be an original floating Rapala minnow.
Rapala original minnow 🤗
Flying lure or Roland Martin's helicopter lure🙄👍
Haven’t got tru the video yet but give me a jig& pig once I I “mastered “ it if the fish aren’t biting I’ll tie on every color I can think of on all my rods and pound every inch of bank
Ribbontail, silver minnow, jig n pig, chug bug, spook, senko is too new to be on all time list imo.
Just at the start, I’m guessing a 5 inch senko/stickbait.
My guess, before watching the video, either a jig or lipless crankbait. Basing it off Buck Perry’s teachings.
I tried that YELLOW Faced Lure on your Click Bait........Was the VERY Best ever please Mfg that for us....Jer C!
My heart wants to say spinnerbait......but the truth is it's the Senko, stick bait, plastic worm, whatever you want to call it. It's the top dog IMO.
I always have a rod rigged up with one every time I'm out. It can save the day when nothing is working.
Senko
Heddon River Runt
Forgot about the trick worm ?
Old Jitterbug on a rusty spinning rod with a half working bail and twisted line.
For here that Senko wacky rigged with no weight and it Texas rigged weightless is my 2 favorites cause of the ton of vegetation
In all my years of fishing, I can count on one hand the # of fish I have caught on a stick bait, and two of them were on a wacky rig. I normally fish it Texas rigged but I just don’t do any good with it. And not just a stick bait worm….No worm bait of any size does any good in the ponds I fish. It’s another bait I call a “boat only” lure. Just don’t have any confidence in it fishing from shore like I do.
The number one bait of all time is what ever works on a given day
The same. Spinnerbait or worm. Pretty much all my fish come from different styles of fishing a worm
Gitzit aka tube for me.
I thought squarebill, spinnerbait, worm. I suppose there's lots of factors .
Zoom speedcrawl or rage crawl is year round bait for me. I've had much better luck with the crawl than the senko
The Jitterbug
Wave Worns!!!
Richard Gene
I teach you Randy, a plastic worm or Senko. Just don't use it for stripers.
A tube should be considered,
So, hypothetically, $250K fishing tournament, you can only use 1 lure, whats your choice? I will choose a spinner over a worm or crank bait any day of the week.
plastic worm
then
spinner bait nunber 2
Anyone who owns a dock will tell you that the best catcher bait for all species, bass included is live bait.
The Senko's introduction and its simplicity devastated traditional tackle makers and forced many into bankruptcy. It took years for the industry to recover. It severely damaged fish populations, too. People who couldn't fish before immediately started catching fish by simply putting a hook into a Senko and casting. I sure hope that FFS and the jighead minnow don't result in the same devastation.
It's impossible to fish a Senko incorrectly. ALWAYS have one tied on.
Johnson spoons
It's still a plastic worm. So the plastic worm is the greatest bass lure of all time.
I don't need to watch the video ... The stick bait by far has be the best all time bass lure
Pop R
I’ve caught as many on a super pop r as any other bait
Its a senko
$200 glide bait 😂
Air worm
Ok, I stopped the video and I'm gonna say that most people would guess the jig but I'm gonna say the good old plastic worm???
Hula Popper
Maybe one of the most versatile, but, "The No. 1 Bass Lure Of All-Time" is a bit too much of a stretch.
Sorry man . Best bass lure is a black magnum trick worm.
Spinnerbait
Rapala
Live bait ;)
Wacky rig them and they always seem to produce.
Chatterbait
Jitterbug
This is obvious...
Plastic worm. Now let's what Randy says...
Id say jig. All year. All water types and can be rigged to mimic several baits
