Hello CE, I've used this idea for years. The smudge marks maybe the natural oil deposits from your fingers tips on the key buttons. The oil dries and collects dust. When the screen cover closes and meets the key buttons this dirt transfers to the screen and on my MacBook leaves horizontal smudge marks on the screen which I notice the next day. Use a piece of 8 1/2" x 14" printer paper to shield the screen from the keys when you close the screen cover. You will need to trim this reusable paper to size to fit within your MacBook.

Well, my screen is dirty, so I can't really see the clean screen of yours...
I hate that even when I don't touch my screen somehow the prints still transfer from the keys when the lid is closed 😤🤦
Certainly trying that tomorrow. Hate a dirty screen🤨
The key is to rub circular

it helped me clean my Mac
I’ve heard that other people say you should always turn off the mac before cleaning the screen but I also do the same of only dimming the screens brightness. Should I be worried of any bad consequences or it’s just fine?
Don't forget to remove the tag to avoid micro scratch marks
Don't just any liquid on the screen, it can remove the oleophobic coating. Use plain water only
Im guessing your not a big fan of the whoosh product right?
water can ruin the coating
best tutorial
I have always used iKlear cleaner/polisher on my screens and have been very pleased with the results. Has anyone here used both iKear and Woosh? I have read some comments about how Woosh negatively affects the oleophobic coating on screens on the long term.
Do we need to wash the cleaning tissue? If yes, when and how do we need to wash it? Thanks.
Thank You my friend!
Very useful video.
My new m1 MacBook is coming, do I need to sanitize it? I wonder if the production and software installation of the device involves human touching the device.
