My best friend had a mammy, her food was delicious. If I went over after school she would fill us up. Very sweet considerate woman. Her grandkids would come by & hang out on the regular.
@@gregscrabshack2307 I had a nanny. Grew up in Chicago, two kind Ukrainian women. Tried to find them when the war started, couldn’t. Wanted to help their families like they raised me.
@@gregscrabshack2307 Thought about things some more. My Oma and Opa raised me until adolescence, folks still busy then. They were German, I loved them more than my parents. Without my Oma, I’d never love life so much. I miss them dearly.
I read on Wikipedia (looked it up to understand some of the references, like the dad being air dropped a picture of a monkey’s anus bc of the trini phrase “the higher a monkey climb, the more he show his ass”) that this was the lowest rated episode of the season and I got so sad. I know a lot of it is meant for satire but the scene after the funeral fight makes me so emotional. “This is how we sad”😭 reminded me of my own family.
Honestly my favorite episode of S3. IDK if you guys noticed but the Dad started learning and becoming obsessed with Trinidadian culture. And its obvious that Sébastien (the son) is 25% Trini himself😂. All because of Ms.Silvia Hosanna 😭😭
The mom irritated me this episode cuz she seemed so resistant to engaging with Trinidadian culture even though a Trini woman basically was raising her son. But she was fine with Sebastian learning mandarin lol
It might be the realization by the white family that they don’t have a real connection to their son like their deceased caretaker did. How the caretaker’s family felt that she should have had a stronger presence in their lives and that the connection she had with the kid should have been theirs.
As um misogynoir as Donald Glover can occasionally be, I’m happy he gave homage to black/immigrant domestic workers who basically give up time with their children to take care of other women’s children in this one
@@JK-vm7yoidk man but he said in one of his comedy sets he came hella hard when this non black woman was like give me that n*gger dick or sumn so idk if he’s changed but he is questionable
This kid crushed this role
For those who live in NYC and seen lil white kids with an old Caribbean lady, u know the vibes🙌🏿
mammy work

Mammy is an offensive term from slavery

That Trini accent is seriously so awesome!! I could listen to it all day...
Seems like you should come visit T&T some time 😅
@@trini2DBone134 I'm from Australia. I'll make the trek to T&T some time and try my best Trini accent over my Aussie accent... XD ;)

My dad is from trinidad i always wished i couldve had his accent
Down here in miami they definitely get down
The kid is Trini to de bone
Now the Chet Hanks scene makes sense. Those parents were basically looking into the future 😂.
Her reaction to him finishing her sentence is one of the best moments of the whole show
he is such an adorable kid, this has been my favorite episode thus far for this season!
That little boy is adorable 😊
But nah fr 🥹
I couldn't stop laughing. I loved this one and richbwigga poorwigga the most!

All these episodes are so intelligently written and it's unfortunate that people don't give them a chance because they do have merit
i didn't quite get what the pic meant

the door pounding, my favorite Atlanta ghost story
Why was it scary? It was just wholesome and interesting imo
