I’m using the corner patch and split image sonyhe lag between OVF to EVF is minimum. This work even better on the x-pro 2 due to a pro 3 unfortunate lack of magnification glass in 35mm frame. Saddly Cosina /Fujifilm also didn’t get it right to enable exif and frame line connection on previous x-pro body’s

Hi. Great overview of Voigtlander on X Mount. I went and bought the 27mm f2.0 using it on my XT3. The focus snap is exactly as you described, what a great manual focusing experience, I turned peaking off. It's a joy to use. You have a really great kit of manual lenses there, happy shooting!

Wow, someone else who gets it, it's a meant-to-be synergy that somehow Fuji have failed to take advantage of. Just wish the 35mm was a tad sharper. Oh, add a focus tab, the type that you glue on to the focus ring, that just completes the experience for me. Thanks for sharing.

Fujifilm missed the boat when they released the X-Pro1. To be charitable, the autofocus of those three lenses with the X-Pro1 was less than inspiring. Imagine if Fujifilm had produced two versions of their original three lenses: an autofocus, auto everything lens and a 100% mechanical, manual focus version.
I realize that camera companies are loath to go backwards in technology. The styling may be retro, but the tech better be cutting edge. Nevertheless, I feel that this was a missed opportunity to couple their retro styling with film era style lenses that were engineered for their sensors. It would have snared an entire generation of us old film dudes and dudettes. Instead we were left with a great camera with a subpar auto and manual focus experience.

A Xpro 3 is 1500 and a Leica cl is (used) is also this price and a Leica m240 is also this price . So you can have the Leica experience with a used Leica. And I can agree with you! The Fuji viewfinder is good ! I would love to have it in a Leica !

Great video. Shoot on a xpro1 and have been looking at buying a couple of manual focus lenses. Thanks for the information regarding the lack of electronic information if I put these lenses on my Xpro1’s….I didn’t realise that! Loved your presentation and clear and concise views. Your best bet for the X-Pro1 is to get Voigtländer M-Mount lenses and Fujifilm's M-Mount adapter. I'd avoid the cheap adapters as they often have flange distance issues so the lens focuses past infinity and the distance scale is wrong.
The other good thing about the Fujifilm adapter is that it has a button that when pressed, pulls up the lens mount menu choice so we can change the focal length of the lens, which will then appear in the EXIF data.
I had the M-Mount lenses in 21mm f4, 25mm f4, and 40mm f1.4 and they all worked great. Some of my best street shots were done with these lenses and the X-Pro1

      No worries. Cheers!
I was wondering, how is your creative process different with any X-T3/4/5 models as compared to XPro?

    • @hooked4lifeca
      @hooked4lifeca 7 месяцев назад

@@justjd911 I slow down with X-Pro and have become much less reliant on the technology. I even carry it differently (wrist strap vs. neck). I tend to be purpose driven with the other cameras, while I'll meander with the X-Pro with nothing in mind. With the X-Pro I tend to go out with just one prime lens, while with the other cameras, I mostly use zooms and tend to carry a few lenses with me. Basically, I shoot with the X-Pro as if it was an old, all manual, film camera.

    Hi Peter!
I have a question that I can't for the life of me find the answer to anywhere, even though I think it's important; do the framelines move to correct for parallax when focusing these lenses in OVF mode? I'm thinking of getting an XP3 and a 35mm 1.2 but not unless I know it works properly for sure.
Thank you for the video, and the answer in advance! :)

Yes it does. With these lenses we have all of the functionality of the equivalent Fujifilm prime, except for AF.

Great video. I don’t have Voigtlander yet, I was trying to emulate the process on a manual TTArtisan but instead of be trough the focus ring, a button. I’m on OVF and I press a button and it switches to EVF with 100% zoom, I nail focus with focus peak and press the shutter and go back que OVF. It’s more accurate than the small EVF on the right corner of the OVF but I also feel it a bit slow because there is a lag when the xpro3 switches between OVFEVF. I believe you may feel the same on the Voigtlander because this is not lens related, it’s the xpro3 system changing between viewfinder, right?

I've found that the X-Pro3 behaves exactly the same with the Voigtländers as it does with Fujifilm primes when on manual focus. I can't say I notice any lag. The merest touch on the Voigtländer focusing ring and the camera instantly goes into EVF punched in focusing mode. A half press on the shutter release and it's back to OVF.

Guess what I was doing when the notification of your comment arrived? Putting together some videos of my Voigtländer results.
I used to have videos of my street photography on an earlier channel, but I took it down a few years ago. I'll have to think about putting together one or two of those videos as well.

      I'm a big fan of the Voigtlander X-mount lenses too. I have the 23mm f1.2, 27mm f2, 35mm f1.2, and the 35mm macro f2. I've been using them exclusively on my X-T4 so far.@@photographybypetercharles9939
