I rig these with a SWS in 1/8 with the hook eye coming through the first segment and the hook point coming through the head. It gives a great kicking action and great for flathead.

So many choices.
Just keep it simple please. That’s why I took up this hobby. Everything was simple... get a pre spooled rod-reel set, buy hooks and you’re all set.
That’s how dad did it 40 years ago.
