  • The Adidas Takumi Sen 10 is the latest version of the brand’s lightweight speed shoe. According to Adidas, it’s designed for training and racing up to 10k, featuring two layers of Lightstrike Pro cushioning along with Energyrods to provide a propulsive and snappy toe-off and minimise energy loss.
    There’s a mesh upper designed to offer a high level of breathability as well as wick sweat away from the foot, a Slinglaunch heel construction for a locked-down fit, and a traditional lacing system to ensure there’s no slippage.
    Tom and Nick have taken the shoe out on a first run to see if it delivers.

    To all that you said in the review you can add incredible longevity. My 8's have 386 miles on them - still going strong and I'm using them as a daily trainer. They have become a bit more flexible than my much lower mileage 9's, guess the energy rods fatigue, but still snappy. I weigh 147 lbs which probably helps.

      Wow, very impressive longevity for the racing shoes with racing foam, seems like I need to try them on, instead of wasting money on another pair of nike.

    I’ve got the 8s, really like them for going fast. I have a high cadence and these are ideal; hit the ground and go, no delay.

    Not sure why this shoe is so over looked. I have most of the high end race and performance shoes from all the major brands and the Takumi Sen 9 is by far my most versatile shoe (the Endorphin Pro 3 is on par but has a different feel). If you're using this for track only I'm confused, why use a road shoe on the track and then call it over priced? I use this for slow runs, speed repeats, hills and have a couple of half's in the bag with no issue at all. I got the Boston 12 after hearing that many reviewers think it feels like the TS and it's not even close, the Boston is a brick compared to the TS!

    Query on sizing, why do you appear to think that UK sizes are universal between brands? A UK 9 in a Nike will be a UK 9.5 in an adidas. So when you say "this is my normal size" which brand(s) are you talking about?

    • @macewindex564
      @macewindex564 6 месяцев назад

      Adizero doesn't have much padding around the heel collar so a 9uk adidas = 9uk nike. Because Nike has more padding

    • @macewindex564
      @macewindex564 6 месяцев назад

      But other adidas has more padding so you need to go 9.5uk. It depends on the model

    • @keitheager6023
      @keitheager6023 6 месяцев назад

      If you're a big boy I would get the pro 3. The Takumi Sen is very direct feeling. I find I really have to be going fast to get the most out of it. Track session shoe.

    I did five 5Ks and a downhill mile in the Takumi Sen 8 last year and they were surprisingly comfortable, but they weren't as fast on my feet as I had hoped. I did eventually set a new 5K PR of 22:31 wearing them, one whole second faster than my previous best which was done in the Endorphin Speed. For my relatively slow pace, I think perhaps a bouncier shoe would work better.

    What abt compare with Asics Magic Speed 3?

    • @Anatoly_Tsvetkov
      @Anatoly_Tsvetkov 6 месяцев назад

      Magic speed 3 with daily flyte foam blast+ and takumi sen with premium racing foam lightstrike pro are not in the same league, I think they are more comparable with boston 12. Asics S4 with racing upper and flyte foam turbo are more comparable with takumi sen but they are only available in Japan

    Is it better for 5k-10k races than the Adios Pro 3? Does it give you more energy return?

    • @nightlockgaming3876
      @nightlockgaming3876 6 месяцев назад +1

      For 5k’s Vaporlfies (2 or 3) are the fastest. Takumi Sen 8 or 10 would be my second options

      @@nightlockgaming3876 Takumi's easily last 2x-3x more than Vapors unless you want like 100% speed no compromise like Endorphin Elite.

      “What is better: AP3 Or Takumi Sen 10?
      -Vaporflys”
      😅😂

    • @therunophil
      @therunophil 6 месяцев назад

      "energy return" primarily depends on the resilience of the foam, which, as far as we can tell, is at least very similar (both have some Lightstrike Pro flavor). The higher stack in the AP3 could theoretically be compressed more, and then spring back stronger than the TS, but how much you will engage the foam very much depends on your biomechanics. I never heard anyone complain about bottoming out in the TS. There is no best shoe, just shoes that work better or worse for certain individuals. I like the dynamic feeling of the TK9 for shorter distances and the softer feeling of the AP3 for longer runs (well, I would if it didn't eat up my heels) but some use the TS to race marathons.

    • @aitorcristianraposeiras4882
      @aitorcristianraposeiras4882 6 месяцев назад

      @phil6450 that was my question because I have both the TS8 and the AP3 and I "feel" I can make better times in 10k races with the AP3 than with the TS8 and I was wondering if this new version "gives you" more energy return than the TS8 due to the new energy rods configuration and (maybe) the more rocker...
