Plug n play BFD included in the kit, that's impressive! The module itself is what it is, a slightly above entry level ekit, but having a VST included is a great offer. Well done for mentioning it's dependant on the computer's power though.

I already have an older surge that I use for quiet practice but will definitely get the BFD player when it gets a full release next year to record with since it'll be much easier than trying to get a good sound from my acoustic kit with one mic.
Live will still be the acoustic kit though.

I just bought this kit from Sweetwater Sound today since I live about 30 minutes from there. Easy to put together, and the sounds are great. I love the 10" snare. It DID come with a cheap set of sticks in the accessories, but I got the accessory pack bundle on sale with headphones, throne, and some VIC American Classic sticks that are still just a bit light weight for me, but they'll do for now. I haven't looked at the software yet, so this video was pretty cool to explain.

I know it has ports for an extra Tom and extra Cymbal but they don’t actually sell the Tom/Cymbal for it. I know there is ways to work around and use the nitro kit but it puts me off there is no replacements for it.

It may need to be a bit back from the other electronics in case there is a hum from it. but this LED would be low voltage. HUMM

This is definitely worth the $500 I payed for it. The drums heads all feel great, the pedals also feel great. The rubber high hats are fine but obviously don't feel like real hats. A lot of people complain about the sounds on this module for a reason, but they aren't unusable. The BFD player came with a code only for `Dark Mahogany' and it sounds nice. I wish I had been able to choose the free kit.
The size is perfect for my family studio it's not to small for me at 6 ft and not to big for my 5 year old. Also the rack can fold in for quick storage.

What gave me concern about the Alesis in this video was that they’re already bypassing the drum module. They’re relying on everyone who buys this kit, having access to a laptop etc.
My advice, as someone who tried lots of kits before buying my Roland TD17, is go for Roland. It might be worth looking at the second-hand market too as people are always upgrading.
Support is good with Roland as well. They recently updated the firmware for the TD17 to include twenty more kits plus software refinements. There’s also loads of third party packs available too, some for free and some have to be bought.

@@ravusursi893 I'll look into it. I have Logic and have a lot of access to decent sounding kits with multi recorded hits so it's not one sound with velocities that are just volume changes. The producer kits are pretty awesome in Logic. Alesis keeps advertising this BFD drum pack/plug in , but I keep seeing people who've bought this drum kit complaining that it didn't automatically come with it when they thought it would.. and this is this year when it supposedly starts shipping with it. I buy my stuff from Sweetwater and yeah, I don't see them advertising this 'free software'. It's making me want to buy the Roland. The stock sounds in the Alesis sound like crap to me. The only thing making me question those Roland models is I've seen a lot of people having issues with the actual hardware breaking etc. I'm also seeing that the USB connection isn't midi compatible. That right there is a no go for me. .... Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have to go for the Alesis even though the brain's sounds are crap... I was planning on the kits in my DAW anyway. Just hope there aren't too many issues with that being a pain in the ass. Stuff is not always just simple plug and play.

Listen to allllll that crap machine-gunning on the snare drum. Save your money for a Roland TD07. Alesis is a joke.

It said something about being a random winner and to leave a message at the above address to claim the prize. This is a scam right?
