    I’m glad you’re taking your healthcare into your own hands. Say what you want for the medical system in the US, but we usually don’t have gaps that long. There are also free clinics in most cities. We have places like Lab Corp and Quest Diagnostics that now offer these types of tests for a reasonable fee without doctor’s orders.

      Thank you so much! The clinics are a great idea, I’ve experienced a severe worsening of my nerve pain since doing this finger collection so in hindsight, don’t think this last resort option that we have is that good :/ it is, at least, accurate, but at what cost since my nerve pain is so much worse now

      @@GeorginasJourney I’m so sorry girlie. Nerve pain is rough. I’ll take a dislocation all day over the nerve pain. I’m on the max dose of Lyrica and still struggle so I get it. I wish you the best of luck.

    Oh god I had so much trouble doing the Randox blood test after I tested positive for thyroid antibodies but GO didn’t want to investigate further. Am going to do a Medichecks one for Sjogren’s as I’ve been having issues with my saliva glands forever

      I hope you do okay with it, this test triggered the nerve pain in my fingers so badly & I still get sharp shooting pains from it now of if put pressure on it!

    Hey Georgia, can you please make a video on how to deal with noisy environments when chronically ill? I'm coping very poorly. Thank you, your videos are very helpful.

    Maybe along with drinking water and putting your hands in warm water I have found my blood will go to the tips of my fingers much better if i shake my hands vigorously before pricking them.

      I thought I was used to lancets as I do blood glucose but the lancet in the kit is something else!! It was still less difficult than getting blood out of my veins though I had excruciating blood draw at the hospital I screamed and cussed

      Are you from uk too? They usually don’t until it’s over 5 here! I can see your concern with it though as other countries treat it above 2 to keep in optimal range! Ended up with half of my thyroid removed & the other half has a tumour they won’t even monitor so U.K. is terrible for thyroid problems

    Poking veins at home is not a best idea.
    Grape juice is the best drink right after the blood test

    • @GeorginasJourney
      @GeorginasJourney  2 месяца назад +2

      Finger pricks with a lancet are how many diabetic & hypoglycaemic patients test their blood sugar levels every day! I wouldn’t advise doing this finger pricks test very often since it requires a couple of extra drops of blood, but I certainly wouldn’t compare it to poking veins! And grape juice would not be necessary after this as only a few drops of blood are taken, & drinking the water beforehand ensures the blood is dilute & so even less blood is actually taken in actuality 😊
