Swahili is a beautiful language.
Yes it definitely is
Heck yeah, I fell in love with it after watching the Lion King
Agreed
so true
Is it hard to learn?
Did anyone else get chills while listening to this song not knowing what they where saying
I received.Wonderful song.Praise the lord
Chills, every time chills. Musical score hits just right without fail
i was crying for a week long when heard this on tv on a sunday morning... didnt know it was a religious themed song...when its kicks in at 1.40... so powerfull
No chills, but I knew I liked it from the first time I heard it as the introduction song for Civilization 4.
Yes I do!
This song moves me to tears most of the time.
And I'm an atheist.
Doctor? You still have Time...
music is universal ♥
For years I've loved this song and I never looked at the English lyrics to this song. I was shocked to see it was the Lord's prayer. As a Christian this brought a huge smile to my face.
same, but in reverse
Even as a non-christian this song made such an impression on me as a child, and finding out that it's the lord's prayer does not make love this song any less. This song (for me) is a celebration of diversity and if anything it means even more to me now knowing what it is
@widjajaa I'm recently woken up christian and I woke up into being mostly what I describe as sceptical agnostic/ateist because of many reasons I don't want to run into detail too much in here. So anything with religious (especialy christian) taste becomes bitter for me if you know what I mean... beautiful song anyway and still my top 10 most favorite music
Essas descobertas surpreendem....da mesma forma, o fato de a música ter sido composta para um vídeo game....Civilization IV.....salvo engano...
@widjajaa Christianity is not the "Truth" just let people believe what they want to believe and don't be so cocky and think that your belief system is any less false than the others.
I'm not trying to be an a**hole or anything it just really pisses me off when religious people get all "accept Jesus and find the truth" when other people mention they are agnostic or atheist.
It's impossible to feel sad or angry while listening to this song.
Only happiness can be felt while listening to this song
Celebration
Happy yes, but why angry?
It turns out, not when your country attacks another country, murders a lot of innocents and also being cut out from world economy.
👍🏻
As a Christian, It was amazing after playing this game for years to find out that this song was the lords prayer in Swahili. To spread the word of God unto the ends of the Earth and it was amazing that Sid Meier's had been doing this through video games. I always hoped to see more of this.
Ik agree 👍
i thought it meant King in general which is why this is in Lion’s King 😂
This is why I love this song. It truly is a beautiful piece that I had the pleasure of preforming with my high school choir a few years back. And yes it’s turned out just as beautifully
What's the name of the game?
@@akinwarebreakthroughCivilization 4
A literal translation. It's really just the Lord's Prayer.
It really is :)
Sure is!
It took me years to finally know and understand and even appreciate this song. Never in a million years I thought that this song is actually a prayer song. Tq everyone and tq Lord
Civilization IV. I knew I was about to lose weeks of my life when I loaded that game for the first time... To THIS. This is such a beautiful song, everything about it just works.
Yeah I felt the same to like you go look at civilopedia and reading about the leaders you'll be playing as that music playing in the background just makes you feel the history coming to you
Wait, there's a game? I thought it was weird for steam to be selling music...
Swahili is one of the most beautiful languages, I wish I could speak it. Much love from the UK.
This song genuinely brings a tear to my eye
I am so grateful to see English translation the power of this song in any language is addictive to those that know HIM amen 🙏
Amen, glory to Christ the Lord. I'm always moved to tears hearing this song 🙏❤️
I didn't realize this is a Pater Noster version in Swahili. Best version in every language for sure
Vater unser im Himmel,
geheiligt werde dein Name.
Dein Reich komme.
Dein Wille geschehe,
Amen.
Religion: Sehr gut
*cough* e-nomime *cough*
We sung this in the actual native language for my concert and it was so beautiful
I can finally sing this properly, *thank you*
Thanks!

Now I don't sound like those ppl attempting to sing the Circle of Life😂
😄😄😄haha
Im still struggling with the part tunavyowasamehe

Just sneeze while spewing letters and ur good😂
I never knew it was the Lord Prayer in swahili. Its beautiful 😔✝️👍
1:38 I always wondered why I was so shook by the powerfulness of this part of the song. And turns out that it's my favorite part of the Lord's Prayer: "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done..." (Matthew 6:10).
I cant help but think about Christ in Gethsemane, saying "Take this cup away from Me, nevertheless Thy will be done.", and proceeds with the crucifixion. Tears me up everytime...
Glory to Jesus, the Lord and our only Saviour 🙏❤
Best Song Ever I heard, because of the lyrics by Our Lord and Savior, the Director General of the Universe JESUS CHRIST.
Im obssessed with this song. The way is sang so heavenly. Its like the gate of heaven is opening and angels welcoming you.
Amen to that
Shame it’s not complete. Misses out “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
@@bella-bee 1:39
@@bella-bee it is complete. Bridge section at 1:39 has it.
@@bella-beeIt definitely has it at 1:39. No wonder I find that the best part of the song; it's my favourite request of the prayer 🙏❤️
I want this played at my funeral. A beautiful and Blessed song.
This song moves me to tears, the majesty...Oh my Lord in heaven!
My choir did this last year i was so blessed to be apart of it 🙏
Please share the music score..
This is literally my childhood , sang in my primary 2 choir, ill never forget this song, and the lyrics.
im an agnostic and im crying af
@Alive For Tomorrow shut up please

Jesus is calling
I once was too brother. Take the "Our Father" to heart; you're loved more than you can possibly imagine.
This song is so emotional. I love it. It will keep me strong through these hard times in Eswatini.
I’m an atheist, and I don’t care that this is literally the Lord’s Prayer, I’ll still sing and enjoy it for the amazing song it is. To me, it’s not the Lord’s Prayer, it’s a song of unity, of bringing people together from all walks of life, and that’s what I’ll enjoy it as.
9After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
2024 when Christians are made fun of !! but God forgives us !! Glory to you !! and power ! you are Great !!
When I first listened to this song I wasn't a swahili speaker. When I came back to it, I was able to translate it for myself and thought, "They just YMCA ed me." I'm all for it though. Beautiful song!
This song always makes me happy cry while giving me goosebumps.
Lovely , gracious, majestic, wonderful job. This song lifts the spirit of a dropping soul
I love this song, and I love having the swahili lyrics written so I can learn them. Some of the phrases on the solo are a bit fast, but I think most people would have no trouble learning the chorus in swahili.
I am not religious but this song is damn beautiful
You don't have to be religious to appreciate this.
@@rubykelly2305 Sure, but if you are touched by this song, you feel some form of spirituality ;-)
Because Christ is real, and he wants you to be saved.
This never fails to give me goosebumps every time I listen to it. What a powerful song.
First time I heard this I got goose bumps. Not understanding that this is the Lord's prayer..Amen
My 15 yr old son shared this with me...and we think that they don.t hear us. What a blessing all around. Thank you so much💜
🍸🍸🍸
Beautiful composition. Wonderful to know the same prayer has been said for over 2000 years and has spread over the whole Earth.
I'm shaking, my heart is accelerated, my mind is peaceful and I' thank you for this. Amém!
I...I have no problem with the Lord’s Prayer in any language. But Swahili is the best language EVER in the universe
I sang this in choir a few years back
I'm singing this is choir and it's really good once you're able to pronounce the words
"Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven"
I'm not religious but I love this song... Na ninajifunza Kiswahili wiki tano... Hii ni ajabu ❤️
This song always makes me cry and I don't know why....
Well, it is the Lord's Prayer. The pure words of Christ touches everyone of us made in the image of God. God bless you! 🙏❤️
There is one mess up. Instead of "milele na milele" it's "muovu e milele"
You mean "deliver us from evil forever"?
Africa is gifted. There is no doubt about that 😂❤
I've always loved this song. Kind of bums me out that it's a Christian prayer. To all the folks saying "it's powerful because of the words even if you don't understand": No. It's the music. In my case, learning what the words mean has made it more difficult (though certainly not impossible) to enjoy. But the enjoyment is tainted. Still love the song.
Je crois que c'est le plus beau Notre Père que j'ai pu entendre après le latin !
Madeleine T.L. Ce n’est pas de latin, c’est de swahili

Song very beautiful 😍 ❤ I am brasileira like 👍 beautiful music 🎶
dit liedje zit de hele dag in mijn hoofd. wat n prachtig lied. onze vader die in de hemel zitvertaling klinkt niet zo mooi. swahilly probeer ik mee te zingen maar erg moeilijk.
This song brought me to god.
I love this song so much. Thank you for the translation. Now I can finally sing along to it.
Utuokowe na yule, muovu we milele Save us from the evil one.
Not save us with him.
Yes I noticed that error too, you can clearly hear the words sung do not match the text in that spot.
Thanks, I noticed the words did not match.
Its a mistake.
Thanks for showing the correct word. Cured my ignorance.
Thank you so sooooooo much for this direct translation! I want to do a sign language/interpretive dance of this beautiful song and this is exactly what I was looking for to plan it out! God bless you!
Such a beautiful song 💕
yes
When I die, I want this song be played on my funeral. It should be a joyous occasion since I have been released from my mortal coil.
My atheist self humming this song regularly for the past 10 years.
*Today*
A religious song? I'll still be humming it for another 10 😅
what a beautiful song, exciting arrangements and lyrics, with those voices, it has moved me ...
now i know the meaning of this song, thank you for the translation
So Beautiful!
I vote Baba Yetu for humanity's theme
God is not in one nation. God is in one world.
A Christian Prayer sang in Swahili, a largely Islamic region. Something about it makes you realize we are all part of the same human experience, nonetheless. Makes it such a fitting theme for the Civilization series.
this song gives hope. 😭🤗
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this.
Thank you! I always wanted to learn this, but the only part that I could really sing was the chorus, but now I can train the whole song! Thank you again!
Deeply touched. Thanks.
amazing song to praise the Lord
Thank you for not just copy pasting the King James and being more faithful to the Swahili! I noticed a few phrases were missing though, eg woman interjecting "Milele / forever" when choir is singing about forgiveness.
Still the best translation I could find on YT.
However it's a bit jarring using synonyms for words that have a traditional translation with the same meaning, such as "hallowed be thy name", "daily bread" "sins" etc.
I remember hearing this in civilization 4, what a good in game choir
Thank you Lord❤️
Such a beautifull song.
This is awesome. Thank you for your translation.
We should play this in a church
A Swahili speaking one.
James Jamero not necessarily
@@jamesjamero6583 that's okay..
Everyone can learn Swahili as they sing along.
