I just made $125 in 28 minutes cleaning gutters 😊
Congrats!!! Keep up the great work!
Excellent lesson here. There's real satisfaction in a job well done. Especially if it's physical.
Thanks Travis, definitely like workin with my hands
How do you deal with Tile roofs? Love what your doing and your message and this is the most legitimate hustle on RUclips
Nice video Spencer! Enjoyed as always
Glad to hear that Bro appreciate that!
$500 for 2 hours is great pay, as long as you have other jobs, lined up on that same day. You cannot omitt the price of traveling there, insurance, machine usage etc
True 💪 1 job a day is pretty normal but I’ve done as many as 4 jobs by myself a day
@@SpencerClaeys Excellent!
Don't forget Uncle Sam. Sonner or later about 1/3 will go toward taxes.
Great video
Thanks bro 🙏🙏
Can you do a vid on how to secure yourself to roofs with a tether like what kind of tether system and brand you use or recommend, how to secure yourself in it (both in the anchor point and proper harness practices), how to ensure it's the proper length etc? It looks like you do most jobs without one but especially when starting out I'd use one.
Sleek angled roofs with wet surfaces (from dew or after washing) are a recipe for disaster.
Yes! I’m also searching a video on how to secure ourselves properly to a roof. I would not feel comfortable doing a job without one
@Sarah Gosselin look up how to place roof anchor and don't forget to look at how to repair the screw/ nail holes with caulk then look up how rope rescue safety harness videos they will teach you safe harness practices
Great content /keep up the good work 👍
Question , interested in the tiny mic 🎤 ( Name, brand)
What if you fly a drone and print the peoples houses roof image. And hang it on their doors with a note "this is how your roof looks, if you need my service here my number". Taa taa, you would get 10 costumer easly in a few hours.
But idk if shooting peoples house legal or not.
What are your thoughts on telescopic ladders? Considering buying one but wanted to ask someone with more experience.
I thought this was for 50usd/hour or something like that. When you said 500 for full-pack, i was like: 😱
Do you just leave the baking soda and laundry detergent on the roof like that ? If so I’m assuming the rain will wash it away when it comes ?
Did you have alot of competition in your city when you started?
Was that straight baking soda powder, or was it mixed with something, or a specific type?
Never stand on a pitched roof with your hands in your pockets. If something goes sideways, you want your hand free with no hang-up.
How do you keep track of your finances?
I love your boots man! Where’d you get them from?
The boot store
Hay Spencer I would like to know the name of the product that you use on the roof, thanks!
Is there specific ladder racks or do you just need racks and then figure out how to secure the ladder to it?
Bro should use a safety harness.
So your business is insurance is in place and therefore you when the possibility of you falling off one of those roofs happens.?
Once the roof is cleaned what would you recommend to apply to protect the roof for clients that want a 100% eco friendly/ organic solution?
If you blend moss with watter and spread it on your roof the natural deteriorated moss prevents new growth.....just kidding don't do that it will be covered in moss lol use zinc moss out
Also something I would like to know
So I’m very inspired by you, I want to start up my own little gutter cleaning operation/ side hustle here in Michigan but have no idea the legal stuff to get it going. Do I just say fuck it and start doing jobs and register as an LLC later on? Or do i register as an LLC off rip to avoid any legal issues?
Just send it for a few months
I tried ordering your e-book. It wouldn't allow me to purchase with my pre paid card. So what type of roof cleaning mix do you use? What's the mixture, 50/50?
Hmm that’s weird sometimes it acts up maybe try a different card? Yeah depends on what you’re washing here I just used laundry detergent and baking soda
How you anchor that?
What city and state are they doing this in?
U need some roof boots like cogar paws.
And a roof safety harness kit. You can get them at Lowes for $100. I'm sure Home Depot has them too.
Im interested to work with you bro. How to apply as ur buddy? For real 😁🙏🏾
How do you unclog downstem
I just went all day today knocking on doors didn’t get one sale 😒😒
Facebook ads my man
I used to do concrete garden edging before I retired. The best advertising method for me was Google Ads. Very powerful, you can define the geographic area you advertise in, the times of day and week and your daily spend. Watch some RUclips videos on how to do it. Google also help you set it up and call you regularly to refine your ad. Another way is mail box drops. Create a pamphlet and walk around an area and drop it in people's mail boxes. A little less confronting for customers than door knocking.
First 🎉
I was first!!! 🖕
100 to clean the roof. 400 for future medical claims from falling off the roof.
FIRST!!!
I see ya bro! Appreciate the support luke 💪
What brush are you guys using bro
Home Depot has them
Starting my own business, everyone has told me "Dont go door knocking, it's invasive" yet everyone I see on here making bank is actually going out and doing it. I gotta stop listening to idiots.
So you're training someone to be your competition...? Or does he live in a different area...?
He lives in a different city but even still there’s plenty of room everywhere I’m never worried about competition 💪
Look at all them rich boys lol the pie is big enough for everyone to make some bread. I was also looking into starting a business a pressure washing business but now i see i might be able to make myself bigger by learning how to clean a roof properly and treat it
Do you have to collect sales taxes for your jobs?
yes WA state requires sales tax
@@seattleprowash5464 it depends on what state(in terms of size) your business is in and how the customer paid. Just as waiters or waitresses underreport their tips, contractors do the same; as long as they're paid in cash. Some will even give a discount if you pay in cash. If you don't, considering that most contractors charge the same, you'll be under bid on contracts resulting in you losing customers. This is especially true if they have non-American, aka under the books, employees. The later can also be said for employees, within their field, that are doing business, themselves on the side, to supplement their income. They'll buy the supplies, or whatever, under the business they work for, getting a large discount in the process and will undervalue their labor since they are being paid in cash aka no income tax on the business and personal end. There's a reason why most businesses charge 2-3x the employees wage for a service. You can nolonger upcharge materials all that much, since anyone, with internet access can look up the price of materials, all the profits solely rely on the upcharge of labor hours. A good example is mechanic shops, the cheapest around me is $100 an hour per person for labor but, the employee makes no more than 55-60k $27-30 an hour. So an employee, who is doing side work will charge 55-65 an hour. The employee ends up making more and the customer ends up saving more, it's a true win win.
@@UndefinedStasis You can do what works for you. I have never once been questioned on sales tax.
How many days a week do you work? Is it consistent money... Making a few hundred dollars is cool but not if it's not consistent money.. thanks ..
You're stating that it's not cool if it's not consistent. That's a pretty narrow minded view. My father in law snow plows from Nov-Mar each year and then does concrete work in the summer. The trick isn't finding consistent money, it's in diversifying until you can't fail. I have seven revenue streams right now, just paid off my house, and I'm 34 with five kids. Debt free and making life better everyday. My current plan has me retiring in 1,244 days.
If you want consistent money, get a job. Self employment has risks but also personal freedom.
No really don't have a narrow mindset, I'm union auto worker, debating on getting into union HVAC for the pension plan. Honestly seems like everyone cuts grass or has a snow plowing service etc etc... again I was asking if it's consistent money plain n simple. Is the money there yeah Definitely but if your only pulling few jobs week then kinda iffy. Then along with the other landscape services out there, I used to mow while my boss cleaned the roof and gutters of customer house. So yeah every home could be a potential customer but only if they really care about how their house looks I see tons of house that needs power wash and roof clean but never do.
Osha wants to know why you're not using any harness on such a high roof.
Because it’s not too steep. Also, self employed business owners such as him do not need to follow every single osha guideline. If I’m up on a roof that isn’t too steep I wouldn’t go through the extra time to get my rigging all set up either, its just a waste of time for nothing really, if I’m on a roof that actually feels sketchy and unsafe I will rig up. Otherwise no, he’s completely in the right doing that job with no ropes. Mind your business
@@Heyhowareya97 Yes I will mind my own business, but will also take my business elsewhere. Because if shit happens and you're underinsured or uninsured, the homeowner's insurance has to pick up the tab and possibly even out of pocket from the homeowner.
OSHA can suck it
@@ruthlessluder well this guy and most of these channels do have insurance for this, if you dont have a steep roof and you dont already have roof anchors up there good luck finding someone who will do the job for you, because if its not that steep most companies will decide its unnecessary, and while they might be willing to if there were roof anchors since its not much extra effort, if theres not these are mostly small businesses who do this and they will tell you politely to kick rocks because not only is your request unnecessary obnoxious and extra work but its indicative of you being a customer they will find to be a pain to work with anyways
@ruthlessluder, that's why you never hire anyone unless they have insurance. If and when you decide to hire someone that's uninsured that's your fault. Simple as that!
What accent is Austin's?
Australian
East side of the state
Gutter guard is really bad and does nothing
My thoughts as well haha
