- Surprise video, we've got a planet to implode. This was filmed ENTIRELY in game!
This was filmed only in a few hours and edited in a day as a test to see if I could manage to make something I enjoyed with hard limitations on time. Super fun major order!

I love your videos. You nail it every time. This is what we faced down there.
SES Herald of Peace. First mission on Meridia was level 8, dark fluid, with three Super Irishmen. Never failed, but it always came down to the wire. I witnessed the whole operation from start to end, then was sent back after everyone else was forced to leave. I've seen the other side. Turns out the forced FTL evacuations and celebrations were premature. The "black hole" didn't resemble or behave like the simulations, and worse, Meridia was still down there. Some Commanders rounded up at least eight volunteers in the official Galactic-War and Game-Master channels. I joined the SES Wings of Liberty. We dove in to see if a few more injections of dark fluid might finish the job, and spaghettifi Meridia for good.
None of us thought we'd be going home. The planet's worse than ever. But if the scientists are right, and all our sacrifices were worth it, then maybe that hellhole stays buried. Maybe it really is a black hole sucking up all the sector's Terminid spores. But it only seems to pull on our ships as hard as denser stars. And whenever I touch things, or listen to silence, or try to sleep... I feel intangible, like I'm not really here. Like I'm still *down there.* Instead of that familiar post-battle ringing in my ears, I hear the resonance of the Pelican straining upward through a tunnel with no light at the end. It sang like the mourning of iron stars and whale calls from the deep.

Meridia has been the most thrilling event thus far. Anyone who just started playing the game on meridia now has ptsd.
I cut my teeth on Malevelon Creek, but I’ve never had this much of a struggle before. It only makes me hope that the illuminate will be just as exciting and difficult!

I used to think that just because I survived Malevelon Creek, it would make me invincible... but then, Meridia happened, and now I know the face of the truest of nightmares.
I can imagine it only gets harder from here.

Final fantasy 15 had a cool thing where one of the dudes in your party was a photographer and every time you started the night somewhere (to save the game) you could see pics of cool moments from the day. It would be sweet if they did that at the end of a mission.

Hahaha, I wish! Not gonna lie, this has been the most frustrating and terrifying mission I've done yet. I love losing, makes this all seem so much more tense.

A thousand memories in a simple few seconds that absolutely kick back on my PTSD hahaha
A bittersweet moment gor this Helldiver... Meridia was my first dive, and was my old stomping grounds for when the bots were the focus. I spent so much time on that planet that it basically became my home. My personal headcannon is that that first diver stayed on planet untill the end, and watched his home break around him.
To add to your head cannon, if the illuminate do happen to come from the void that was Meridia - your diver should be head first into the battle against them!
I remember being on the last deployments to Meridia before the planet collapsed.

Usually when we decide to film stuff we start just deep diving everything about the weapons / map / enemies we can figure out. Like a showcase! The dark liquid packs would leak usually after a few jumps and I believe at the 11th jump it’s blow up on your back hahaha.

The resolution and no drops in frame rate and textures, blows my mind.

Not enough shriekers! I would definitely have loved to see a shot which showed the scale of the shrieker attack at the end.
Oh believe me when I tried hahaha. Every mission we made it to the end I frantically tried to get better and more footage of the swarm but for the life of me couldn’t stop getting absolutely ganged up on by them lmao
@@TacoNightShenanigans The shield emplacement draws them like moth to a flame, which could have given you enough of a breather to get some nice shots of them above it. Also a useful stratagem for protecting the drills.
Ooo you know I will definitely try that out next time I need something in the heat of things. Didn’t think about how good a breather would be!

For a video done so quick, it's awesome ! When i was watching , the end is just... pure cinema ! You get the last shot on the pelican ? I guess the breath clip is speed up a little bit ?
Thank you, thank you! That last shot is a camera glitch you can get (sometimes) when you're able to extract with your camera yeeted up into the sky. It brings it back down and smashes it into the interior.

Fought myself on whether or not to include that hahahah. I think it shows the game well, moments of high intensity combat with a sprinkle of fun. Nothing breaks my immersion more than seeing one of my fellow divers get yeeted across the map or find themselves on top of something they shouldn’t.
