I have to agree on this. I had a 600 sq ft apt when my daughter was born and lived there for two years. It was so cozy and cute. My daughter just graduated high school and i would love to go back just for a day ❤

I totally agree. The happiest home I've lived in with my parents was a little cabin; we had only a tiny sofa that only two people could sit on, and we used to watch TV all together, seated on the floor with loads of cushions on the floor. Now, their living room is so big that no one stays together anymore...

I literally had a white picket fence. They had wrought iron Bunny beds. My daughters loved their childhood. My sons ( they’re boys ) 🙄 this mom & dad are fabulous. She definitely is making a magical home for her daughters. Love their princess chair. I can only imagine what their next home will look like. Hope we get to see them again.

Heather and Michael did a great job decorating their 600 sq. foot apartment so nicely and cozy. You are doing a fabulous job raising your family and giving your girls the opportunity to participate in saying how they want their room. It is nice to see a normal family with a normal space most of Americans can afford on a real budget.

What an amazing couple. You can tell they love each other by how they look at each other and give time to share their complete thoughts. You can also see their love for each other by how much they are both invested in enjoying their home and how they both are invested in sharing about their home. 9 years going strong. Always remember it’s how you talk about! and how you talk to! And how much you value your family that keeps you in love. The second you. Take someone for granted or start being disrespectful things turn ugly. Thanks for being a wonderful example to everyone around you. Wish you both the best of luck. What a beautiful home. Beauty is kindness! I knew their was going to be a faith component. Stay blessed

This house tour is now one of my top favorite videos. What an utterly lovely family living in a brilliantly creative and yet thoughtfully curated space. I’d rather a 600 sq ft apartment in NYC than a 5K sq ft house in the suburbs. Their daughters could not be more fortunate than to live across from Central Park and experience all of the culture and wonderment of NYC. Bravo to this couple. (I recognize the Odin Parker NYC music box because I own it.) Thank you to this wonderful tour and for new ideas.

I couldn't agree more about their comment that the small space translates to a closeness. We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment for the first 10 years of our marriage with our two children. We moved into a large historic 4 bedroom home when they were 8 and 12. Twenty seven years later it is that first little apartment that is often reminisced over. We love our house but that first cozy apartment, I believe, really made the foundation of who we became as a family and as people.

before you toss those artworks, take a picture! you can create a scrapbook with fridge gallery images that will grow with time! My childrens Kindegarten teacher gave us a CD of our kids art from school. Not everything went home. Now its a treasure. I luv the home you've created. There is lots of living around the family table. My memories, my kids greatest times were spent at that table. Now my grand kids, growing up fast are doing the same things my kids did and its fun to see my daughter play the mumm and show the little ones how we bake, do holiday crafts and cooking. We even made crock-pot apple butter in the fall... here in MN. God bless your NewYork Nest. Thank you for sharing with the world.

I can relate so well with the mother having lived with my husband of 35 years and two children in spaces varying 400 to 12,000 square feet and the most intimate spaces are what initially influenced my interior design business. I will add that the house that we owned and I enjoyed designing the most was 1200 square feet.
