Fullmetal alchemist didn't disappoint, it had a GOOD ending, it's just the Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood was better, but it came out after. So it didn't disappoint, this list is just garbage

@@5tuk149 one thing being false lowers the credibility of everything, the reason I didn't list more is there's too many bad things about this list to explain, like he claims to have done this list based on a community poll, but I looked into it, and there was no poll, he just made people say what anime they were disappointed in on the discord, so if ONE SINGLE PERSON said they were disappointed in a great anime, it would be on this list
Not only that, but the reasons for many of these being disappointing are very lackluster.... Like he called Tomodachi game "unrealistic" it's literally a death survival game, and he expects it to be realistic. These reasons are spread across all of the anime on this list, with very few being valid

The issue with animating berserk is quite funny to be honest:
The art is too fucking good.
The battle scenes, the places and the sheer amount of characters in a single panel make berserk almost impossible to animate without an insanely huge budget.
Just go look online for some of berserk’s best panels. I even remember one with around 120 CHARACTERS.

Just imagine how hard it would be to make something like the sea god, the god hand or other insanely huge creatures of berserk. Most of the fights are also pretty long and since there are over 360 chapters imagine how many seasons they would need to ‘’complete” berserk.
Me imaging how One Punch Man's current arc is going to get adapted...
The fact that most of these animes were adapted by Pierrot 😂😂
The thing about Pierrot is that it's really basic compared to other studios, so for really casual manga like BC works more or less fine. But you have them adapt a crazy jumble of lines and action like Tokyo Ghoul and they short circuit.
Pierrot is just too inconsistent. Sometimes they make great episodes and hype things out and the next episode, it's just so painfully bad

In fact, it’s actually miraculous what they were able to achieve with what they sometimes had to work with (mainly with their longrunning anime). Any problems with an adaptation is usually the fault of the higher ups, not so much the studio itself that just animated what they’re told to, right?

Their bad management on certain series and their overall inconsistency makes them unreliable for an anime adaptation imo.

Seeing your favorite anime is really disappointing
Most of these were BS, like he called Fullmetal alchemist disappointing because it didn't follow the manga, but it surprised the fans with an actual good ending and story, even tho Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood was better(it came out later so fans weren't actually disappointed)

The first season, it's just a simple prison break show, with a bunch of smart and interesting kids. The next season, they forced us to believe that those kids are changing the world, like some kind of Messiah or something

I think Shikimori was misunderstood to be a more dramatic anime. I have only seen the anime so I dont know how well it was adapted from the manga. Anyway, I got the impression it was just supposed to be a wholesome, slow-paced feel-good story (That's the best way for me to describe it xD) where you dont have to fear things going wrong. And what goes wrong is resolved in a beautiful, friendly way that makes everyone happy.
For all the other anime from this list I watched, I understand the complains (though I don't necessarily share them).

@@xbertron Same for me. I really love the games but the anime not so much. Season 1 had a bunch of funny episodes, but, as you said, it didnt follow the rules of Pokemon (wrong moves, Ash being lucky and a terrible trainer, ectr.) and everything afterwards was pretty boring. I wouldn't say it's dissappointing though. To me, it seems like a childreen's anime using 20 minute plots without any background needed. For that audience, it is a successful show

if you want to have an accurate poll you would have to sample a million or at least 100k anime watchers across the globe, a few hundred or a few thousands are clearly not enough for an " accurate " representation of taste, depending on the countries people watch from, their culture it makes everything different
10k american anime viewers don't have the same taste or liking as 10k japanese anime viewers, i'm pretty sure some animes deemed awfull from an occidental perspective are awesome for japanese and vice/versa

To be Fair, the first episode of Redo of Healer shows you what kind of story it's going to be. So can you really call it a disappointment when you yourself chose to continue to watch a series like that.

My mother absolutely loves The Promised Neverland. We watched together back in 2020 and she was super excited to the 2nd season. Turns out that even I myself don't watched it because I'm scared that it would happen the same with Nanatsu no Taizai: The anime got so so bad that it ruined my good experience with the manga. I'm not watching it, however, mom still wants to do it because she doesn't have enough time to read all the manga. (And I'm still going to force her to read.)

I totally agree with death note, after the death of L, the story should end, I would rate it 10 star at that point. But it got 1 point off because of the ending.
Can everyone please stop trying so hard to explain why their fav anime shouldn't be on this list and why people who dislike the anime are dumb or have bad taste? I like a lot of them too but that they were disappointing was decided by majority vote by 30k+ people on youtube and it doesn't even say they were "bad" it just says disappointing as in: could have been done better. Yeah personally I watched Nisekoi, OP, Tensura, Black clover, Food Wars, MHA, Kakegurui, Demon Slayer, Arifureta, DxD, Redo of Healer, SAO and Tokyo Ghoul and none of them disappointed me except Tokyo Ghoul and season 4 of dxd but only for the graphics for this one, except this I really liked all of them

The percentage of viewers satisfied and disappointed should be used as an anime who has huge fandom could have much large percentage of people who are satisfied but in opposite very less percentage of people who are dissapointed could comprise of

Example, I was watching a romance anime that I found and one of the female characters who hated the MC fell in love with him just because he said “you’re actually a really nice person” …. So I kinda agree but not really, I think they are confusing "Unrealistic" with "Unlikely". Unrealistic is a term used by straight-up Marin-haters, but unlikely is more fitting as it means girls like her can exist, just very rare. Marin is a girl who is pure good, she is always kind, never bad or evil to anyone, trustworthy and loving. Critics argue that kids today are the product of their environment, good and bad, and that teenage girls including in Japan are a mix of rotten/evil behaviour and good behaviour. Pretty cynical but a fair point. So Marin feels like an Angel, literally, like she was born and raised in Heaven with no bad influences thus turned out pure good. I think Marin is the good kind of unlikely as she is a role-model and a pure-good character is something people should aspire too.
Her crush on an average guy despite being gorgeous is also unlikely but not impossible. So two very unlikely things in one girl, making extra unlikely, but still even if she's 1 in a million that would leave 4,000 females on earth like her

Just because L died doesn't mean that the show was over. I understand people, since L was my favorite character as well, but imo there was nothing wrong with that because it all ended nicely, with both Near and Mello being nice successors.
I completely agree with all other choices, but AOT S4 feels good, DBGT should be respected because at least it is better than DBS, and FMA, no doubt was different from manga, is a masterpiece show
But still FMA swaying away from manga is a disappointment. But it's not necessary that swaying away from manga is gonna disappoint, biggest example - Hellsing
Overall a good list, the selection was pretty fitting, sure there is discontent from what is more dissappointing (nobody tops berserks animation). Though some of these werent on here because they were bad Adaptations, but just because the whole franchise is underwhelming
Many Anime if they had less good animation would be considered Average at best (looking at you Demon Slayer)
God of Highschool was disliked because it cramped 120 Chapters into 12 Episodes, changed a whole lot of stuff (some changes were nice, like Mira Yoo winning against Kraken Guy)

My biggest dissapointments were Wonderegg Priority and Darling in the Franxx. I absolutely despised the ending of the former, feeling very rushed, unfinished and left more questions than answers (hard carried by good animation), and the latter had a bs plot since the beginning, but it was the last 5 episodes were things really went nuts. At this point, modern anime feels lackluster tbh, and don't have a real incentive to keep watching new series except for Mob III and CSM
Most anime nowadays can't compare to those from the 1980s/1990s, which was the golden age for anime & manga. Look at _AKIRA_ and you'll see that 90% of what's been made since can't match it's animation.
Darling in the Franxx felt incomplete because it’s just a blatant Evangelion clone. Everything not taken from Evangelion is original but the original aspects just suck

Komi can’t communicate’s characters are the typical stereotypes, (which is interesting since i’d like to see those stereotypes in one story and how’d they interact) so it’s not surprising there are annoying characters. Plus i’d prefer if all characters get attention and not just focus on a few.

That pain I've experienced with Promised neverland..... Now whenever I recommend it to my friend, I just straight up saying: Watch season 1 and just assume they survived. Season 2 never existed
I am surprised that people considered both dawn of the witch and assassin isekai to be "disappointment" considering there wasn't any hype or expectations for the shows in the first place.
Dawn of the witch is basically a sequel to "Grimoire of zero" where witches and beastmen (I think they were humans transformed into beastmen) get killed on site by religious groups. Grimoire was never as popular from what I saw. I simply enjoyed watching it in the past. I haven't watched dawn of the witch because I simply had no time.
The assassin isekai (Not saying the fkin long ass name) is basically an actual soon to be retired assassin from the real world reincarnating with a twist. I really liked that the mc actually does assassinations (So even the fights dont seem like the typical long and/or "explosive" shounen battles). The side characters are alright. There was a bit of "sus" in the show. Although some people complained that there was barely any action and that the mc was getting "feelings" again Idk why thats a problem since it makes the mc actually get a 2nd chance to enjoy the life that was taken from him (In his past life the assassin organization trained him to be a ruthless/emotionless killer).
Again compared to most of the shows in this list that had hype and actual expectations Idk why peoples feelings towards these 2 specific shows were that strong.
Yeah. I don't get why people are upset with the assassin isekai. Calling it a bad Jobless Reincarnation copy is like calling any other isekai a bad Jobless Reincarnation copy. And I don't even remember moments other than the few second of looking into the other summoned ones' lives that could even be considered "cringeworthy".
Maybe they looked at the title and thought: "This is gonna have epic fight scenes with high quality animations." or something.

I didn't know people were dissapointed by alicization. Personally, part 1 was more entertaining and had a great storyline - the fights were amazing!

The anime just does not have great animation for a series that should be all about the animation because you come to a series like Record of Ragnarok for the fights, and if the fights don't look good, obviously there's going to be a lot of hate, its cool if you like the anime but I would still say a lot of the hate was deserved and the anime was a very big disappointment compared to the manga
