I was lucky enough to be at the shoot, one of those "I did this when I was younger" things I wanted to have. Walked in right when they were filming the OD scene, not gonna lie ,it was rough, had a few friends just up and dissappear physically or mentally after it. It's easy to believe in invincibility until life begs to differ. Glamour isn't very glamorous, so cheers to the pretty kids who never got to be the wildly beautiful adults they would have grown into and one more for the pretty kids just trying to figure it out. Thanks for an awesome song and a beautiful video.♦️♦️🤟

You know something is done thoroughly and perfectly when it says "directed by mehro". pretty kids is the description of Gen Z, at least i can see it that way. Gen Z is losing its essence and its destiny. Our culture is changing fast and teenagers are confused. There seem to be no answers but we are getting to the point where no one will listen to someone else's point of view unless they completely agree with them. But I am a believer that a broken design can be mended. I have always told you that you are a blessing to our generation. You have the right words because you listen to us. And not everyone does that. I'm getting more and more excited to tell everyone about you. I love how this song, in my understanding, shows perfectly what it feels like to be an outsider. To be distanced from the "Pretty kids" or the popular kids, even if you sometimes hang out with them. It really gets the feeling right. How you can hang out with them and chat, laugh. But then are never invited anywhere. You can't go where the pretty kids do.
i love your interpretation noah, bc i have felt this way so many times. observing on others lives. there are times where i love it, and times where i feel lonely. but funny enough - being in the group doesnt make it any easier. there are a load of complexities the observations alone cant comprehend. our world is so simple, and at the same time, infinitely complex

This whole music video is a complete visual masterpiece. I have to say my favorite part when you say there’s an ugly inside it and point at the camera. It really hit deep because I feel like we’ve all been in a situation that isn’t the best for our well being and at the time we’re so focused on trying to impress others or be apart of something that we don’t know it is hurting us. I think it really shows that there is an ugly inside everyone and that’s ok but when it starts effecting your heath and well being is when it gets out of control. Here goes my own interpretation:
This music video reminded me of someone I used to be friends with; she is a model, beyond beautiful inside and out. I never thought she could’ve deal with any problems, she looked perfect, she seemed perfect. Deep down she was struggling with her image and the pressure all around her.
The quote: “No, no you’re not invited. The door is always closed, there’s an ugly inside it, it’s where the pretty kids go.” For me is this part where not everyone can belong into a pretty kids crew - they deal with lots of darkness inside (that’s the: “there’s an ugly inside it”) pretending everything’s fine and they have to recur to an option it’ll fade all their problems away to alter their reality because that ecstasy cannot be any better with anything else.
Sometimes you also feel the need to be part of these pretty kids gang, to have a status and be cool, then you realize is not as it was pictured in the first place that reminiscent of “Bad intentions, broken by design” Broken by design as if they have been broken since they were born. “No exceptions, we’re just wasting time.” - As if you had to comprise in being part of that group.
“If you don’t drink the Kool-Aid, then you really never know what poison tastes like, it’s where the pretty kids go…”
That’s the main deal, the great challenge, getting inside the rabbit hole.
What I feel about the main character is that he started off being frontline of the group, the leader, the perfect cool guy. He probably may had tried it before, or it was another doses or simply brand new to him - Not knowing he’ll ended up probably passing away. Maybe he made it out but what I can feel towards the “It’s where the pretty kids go” it is a mental state where you lose sense of grip to life. That’s where all the pretty kids are led to. I, myself belonged to a pretty kids group. And while it seemed all fun and games, later on it began to be a living nightmare. Finding out that people I used to know since I was a kid are going into this dark path and again “Broken by design” pops in my head once again.
The tunnel of infernal dreams, I would call the experience. I’m glad I made it out. I’d say it takes a great deal of courage to fight against your thoughts and acknowledge the problem to be able to work on that on therapy. Most people are afraid to do some introspective exercise and confront their own monsters because they don’t think they are going to be capable to go through them and change their narrative and perspective into a healthy peaceful mindset.
Focusing now on the music video itself, I would like to congratulate you for the effort you and everyone that was involved executed this outstandingly.
Like I said before, it is quite impressive how the vision you once had made it exactly to the screen. I want to thank you that you have been showing more sides of you that we have been discovering in the course of every single song and specially music video you have put out. You of course have your own meaning to your songs and music videos (which I would absolutely love to read your thoughts on this for sure), in a way you let the world have their own interpretation to it, which is fascinating to read, there you discover similarities in different life stories but at the end they align and connect with both the lyrics and story line of the music video.
Beyond proud of this work you did. I clearly can see the passion and love it shows for what you do. Never change, Mehro. I can see many achievements coming along. This being one of many more for sure. Thank you, always 🖤

Beautifully articulated and yes I agree with the above 100%. I also experienced both worlds and did nothing but find an empty core. But felt fully the most wholesome, when I was alone and free to be me without any expectations. I was friends with all the groups but still had a small group of friends outside the pretty kids. They were and still are shallow and friends to this day, all addicts and alcoholics trying to do the "better then you" image stuff. It's sad. . It's exhausting to watch them still trying so hard to keep it up. Being pretty isn't enough in the real world. And i was so lucky to have realised VERY early in my teens I can't fake who I am to just "fit in". I'm an introvert with extrovert needs once in a while. I need external validation but not at the same time. It's all a mixed bag of trying to figure out where we all belong and what feels right for each of us individually, not for the groups image at the end of the day etc. And it doesn't just apply in high school but everything you'll ever be part of. For the rest of your life. Learning to be alone is important.

You hit the nail in learning to be alone. That’s essential! And most people are afraid to do so. To coexist with your body and thoughts to be in balance, to know your strength and weaknesses, to know how much you are able to push forward and be resilient. Though, we may pass by many friendships/relationships at the end of the day you will always be your best company until the day you die.
I’m also an ambivert with introvert tendencies and rarely the extrovert side gets out but I love how you said that occasionally you feel the need of external validation but it is not always the case. We tend to find these sorts of groups where we feel we’ll fit in and discover who we are but it takes more than that and everyone there is trying to do the same thing. Something I learned through the course of years is that everyone you meet is a master that will teach you something wether is good or bad and perhaps those experiences shaped us and made us value life and people more. I read the book Beautiful Boy (which is an amazing contribution to the psychology area) and it made me understand things in a level I did not put into perspective and the movie was such a great adaptation to this. I fully recommend both.
Also I love how you say about loving being in your own company because there will be no one judging. Certainly as we get older our ideas are corrupted and we are being pushed in being shaped mentally and physically into what’s approved for everyone to see. There is nothing better than accept and be fully yourself alone and around others. It’s been a huge struggle of mine and I love the times I don’t give a f about it. I’ll remember your words. Embracing yourself, learn how to be alone will define the rest. There’s a quote that says: “When things change inside you, things change around.” :-)
