Music video by Placebo performing Too Many Friends. (C) 2014 Elevator Lady Ltd., under exclusive license to Vertigo/Capitol, a division of Universal Music GmbH
Placebo is like that lifelong friend that you can call up to help you feel better no matter how long it's been.
So true
Specialy this one
The problem with society is that we’ve allowed our emotions to be so strung out we only identify with music. Music is like drugs for some people. You aren’t supposed to listen to it all the time. You’re addicted to allowing yourself to identify with a song that wasn’t made for you. It’s a generalization of a subgroup. You are an individual. Remember you aren’t a program.
This is pure gold. Brilliant song, brilliant lyrics, brilliant Placebo
Ok the video is clearly trying to send a message...........BRAVO PLACEBO!!!
they all had the mark, bleak future
Yes, your computer knows your sexual preference.
Thank you Brian. So actual. Why I always need to hear your voice? You are a kind of drug for my ears. Don't stop please🙏
I had a brain bleeding in march 2015. It's hard to learn all those things again that I was pretty good in. And your music helps me believe in myself. Thanks for the great tune!!!
+Jens Leduc I wish you all the best man!
@Seth Wellington Cause it hurt, seth. It... hurt.
Wish u strength
I know this is 5 years late but I really hope you're doing much much better 🌸
We are involuntary twins. In march 2015 I had a mortal anemia. It's hard all over..... but we are still here ❤️
Placebo..You're truly amazing!
My phone thinks I'm a man lol
Been with Placebo since '96, it's been a great ride.
Always been a special band
@@jayjaymcfly7475 I agree. Many of us sitting in the same boat, staring at the same holes that are letting the water in.
My computer: "Why are you gay?"
Me: "Who says I am gay?"
My computer: "...you are gay!"
i saw that video today lol

This song is so true for thousands of people including myself, such a true and amazing song, loved seeing it performed live at Soundwave :')
I think the same 😊
Bellissima canzone, verità assoluta e significativa sui nostri tempi.colonna sonora della mia riflessione.
Capolavoro assoluto. viva l' italia e i placebo
Placebo confirm that good music is still alive
So true!!!
and still it is
Daisy Porisini well, the lyrics are really good but the music itself? not for me..
Maybe its an placebo effect, hehe
its always been there all you have to do is find it
(:
When I heard this song for first time, I thought it was a joke. Now I can realize it has some of he deepest lyrics talking about todays life way. Where the innovation in social culture has ended in the innovation of loneliness. And does loneliness has become the most commun element of the modern world.
This song sums up most people's lives, living in a Facebook world and don't know at least half of their "friends", this massively applies to me. Quality track by a fantastic band
To my mind this song is about social networks , about people who have 5000 friends on Facebook , 6000 followers on Instagram ,but in fact we are alone..we'll never meet these virtual friends..I don't know if I'm right...
MisterProdigy89 Or first life... Depressing. I agree with you.
+Anais Anaiss if you have the wisdom to see, hope youre not a facebook user yourself then
I agree that the human connection is often lost. You see so many people out and about too busy putting their lives on instagram tl actually be in the moment and live it. In Facebook's defence, I have met (yes, in real life) many wonderful people I would never have met otherwise. I'm not sure if its an age thing (I'm 49) that made us all want to meet up in the real world. Could have been a disaster but it was like meeting up with our best friends. That was 5 years ago, we still meet regularly in Birmingham and have the best, real life, time. None of that would have happened without Facebook so I owe a big thank you to Mark Zuckerberg. I also met up with some great people via a Placebo fan site to go see the band in Edinburgh in February. I would have gone alone but it was so much better to do it in the company of like minded faithful
+thosegreengentlemen It's okay to use facebook but don't live on it
Anais Anaiss i agree
an entire music video with headphones that aren't Beats, it's beautiful
What makes almost every placebo songs beautiful is the voice of the vocal
Well.. i believe this song is about when you can see people like you, you can easily know that they're like you, maybe struggling or just have similar personality and same perspective on life.. you see strangers on the road or classmates or walkers by and you can easily know they're just like you. those united blue wires can be a signal.. you can see each other but never dare to speak or be with or there for each other and you feel very frustrated so you all get together united because of your souls and likes and dislikes and thoughts but could never be really connected. this is exactly how i feel and i experience this like everywhere i go
That is nice
At a time in my life where it feels as if everything is going too fast, things coming to an end, and I sometimes feel completely empty and alone, this keeps me going.
The message is pretty strong in this. Bottom line, we've kinda lost the human connection. We're all connected through wires now.
Biba
lost the human connection? nope.. actually, it was like this from day 1.. wires just made you see it..
Toma Cristian what good are human connections¿
Get over it bruh this is how the world works now
Johny Karibou which is shit
Every one has zonked out and stopped communicating. Technological overload. A fabulous song! 💕
Really love this song. It's a great feeling. All the songs on this album are epic.
that's exactly the kind of music video i'm looking for. visually stunning and perfectly supporting the audio, creating an amazing atmosphere. this right now should be about my fifth or sixth time watching it in a row. amazing work. this videoproducer just gets it.
If you get thru life without any scars, you have not lived
that's the deepest comment on this page
0:02 Truly one of the opening lines of all time
I also love the "superhighway" bit because people actually called it that back in '95.
Love, peace and happiness, Peter (62) from Germany
nee danke, roboter an die macht!!
Love this song
For some reason I think her scar makes her look more beautiful
Thinking somebody is more beautiful because of a scar is equally as superficial as thinking they're uglier for it.
@@enabler2456 i too think her scars are beautiful
@@crispytg ok?
@@enabler2456 yep
@@enabler2456 You're the one being superficial here, actually. A scar can mean so many things for a person carrying it and finding it beautiful is a true sign of appreciation, which is definitely not common.
I love placebo's music. I just started listening recently.
Check out Passive Aggressive & Prodigal Son ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Me listening to this song wearing my headphones in public and avoiding actual human interaction
Where is My Mind.

I'm watching this on my telephone
how ironic
Thank you Placebo, this is so true, you can't have so many real friends if you think about social media and real life, there is no time (especially if you have children etc.)
I’m in fact enjoying this song while staring into a phone; it really depends on how you use tech to connect rather than being isolated
Amazing songs, Amazing sound, Amazing band, Amazing Brian Molko ! Love your musical legacy !
Merci Placebo
Thank you Placebo, You speak for the universe on this song. Great work.
"Applications are the problem"
Facebook friends are nothing. You can't be there for them. Pretty straightforward message against the cancer that is social medias. Proud. Listened to them through my teenage years.
What a great song. Absolute underrated. Placebo. 4 Ever
"my computer thinks i'm gay".... best cyberpunk line ever...
This video is very powerful! Great work! ***Respect to the complete crew!!!***
No matter what, you are a special person and never ever cut or harm yourself ! The strong is is in you ! Be the butterfly !
this song is just wonderful... I love it !
love the melody
its the best clip i've seen for long time. thx
I love this so much. It is exactly how I feel on social media. I want to help everyone, but really that isn't the point of it. It makes me tired so I have to quit.
this voice he has is golden!!
Placebo is one of my favorit bands!
Yes ok, I saw many comments of the meaning of this song about social media and actual situation of “devices” but I love the sense of freedom of listening music like in the end of the video 🙂
Sorry for my english, I’m italian 🙂
Im 62...have whilst innocently surfing discovered Placebo and indeed 'Too Many Friends'...spelt correctly too...and if anything it has helped me understand what the hell is going on in my sons head. The electronic age is beyond me but for sure but people watching and the essential link between man and fone becomes clearer by the day. The fone appears to be completely indispensable. All praise to Placebo.
Man, the actress in this is great. Such an expressive face.
I think I just found the saddest song of my life, on a Saturday night that I'm spending even more alone than the girl in the video. The odd part is that I haven't missed human contact for a few years now, but this randomly reminded me of all of those great people I'm missing to meet just because I'm too happy by myself, being too comfortable in other things than in socializing enough. It makes me think that this song could make me hurt in the future. Maybe I need to suffer a bit from consequences of the outside world... I mean, it's been a while since I truly suffered over something in real life. This feels or makes me feel a bit guilty with myself in some way, but mostly for feeling selfish for all the others that don't live happy by themselves since it's normal with so many people.
Maybe I feel that it's not common to find people that feel mostly free like I do. Here's where I wonder if I will ever get to know somebody with this perspective on life, somebody who lives trying to make positivity a permanent state of mind, proving it's actually possible to share that reality with other people.
I guess I'm just excited about finally having grown up into adulthood while I'm still young, and I say it because I trained myself to have a really nice perspective of things, involving a rare desire for maturity as a goal to achieve. It's weird but I've been wanting to become an adult ever since I can remember, therefore, I've lived faster than probably most people. But I stopped complaining about that ever since I got to this point of feeling complete although there's still much more way to go, which is something that finally feels great to acknowledge :)
(And sorry for any bad English, I'm just writing for my own pleasure).
How many people are listening this great song in 2022? 🙋♀️
PERFECT, I LOVE!!!
Molko: My computer thinks **green guy jumps off the table** I'm gay.
A beautiful song must absolutely be a mix of music and lyrics that speak of everyone's life, which is not only love but also the pain and hardness of life itself. This helps to live it intensely and Placebo is this.
It was like a slap in my face - so touching and sad. Thank you guys
Placebo é bom demais
This song is 8 years old how is it even more relevant now.

@DonPascquale What is your problem? Why do you have to diminish people? Who hurt you?

Wow! 😳
Amazing !
Never heard of Placebo but damn the video was top notch cinematography!
By listening to this song I'm pushed into the awareness of a very clear fact that we're already being entirely manipulated by the whole easiness that technology provides to empower and improve our ability to communicate. We become unconsciously addicted to this sort of conviniency that end up persuading us into abdicating from some really essential values that are important to keep our existence worth living, which in this case is the true physical interaction. We can't forget that technology is only a tool that was designed to facilitate our lives but not to substitute our essence and our ability to simply be humans after all.
Saw this live Yesterday and it was awesome 😍❤️
asombroso !
Great video, great lyrics, one super great song of a great band, maybe the best R'n'R group after 2000. Like Jagger said at 1974, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll
this song makes me weepy, Its like they wrote it to show me i'm not the only one with too many "friends"
way better than the other boring video! ! I guess we all listen to placebo and go to that happy place in our heads! music : happiness PLACEBO 4life
totally agree with you. The other video is kinda pointlessly weird.
I haven't seen the other video. However, for me, listening to PLACEBO always takes me to a dark side that is kind of sad or depressed. I love their music, but it always makes me somewhat sad.
This gave me chills. Gotta love Placebo!
Yep.
Thanks a lot Placebo!!! I've had this song in my head for 2 days now.

Should be a hit world wide . Might yet . I'm sure if the radio stations play it. mabi it will someday. Awsome listing .
Awsome band .

Amazing, we are all so much the same, and so much of aware, and yet all so alone. Humanity is mystery indeed... we can always change it, but we'll always be the same - like a cat chasing its tail. So close, but yet so far!
Good song
Danke Plazebo

Sadly the words depict the generation we are living in..

This video is wonderfull!!! Better then the other version(quizz-video), this reflects much more the essence of the song.
