TALE OF THE SUNKEN TOWN (Halloween Sea Shanty)

For a few years I wanted to make a music for Halloween on this channel, and for a few year I thought "eh, I'll do this next year".
For a few month I wanted to write a sea shanty as writing and singing those harmonies seemed really fun.
So this year I took the challenge to make both, and here rose the HALLOWEEN SEA SHANTY and the legend of the sunken city.
This was challenge I was particularly happy to take for a few reasons :
- I rarely write lyrics, and I'd like to do it more.
- Because I rarely write, I rarely record singing, so it's always a challenge to produce
- I realised while doing this that I rarely begin a track with the melody, and that's what I did there
I am pretty stoked with the result, so I hope you'll like it too.

There was a city which sunken down
The houses, the port and all the town
No time to panic, no time to flee
Even the bar went undersea
And we can still hear from below
The voices singing with the flow
If you hear them when the moon’s red
come and dance with the dead
When the whaler came back home
with barrels of oil and a chest of gold
The praises were many and diverse
But in fact, the gold was cursed
The town was feasting, and then was sinking
But nothing ever stopped the drinking
The waters went up and the rum went down
and so went the singing town
The town went down but not the boats
the finest of all, they stayed afloat
on board are now the skeletons
clattering to the songs
And ghosts don’t need no floor to walk
they’re dancing away form the docks
They don’t breath but they sure can swing
So join the song and sing
So if you ever come around
and this song is still in your head
sing the song of the sunken town
and feast with the risen dead
