Oh I saw your comment about your wife being into DIY too but I can't seem to respond on my mobile app! So awesome to have another DIY Doris in the team 🙌🙌🙌 I just go through redbubble for the tshirt you can find the link to it through the website I'm trying out. It's still getting worked on as I'm hopeless at the tech side of things but you can check out diydoris.com 😊 Have a great day 😎💪💪
@@realisticrenovating Yes! My wife was dissatisfied with the fir of the flat stone sheets because no matter how she turned them there were obvious seems and gaps. We also have some contours in the shower pan that put strain on the panels. So she decided to break apart several sheets and reconstruct the loose stones. She then numbered those stones when she laid it all out and put reference numbers on the wall and drain so she could configure them just right. It took her a few hours but then she took them all out and I set the stopwatch to time her reconstruction. She was worried she wouldn't be able to position them all in time when we pour the epoxy. Well, she reconstructed all the loose pieces in two minutes so she's confident it can be done when we use the epoxy for real.
My shower floor which is small slate tiles now after 10 years needs to be done. One tile place wants $3,000 to do the job! My shower floor is 3x6 not too big. I think they are thief’s! So after seeing your video I’m gonna take a deep breath and do it myself. I’m not into robbery! Thanks for the push I needed 😉
I wanted to do this over a fiberglass shower floor. After watching your video I now know that its possible. I will be starting on that project very soon. Thank you for this very helpful video.
OK - looking for someone doing rounded pebbles. All these YT "experts" wimping out for the the flat crappy fake-ass pebbles because its easier- So I have you for a reference - tyvm Gonna give it a go. You did a great job pretty lady!
You did a great job. I'm putting some pebble tile in an area that had damaged wood floor and your comment about pulling them off the mesh, and setting them individually sounds much easier to me. Just keep a bucket of water next to you to and a towel to rinse your fingers off. I don't really like the shaved top stones that are level - they look too artificial and not natural like the ones you used. Thanks for the video and the tips!
Brilliant once again Jo, some helpful tips and pointers i.e. label each tile ready for laying in the order you chose. I like the fact you used the individual pebbles in the gaps and around the drain. Very good!!. The end result look fantastic. I'm not sure the GREEN bucket quite fits in with the rest of you Pink tools....watering can.......house in general !! HAHAHA )
Thanks Rachelle! If you're going over the top of the existing tile you can get lucky because it all raises up the few millimetres you need to keep it all flush... and if it's a rip out and re do job then it's a lot more work...
Yep apart from one tiny spot where I've got two pebbles that are a smidge lower than all the others!! Gah!!! Otherwise it's pretty good, I'll have to keep an eye on that area though and see how well the bondcrete holds the grout!
Hi Fabian! I sealed the rocks to avoid any grout stain and then because i used bondcrete in the grout mix i didn't seal over the top.... probably wouldn't hurt though!!
Hi!! I don't see why you couldn't do it in a regular bathtub, you'd just have to make sure your drain could still fit... although if you check out my bath painting video you can get drains that fit over the existing one... the premixed grout could work out pretty expensive I'd think? My only concern with the grout was if the water sits on it in any way then it will mould and deteriorate pretty easily which is why I mixed in the bondcrete. So if you're doing a bath with all the curves etc then you have a harder time making sure the water doesn't pool in any areas. If you do give it a go let me know how you go with it!! 😊
@@realisticrenovating 💕Ok! (so no premixed grout) Could you please list the exact items, I would need? I’m planning to do this in the next couple of weeks…Thank you sooo much!😇💕
Get yourself some decent tile adhesive, depends what country you're in, ask at a tile shop for the best one.. sometimes called thinset... a good notched trowel and whatever grout you want. Big bucket and something to mix it all up in plus a few cheap sponges and a grout float. Can do attitude and you're good to go!! 😊😎👍💪
ok so, im a general contractor. Youre a chancer. definitely deadly. Fair play for what i knew and what i learned. im going to go out on a limb....Australia? you're not the full shilling are you. love the stamp on the lower back. pink watering can! Brilliant! I'm a subscriber noe.
Hi Joanne! I just used blue painters tape (i call it masking tape) and i didn't extend the height of the drain, i just plopped the new one into the existing hole (which was wider) and the actual new drain sat about 10ml up anyway which was fine with the pebbles being on top of the existing tile... hope that makes sense!!
Funny story, my husband's never tackled tiling and grouting. I told him to get on RUclips and watch the professionals. Oh no! I know what I'm doing. He says. Okay I let him go at it. He did that night with the door shut. Wouldn't let me look at it until he was done. We have two bathrooms anyway. The next day came he went to work and I want to take a look at it to see how far he had gotten. He tiled the shower and grouted it. However, he didn't pay attention to the videos nor did he watch any because he never wiped it after the 30 minutes. So now I have a tiled floor that has grout on it that is as hard as cement. I spent 30 minutes with a chisel to get the grout off this pebbles. I've only got a small square done in the shower. This is going to take a few days to get the rest of this grout off. I can't wait for him to get home so I can tell him that I was right and he needed to pay attention to the videos. Lesson to be learned. If you don't know what you doing, watch a video or get a professional. I'm so frustrated with him right now. I could scream
You are lucky that grout was slow drying, you should never cover everything and then start the sponging. It could have hardened and would have been like concrete which it actually is. You would have had to tear it up. I'm glad for you.
I don't know how long you've been doing this but you are too interesting and too funny not to have a time of subscribers. This channel.should blow up one day and I can say "I knew her when..." Lol. I'm diggin' it!
Aw thank you Shannon!! I should really upload on a schedule so people know I'm coming back but I'm too busy doing DIY!! 🤪 Welcome to the team it's great to have you here!! 😎👌👍

Best pebble sheet shower floor video on RUclips! Thanks for sharing!

Heyyy thank you!! 💃💃😎😊
Refreshing. Honest DIY video. Nicely done 🎉
I like that you don't need men to help you.
That gives me confidence that anyone can do it.
Thank you! 😊 Keep that confidence going, you can do it!!
This took some work but looks great and not as hard as what people think. Love how you tackle this with your willpower!😊👍

Good luck with yr project Pam!! Maybe check with a local tile place for the best adhesive to use on the fiberglass 👍
You can NOT file a fiberglass pan. 🤦🏽♂️
Tile
Good choice of colour on the grout
I wasn't sure AT ALL, I was torn between that and light grey but been as the floor is going super dark i threw caution to the wind!!

It was graphite grey grout!! 😎

Thanks Vanessa!
@@realisticrenovating You are welcome and the project turned out great!

Well done Jo - good job and imagine its nice on the feet, are you happy with how well it drains?

Awesome
Thank you!

Great idea!
Don't do it will be too slippery

Oh thank you!! Big change but I'm happy with it 😎
Great video , one question I thought u seal it after the grouting
Hi Fabian! I sealed the rocks to avoid any grout stain and then because i used bondcrete in the grout mix i didn't seal over the top.... probably wouldn't hurt though!!

Hi! It's the existing waterproof under the existing tile 😎
Hi Doris. Good job you know DIY. You can fix your bedroom when you have a paddy fit. Lol
Hahaha i knew straight away to ask my mum on that one!! 🤣🤣🤣
