Thank you for this video. Any update on A7IV support? Still getting exposure failure and "camera not set to Bulb" with my A7IV despite following all instructions to set it up.

Hello, great video! You made my day when I watched the video a couple of days ago. Tonight I was able to connect my A7II successfully, however my astro modified A5000 would not connect to the ASi Air Pro running v 2.1 10.74.

Nothing but problems with the A7IV. ASIAIR won't recognize that the camera is in bulb mode, only offers whatever iso I select on the physical camera, exposure failure on every attempted shot or preview. Tried all the ASIAIR ports, every USB cable under the sun, and verified setting multiple times.
    Disappointed at best.

I would recommend you submit a log - I saw another report on the 7IV today they could not connect so something isnt quite right somewhere

I am having this exact same issue. I connect the camera, it gets recognized, but gives me an error that the camera is not in bulb, even though it clearly is. So annoying, no fix yet but I do have a Ticket with ZWO now, Ill post an update once I hear back.

Interesting video. Congratulations for the work you have done.
Even though I tried to follow your tutorial, I couldn't see my Sony camera connected to AsiAir via the camera's USB-C port on AsiAir (android tablet). The problem is that it is a Sony A7R-V which I did not see on the compatibility table you showed in this video. Do you think there is any hope that it can connect or do I have to wait for ZWO to create the necessary drives to be able to use it on AsiAir (v.2.1). Waiting for your response I send my cordial greetings.

I have A6000 and ASIAir Mini. There is apparently no way to save to the cameras internal SD Card. I cannot get intervals less than 5 seconds no matter the setting. When using a USB stick I get a Hint popping up asking if I want to use the USB Stick, even though I already am using it. This results in an autorun error that stops imaging. Otherwise it works. I will try using the ASIAir for alignment, composition and GoTo, then unplug the camera and use an intervalometer for imaging. Sony RAW files on the SD Card are half the size of the ASIAir FIT files and I can get short intervals. It would be nice if ZWO would implement an "Intervalometer Mode" but people have been asking for that for years, so I don't think it will happen.

going to try this soon - had several clear nights but no time to get things set up and running.
I am curious as to what setting you found worked the best -
say I use my 24-240 and I am shooting at around 100-120 to get a constellation.
1- where do you put in the settings for the lens
2- what ISO are you generally shooting at on the A7RIII - I am glad that you brought up about turning the Noise Reduction off
3- Do you find that it works to shoot at the lowest f stop or to go one f stop up from the bottom.
Thanks for the rundown on what worked for you!

    • @TeamAstroworkz
      @TeamAstroworkz  Год назад +1

you mean focal length?? This would go in the telescope focal length settings page - I have been shooting around 1600 on the A7III and it looks good - f stop ... depends on lens .. some are ok fully open ... some work better for star shape / vignetting if stopped down one or two stops

Thanks for the video Simon. Unfortunately I can't get the ASI Air PRO to recognise my A7rii. I've used the app on both a tablet and smartphone. The 'Main camera' tab states 'none' and the slider to the right of it is greyed out.
I've tried different combinations of settings but to no avail......
The Main Settings I've used were:- Manual-BULB mode / Remote Control (both on and off) / USB connection - PC Remote (and others including Auto).
USB LUN setting (Multi & single) / USB power supply (Both on & off) / Quality - RAW - uncompressed / Drive Mode - Single Shooting (BULB mode can only be set when this is set @ single & not continuous for the A7rii)
Focus mode (Manual) / Long Exp NR (off) / Release w/o lens (both enabled / disabled) / Silent shooting - off / e-front curtain shutter - off. Firmware for both camera and Zwo are upto date.
The cable is new and both connections to the camera (multi usb) / ASI (DSLR port) seem to be firmly connected.
ADDENDUM - Now Working....Here are the settings I found that eventually worked....
Connection:- Micro USB (Camera) to USB 2 Port on ASI AIR PRO
Note: - The DSLR Shutter release port is not used - This is what I tried first without success)
Manual Mode - (Ensure Drive Mode is set to Single Shooting to access BULB mode)
    Quality RAW / Uncompressed
    USB Connection - PC Remote
    USB LUN Setting - (Single)
    USB Power Supply - (On)
    Focus Mode - (Manual Focus)
    Long Exposure NR - (Off)
    Steady shot - (Off)
    Zebra - Off)
    Auto Review - (Off)
    Silent Shooting - (Off)
    e-Front Curtain Shutter - (Off)
    APC-C/Super 35mm - (Off)
    Remote Control - (On)
    Hope this helps 🔭🙂
    Regards
    Paul
