As a constructive comment: every tutorial should start by playing in full what you want to teach... It helps seeing the forest before studying the trees, no to mention the leaves

i think the guy does a good job of explaining the structure of the chords, he really paints the picture of why the voicings work and from where they are derived. I found it very helpful. Nice thing about these types of patterns is once you understand the structure, you can interpret it however you like and put your original spice on it. May we all Jam on in the Grand Universe!

Thanks for going through the inversions of the chords as understanding the 'why' helps with the overall construction. Love how while you are teaching some theory you also remind us of simple movements that allow easy transitions. Stevie's stuff always sounds hard until you realize that his voicings are so close and often just changing the bass notes already gets you so close.

Can’t beleive all the complaints about his explaination. I don’t know for me I am so glad to have the theory explained, I know I can soak up use all that information for making my own music. This isn’t a short cut to just play something verbatim, it’s a bunch of tools. I don’t feel any of the talk was surplus but infact very empathetic towards the developing player (or should I say musician, which this is more aimed at). I think it’s a bit impatient to consider this “too much talk”, listening to and understanding these explanations will save us time in the future.

Fun fact: the "sus" is short for "suspended" (people mistakenly think it's 'sustained'), because the fourth or the second is just hangin' in between the other notes in the triad.
Jazz theory is riddled with fun patterns

Your explanation just made me actually start to understand some of the things that go on in this type of music. For the first time ever now i have hope to be able to do some basic jazzy things in the future!! Lol

Very cool and you were probably meaning to say he doesn't play a particular pattern over and over with his left hand but rather mixes it up as all the pros do... they rarely play the exact thing twice. The good news is one can see what works for them; why follow exactly what Stevie does? Having said that, I liked trying them out though as there is always room to attach another car to the train of riffs and knowledge. Happy to have stumbled upon your video. Well done and thanks!

Great tutorial really teach us a lot for the ones who want to play it. Let me just give you a simple advice: stop saying that this part of the song is really difficult as you mentioned. Teachers have to encourage students to do it not to say that or this thing is difficult. And just one more thing you forgot to show the scale that is done at the end of the song. Steve Wonder did you didnt.... 😀 But anyway your video helps a lot. Congratulations 👍
