Great video! but how to record a VR session? If I capture the window I see the 2 eyes... I can "cut" the window inside the OBS and make it bigger to fill the screen, but the quality is degraded a lot (like to make zoom on a compressed file). Also using the oculus mirror (by the way I have quest 2) dows the FPD inside the game and makes it unusable (down up to 10-12 fps). Do you have a trick for VR?
Im struggeling big time recording MSFS.... 🤔 I have an I9 10900k, rtx2080ti, 64 gig 3200MHz Ram, and a SSD M.2 to save my recordings. I have tested almost all of the settings in obs (included the settings in this video). My frame rate in the sim is fine, but once I open the video file It has like 0,3 to 1 fps... I dont have a clue why. It worked fine begor the last update of obs...

As soon as I turn on OBS, and go into MSFS the sound is gone in MSFS. Turn off OBS and the sound comes back on in MSFS
going to try it out will give my verdict soon... one big thing i did not do.. as have on max settings... or 30000... only at 2500... videos were going out awful... fuzzy

How do you screen record? People are saying to use windows + G. However when I record, it also records the flight recorder replay dialogue box in my video which I don’t want… I just want the video of the plane and background not any dialogue boxes…appreciate the help thx
I record mfs2020 and later can only see a black screen and audio playing. Display capture. ?
I tried last night but OBS tanks my FPS so MSFS was unplayable. Without OBS I was getting about 55fps, but as soon as I run OBS it drops to about 8fps. For some reason OBS wanted to use more than 50% GPU usage. I have an RTX 3070.
Did you solve it ?
@@96Tamim I did kind of yeah, by lowering my graphics settings loads. Managed to record some footage on my profile here. ruclips.net/video/yPgAqM62WkQ/видео.html. I've since received my 3080 GPU as well but not had chance to try again yet.
madwedge just watched your video and it looks solid 👌🏻 do you mind giving me your settings in MFS and OBS plzzz? Because am really struggling , BTW am running i7 10700K and 3060Ti , 16GB Ram , i think we almost sharing the same settings
@@96Tamim I have a 3080 and 2k monitor and I simply can’t record MSFS.... the only way I get kinda decent recording is when I lower resolution in game and recording to 1080p AND I minimize the recorder while flying . Still the final footage is stuttery as hell . My game is fine .. I go from 60 to 55 FPS when recording but all good .Why my monster GPU can’t handle smooth recoding when it does keep smooth simulation at ease ??
@@fazpeitia SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I have a solid 60fps normally but when i open up streamlabs it goes 10fps max. I have the best pc thats out rn including the 3090 and all ultra settings. I cant even make vids anymore :(. If you have solved it lmk pleaseeeeee
How does this if I don’t want to record no audio like me talking and only record my game and the game sounds.?
What do I need to do when my video breaks even though everything is correct and the computer is really fast...?
In MSFS2020, what is the difference in MAP setting launch between BLEND, SATELLITE, and IFR?
I believe that the IFR gets rid of the satellite distraction in the background however I dont see much of a difference between blend and IFR. Maybe someone else will have more information on it.

Is OBS better for recording than nVidia ShadowPlay? If so, in what way?
Shadow play is great but OBS will give you a lot more control over your recording, streaming and settings.

yes it does a lot. Poorly optimised MSFS2020 does not like OBS or other programs.
Does anyone experience game crashes after replaying?

This unfortunately doesn't work at all. Very choppy and the frame rate is ultra low no matter what settings are entered. Very disappointing.

I use OBS all the time to record my flight simulator sessions. It's very easy with excellent quality.
