In reality, most snipers in airsoft are actually playing as DM style. A sniper is a type of marksman who operates from a semi to completely stationary position. A standard airsoft field doesn’t typically fit the bill. Mil sims on the other hand usually do leave room for that type of combat role, or sometimes benefit from it.

That weapon arsenal sniper mentality is a slippery damn slope...when I was younger I specifically remember doing that. In case I got overrun with my bolt rifle, I had my SCAR-L with me. Then, from time to time, I'd also carry an upgraded M4 in my backpack that I'd leave in strategic locations in case for some freak reason both quit working. And then, oh god...the sidearms. I carried either an M9 or an HK45 with me, and on top of that I somehow came into ownership of a WE 1911 that I kept on my weak side. In my pack, I never entered the field without my $10 spring pistol.
About the only pro-tip I learned from all of that was that the $10 spring pistol in the backpack is actually a really damn good investment for bigger games. Especially if you fill all of the hollow plastic bits with foam. It becomes a silent death machine that doesn't care about batteries or gas, and it got me out of quite a few jams.

PS I have seen some revolvers that can actually function as a Sniper.

hi, im a mix 7 and 10. The "breacher scout sniper". AS Striker 02 fully upgraded with a ferrum SIII spring shotgun in backpack and a colt gas pistol. Also with grenades. A multitask role. Snipe and push, then change gun and push hard! Thats why the short and low weigh sniper 👍. I like to play like that to exploit all posibilities in the field and be able to help team in any task at any moment. obviously, snipe takes time to play good, but playing like scout sniper is more flexible and usefull because a good sniper can take down enemys from very far, but others cant from that far, so better do a mixture and train the combo. If you shot slower you will try to aim better and success! 🤗 a weird combo im using i know, but changing roles makes the game more funny for me 😝 (pd: shotgun fun factor)

cqb sniper i must admit is my style.... i mean just rushing thro buildings with a mosin nagant is hella epic
so many of these are about how snipers cant fire fast. and honestly, this is the thin that draws so many players away from snipers. this is why my favourite novirtsch gun is the ssx303. sniper like accuracy and range, but having semiauto. not to mention its extreme silence and mag compatability this makes the ssx303 a silent workhorse.
I am now number five, I wear a full ghille, NVGs, have native camouflage and attached foliage, hide in the middle of bushes, have advanced IR scopes and lasers, with a silenced Mk 14 EBR, silenced F200, silenced FPS-9 sidearm, and combat knife. I have been known to wait hours on one shot.
