    We lived in Bangkok 1969-1971 and went to Pattaya often during that time. This brought back memories. Went back to Pattaya several times from 2003-2008. Unbelievable changes.

    Nipa Lodge, beautiful place, we have been there many times in the 80s. Never forgot Mr. Lek, chief of pool area... Thanks for the memories.

    Looks very nice then, 1971 a few troops on rest and relaxation then. Always stay in Jomtien not so busy.

      there was a R&R center located at the north end of the beach road{before it turned right} then continued to the main hwy. This R&R center was used by US military stationed in-country. The Nam R&R guys seldom made it out of Bangkok and most were more interested in the Bangkok bars then the Pattaya Beach.I was stationed at Pattaya Beach R&R Center from Dec.1971, til it's closing in Feb.1973. My NCOIC was Sgt. Rick Riveria, from Brooklin, NY
