    I've already commented once but I'll comment again.
    This music is just, it's just so much. It's strange to relate to someone of the 1600s. There's so much going on that just fills you with emotion.
    If ghosts were real I'd have to have a beer with this one.
    Such a shame we can't have record of them in their casual life. This music truely transcends time.

    I love when you find players who take a little improvisational liberty with the score. Baroque music can get so dry without a little spirit.

      From what I've listened to and heard about, Accademia Bizantina is good at taking liberties with Baroque music without losing historical accuracy. I really like their work

    I love how every obscure composer I come across you already have a video of. Barrière is incredible, specially these works. La Plancy is hysterically good

    Thank you for posting hidden gems like this collection! I've borrowed a harpsichord for a few months and learnt to play 'La Dupont' - although the arpeggios make it sound difficult, it is very comfortable to play. I got really intrigued by the beginning of the piece, which has a passage almost sounding like stride piano!

    This is so melodramatic it could almost be Grand Guignol, especially La Dupont. 💜

      The engraved score is on IMSLP too, it's in the same page where you found the manuscript. :)

    I am not to impressed by this. In those days a moderately skilled musician was supposed to improvise sth like this just by reading a ciphered bass. Even now I am able to do this.

      I would have to disagree on the basis that the French conception of 'pieces de clavecin' contains an inherent importance of the piece as the composer wrote it out, as opposed to other musical traditions which you reference.

    • @farrelpermadi5471
      @farrelpermadi5471 3 года назад +8

      @@CameronK665 I felt you, I also disagreed with what he said. Because these pieces needed to be improvised to make it sound like musician's own interpretation in my opinion. I like those that have improvisations, actually. But of course, again, anyone can make a critique of an art because of a matter of taste or other factors.
