I would not recommend drinking tap water that stood for a day. Chlorine is there to make sure bacteria don't grow. When the chlorine is gone bacteria may have grown. The chlorine levels in tap water are too low anyway, might as well drink it.

The presenter was right to say " there not enough evidence to say Alkaline water is good or better, but the woman just answered" drinking water is good for us " She is not actually answer the presenter questions .haha ,!!
The General Manager was ill-prepared for this interview. She started with the concept of alkaline water and how it helps to neutralise the stomach (which will always be acidic or it wouldn't be able to do its functions) but was stumped by the question on the lack of study on alkaline water. It went downhill from there and she totally dug a grave for herself by telling us that alkaline water molecules are smaller.
Alkaline water is a marketing gimmick. The water that enters your stomach gets neutralized by the acid anyways so it is as good as worthless. Get mineral/spring bottled water instead of distilled (might as well boil your water). As for brands, I highly recommend Volvic (good price-quality ratio) and Fiji. Evian, Voss, Aqua Panna are too thick and chalky in terms of taste, imo. Icelandic is almost like distilled (super low TDS) but at a premium price. Don't even bother about Ice Mountain and Life (worse than Dasani).
I stopped watching after the sommelier claims that "water cannot enter into cells without electrolytes". This goes against everything I've learnt about osmosis in school. (But I'm relieved our tap water has 0 microplastic particles per litre.)
U missed out a major point and that is does the water have antioxidant property.... Water having orp negative is very beneficial for our overall health..
I think some things everyone should be aware of is that while water does not go bad necessarily, the plastic bottle does. It can degrade into the water. If left in a hot car after falling to the floor and being left there for a a long time (perhaps a day, a week, a month or more?) it will be more unsafe to drink as time goes on. So, imo, the microplastic test could just be that those bottles are older and high amount could just result from an older bottle. Also, all bottled water and perhaps some tap water that isn't well water has some amount of chlorine purposefully mixed in to it to prevent unwanted bacteria from growing. As for which is best, technically you want mineral water of some kind, depending on where you live and where your water comes tap water works. Tap may actually be best as it can reduce plastic used, save you money, as well as give you the minerals your body needs and expects from water. Technically, adding a filter or purifier can reduce the minerals making it less "healthy." Since it may not matter what you drink, overall, imo you should go for tap water either straight or purified/filtered depending on your locations water source and your preferred taste to save money and plastic. If you really want some electrolyte water I would recommend electrolyte tablets in your water every now and then. But it isn't usually needed unless you aren't getting enough minerals like salt or sweating immensely.
I'm curious about two things. I've always been slowly brainwashed into thinking certain waters are better for making tea or coffee. Is this valid or just hype? Also, if microplastics are a possible danger. What can you do to avoid it? I understand keeping plastic away from light is better. Especially those places that place plastic bottles outside in heat not just in direct sunlight. What are the best options for those bottled water or other drinks when it comes to plastic leeching into the drink itself. Does this also negatively affect your food you put into your fridge in plastic containers? What about those plastic containers for simple heating in your microwave or oven. Do they actually increase plastics in the food because it's heated in a plastic tray rather than a different container like Metal or Glass
@@NK_Khoo-Malaysian Doesn't address the few questions I asked. I understand that the oceans are full of plastic and the fish have now been ingesting it at alarming rates I'm more concerned about not drinking liquid in general in plastic containers, and I know direct light on plastic containers (or heated plastic) for food and beverages can lead to leeching into the stuff in the containers I've been slowly investigating the possibility of a better cup of tea or coffee. Using pH balanced water. As well as water that has been filtered. I found that Walmart brand coffee can be acceptable if you use better water. If you use tap water (at least in my area) I've had way too many mixed results from totally crappy to tastes weird I appreciate your comment but between not wanting to use plastic water so to speak and making a good beverage I'm just curious Especially since I lived near a military base that used PFAS fire foam chemicals that leeched into township water. Because have these forever chemicals inside me So I'm trying to be as neutral as possible now to not friggin die earlier than I would like. 😑

@@NK_Khoo-Malaysian Oddly enough I've seen the opposite. Bottling companies like Coke and Pepsi specifically state not to store it outside in direct light because of heat and UV related issues. The rate of loss of carbonation, loss of colour and loss of sweetness. A warmer storage environment than normal can leach trace amounts of antimony, a hard metal, from PET water bottles
I would say this debate depends on your living style and where you live. In certain countries, tap water have higher chance of toxic exposure so bottled water is more preferred. PH level relevant but depending on your living style, kidney work hard to balance your ph level in range around 5 to 8, most soda and many processed drink that taste good are often under ph of 3, so higher ph water may help kidney for some people. For most people who don't excessively drink sodas, lemonade, etc, regular drinking water between 5-7 ph is totally fine.
Drinking anything with different pH levels doesn't affect the pH levels in your blood, and the efficacy of pH water borders on pseudoscience levels depending on who you talk to. The things that would affect your blood pH from a metabolic standpoint would be substances that break down into acidic/basic products in the kidneys. The first thing that comes to mind would be ethylene glycol, a substance that's not particularly acidic or basic but will drastically decrease the pH of your blood since the kidneys will break it down into acid. Unless you're suffering from particular illnesses or aren't being poisoned, your body automatically regulates the pH of your blood. It's the reason why when treating high/low pH in the blood, doctors avoid directly affecting your blood pH via an IV and instead try to determine the root cause of the change in pH. I should note that they do not prescribe liquids with different pH to help patients regulate their blood pH.
@@itz0re0time I'm not a doctor or a scientist, so I am not 100% what you're trying to tell me, but it sounded like you're saying it doesn't matter. I guess my interpretation of the reading I did agree mostly with what you said with exception that you're overlooking the process but focused on the end result. It's true that ph of water doesn't impact the blood ph, but that's because body regulate that, doesn't body have to work harder to regulate this if what you're drinking is heavily out of range? Again, I am not an expert in this, everything is an opinion which could be totally wrong. Not that it's important to me or the world. LoL
@@Steven-xf8mz It's all good, sorry if I came off as rude. I've dealt with a lot of alkaline water zealots irl so I've grown frustrated. To my knowledge, any changes to your blood pH that would've normally occurred without your kidneys due to the ingestion of acidic/basic drinks would be VERY marginal, if any. Not only that, we have a second mechanism that regulates pH, which is the lungs. To put it simply, higher pH = more H+ (hydrogen ion), oxygen from the lungs are introduced into the bloodstream, oxygen combines with H+ to form OH- (hydroxide ion), which increases the alkalinity of your blood. This is one of the reasons why people hyperventilate during diabetic attacks, because one of the things that occur during a diabetic attack a huge increase in blood pH. So because we have multiple systems that regulate pH and due to the VERY marginal changes (if any) caused by the ingestion of low/high pH substances, any adverse impact to the kidneys would be negligible.
