If Gaura starts looking ragged mid-season, cut back all the flower stems to rejuvenate and get a late-season flush of blooms.

Gaura has a long taproot, so it doesn't need to be watered often; only on the driest parts of the summer.

Mine came back this year, but the stems are not standing up very well. They seem to be kind of falling down on themselves, and I’ve only seen a few flowers. Any advice?

What are the bright pink flowers planted next to the white gaura? Beautiful.

A great plant to place in hard to maintain places, and will still provide a nice effect, great background plants.

White guara is found all across South Africa. Similar climate to TX I'd imagine. Periods of no rain and hot sun. Summer here now so out in all its glorious display. Also known as whirling butterflies.

In a heavy winter it might be a good idea to mulch to protect its roots from cold exposure.

Remove spent flower spikes to prolong bloom period. Thin flower stems tend to become leggy and flop, particularly when grown in rich soils, and plants can benefit from close planting or support from adjacent perennials.
