I’ve done this extra brake light mod before but was lucky that my 1995 jetta glx has 3 wire plug on the tail light harness. Car looks nice.

Take the old cloth of the recaro seats home because the cloth is rare.
If you could make them double filament and work with brake and runners..
you can get a small version of a 1157 bubl which is half out put to match the oem run brightness
I was gonna do this on my golf but it's illegal to run front and rear fogs in Australia without actual fog

Lights would look good if it was same brightness as the outlets. Bright like that looks bad imo
