I keep telling myself it's ok to love both. Ha! But seriously, these planners are SO fancy. They make me a feel a little bit more grown up and Happy Planner keeps me in touch with my silly/creative side. Thanks so much for being here!
That plaid EttaVee is one of my favorite covers right now! I need to order it. And yes, the Happy Planners do fit in the folios! I have one in mine right now. EC is my favorite paper so I can't give it up but I've enjoyed getting back into Happy Planner (amongst others).

Hot tip: cut off the punched side and paste in your fav HP dividers over the blank EC ones 😉Plum Paper covers also work on EC if you like any of their designs. You can also snip any coiled page if you wanted it to be removeable like on a disc planner. I think EC has better quality books but I like the design variety of HP a lot more....Since you have all those Happy Planners you can use em for parts to customize your ECs!

@@Thesweetlifeofaplannergirl you wouldn't! you can snip the pages where they meet the coil so you can take them out and pop them back in easily, like you would a disc planner. coil stays as is!

I have been using the EC vegan leather blush soft snap covers for awhile. I cut down an old HP back cover and used it to slide in that while it popped on the back of my planner.

I too am trying out EC for the first time after a few years of HP. I got their daily duo, and I LOVE the paper! I still love HP but don’t love all their layouts for things. Don’t like their daily pages or their budget planners. I’m a Budget Mom Budget By Paycheck user. I may switch to EC hour planner Life Planner in 2026, I got a gorgeous HP weekly for the next year and a half so can wait. HP has amazing weekly planners for decorating, but I don’t find them as functional as other brands. I’m still playing with other brands :) I wanna try Cloth & Paper at some point too
I’ve gotten the cloth and paper sub box before. Their stuff is really nice! I can’t wait to hear what you think of the daily duo!!
Love the paper. I have slight tremors and the grit really helps my handwriting. I do struggle with getting the covers back on.

EC has a snap in chore chart as well, but it may be out of stock at the moment. It is in the dashboard section under accessories - not that I am constantly going through their website or anything….

Honestly, if good paper is your thing, happy planner probably isn’t the way to go. The paper is not great and there is shadowing.
HP paper quality seems to have declined in the last few years. I don’t trust it not to rip or for pens to bleed through, ghost or shadow. I absolutely love EC paper, and will probably always have at least one EC in my lineup

I don't use stickers too much, but I know Planner Kate makes full-page stickers for the notes pages so she might have something that will work for you for your customizations.

I tried EC back in 2015 and it wasn’t for me at the time. Tried several others and later found HP and have been with HP for many years but over Black Friday I got a few EC planners and feel in love with the A5 size. Love the compact vertical A5 and just got the daily duo in A5 because I think I can end up using less planners than when I was with HP. I did move to a hemlock and oak daily for my journaling. This year I did dated but next year I’ll do the undated so I can get the month overview/reflection and some goals. I also found Makselife for goals. Yes been life changing to move away from HP and finding what works for me.
EC’s paper is superior to anything I’ve ever tried.
Also since EC isn’t as accessible ie in Micheal’s, Joann’s etc I’m not buying planners just because they are on sale or look pretty which was becoming a real problem
Yeah that is the issue. It’s not that accessible in stores. And I really do like both! This will be fun to try.
I was an EC girl for years but then discovered disc planning. I don’t think I could go back to a coil planner again.
That’s so interesting to me. Why is that?

Planning is such a unique craft because everyone’s needs are vastly different. I think it’s totally doable to use a coil bound planner but right now for my needs that just wasn’t working. I really hope my comment didn’t come across as rude. That wasn’t my intent at all. I love all your content and I’m so excited to see how you use all your planners 💕

Hi can you share how the cover fits on a happy planner
Unfortunately, I don't think these covers can fit on an HP. These are punched for the coil instead of discs. However, I have seen some folks cut (GASP!) the coil off and repunch their covers to fit on discs. But then it would be slightly less wide and not cover your tabs.

I don’t like that you can’t customize the order of your pages I prefer my 12 months of calendar all in one section but otherwise they are nice

It’s not for everyone, but have you considered uncoiling and recoiling your EC Planner? It’s actually not that hard! I wanted the Month and Dashboard of one pattern and the weeks of another, so I uncoiled and recoiled two 18 month EC 7x9” planners! It will be even easier now that the Dashboard is on the back of the Month as opposed to being on the opposite side of the beginning of a weekly layout. You could easily move all of the months in one group with all of the weekly spreads in another.
