Season 6 just gets darker and darker. And I don't think Buffy particularly thinks of Spike; I think she knows something is wrong because she can't really feel much. Sex with Spike is the only time she can feel emotion, even if that emotion is passion. She tries to feel happiness for Xander and Anya and she tries to feel like a caretaker to Dawn, but those feelings seem dulled in comparison to how she felt before she died and was brought back to life. You are absolutely right. She doesn't feel the thrill of life, and the only thrill she can feel is what she has with Spike.
