Love Gold Clip! Purchased it immediatly after a short demo. Fantastic on mixbus and killer on snare (add the gold to snare too, it's freaking amazing)!
It’s a killer on vocals! Just an itty-bitty clipping to catch the rouge peaks plus the gold and alchemy to push it in the front of the sonic stage without the harshness. You’re welcome
I downloaded the demo and tried it on my track. I made 4 different mixed versions of the track, used the gold clip on 2 versions and blindly listened to them in the car. Guess which versions I liked better... The ones without the Gold clip. Saves me 250 bucks, nice! I also didnt like the iLok stuff, but I can imagine sir Schwabe not wanting to have his plugin pirated after all that work developing it.
Honestly that clipper looks awesome. The gold knob reminds me of the low level slider of the Waves MV2. I will be waiting for a sail on that one but believe I'll get it one day.
Great demo on Schwabe Gold Clip. Is it worth it? To me, YES. I use it on every mix on my 2 bus. A pretty high level of input audio can be pushed in before the distortion is audible. I set the blue clip threshold to -1 dB, and then push the input +2 dB up into the clip line. Then I think I compensate by setting Output to -2 dB. Gold at Classic at 3.50. I do use the Classic Gold setting. I believe what Gold is doing would be something like an expander. I also use the Alchemy to take the small harshness off the top.
That’s awesome man. I’ve been using it a lot lately too. It is a pretty great plugin, and when you find yourself using a plugin in almost every session - the price becomes worth it
Sr this is expensive but its the best clipper for Mastering i used others on the Market but this Magical, looks overprice but not, at the end of the day the results its the important thing, you pay for sound better in Mastering, i think this clipper is for Mastering not for mixing, thanks for sharing with us. Greetings from Miami
@@spinlightstudios i understand your concern but its only 25€ and it's worth i have tried a few and stick always with this one and as once i wise man said there is never enouph clippers 😂
I mean, Kclip, Novaclip, standard clip are all good choices too. Good clip has a few features built into like the box tone and the gold & alchemy knobs which aren’t something you find in other clippers.
It’s a nice plugin, but what’s wrong with these guys that think there plugins are worth more then my DAW that house so much more than one plugin…I’ll only pay that price if it’s coming in and mixing my tracks.. lol way too pricey 1 love
NO plugin is worth 249$, let's be honest!! 😂🤦🏼♂️ Some good studios charge less than that for a day, most mastering jobs cost less than that per track, and some pretty good mixers will mix a song for less than that. 🤷🏼♂️ By making and by definition, these are just litte piece of code, which plug into a DAW to work, which means they can't even be used outside of that environment, without a DAW. (Not to mention that should the company stop updating or catering for future OS changes, you're screwed!) And how much does a DAW cost today?? Plugin prices should ALL be around 50$ as some not-so-greedy plugin companies (Valhalla, Tokyo Dawn, Kazrog, Hornet, Boz, and others) already do, and the absolute max price ceiling even allowed should be regulated by law at 100$. Anything more is dishonest, I say.
While I agree the price is pretty crazy, I think people can charge what they want, they just won’t make any sales ultimately if no one is willing to pay!
A long time ago in galaxy far away, I paid something insane like close to $400 for the Abbey Road RS127 & RS135 Eqs (A set of 3eqs- 2 of them with only 3 fixed bands & 1 with only 8khz band) before Softube acquired them. I still use them & IMHO those 3 eqs are worth more money and give more emotion to your music than this here clipper. I compared this thing to a few FREE clippers out there & Standard CLIP & to me it's outrageous how anyone is going to put a clipper plugin out & claim its the bee knees with that price....All y'all are getting blown away over marketing hype-DISGUSTING! Clipping on the Master buss has a tendency of reducing the stereo field & really should be avoided or done very carefully. Remember it was top echelon of mastering engineers that discovered this with the LAVRY.
You could get a whole bunch of world class tried and tested UAD plugins for less than that, or pretty much any of best software synths or other instruments. This does sound good, but the price is a joke, especially when you have amazing and more affordable clippers like Ash or Kclip.
Is It Worth $249?!
Well a Golden Clipper should also have a Golden Price 😂 WHY NOT?
@@edwardkenemorales 🤑🤑🤑🤑
@@spinlightstudios But to be fair, it does sound good 😉
Nope.

Gonna have to try it on snare!

Yep, it’s become a staple on my vocal chain.
Very nice! Maybe it's using upward compression, that's why the transients are maintained so well. Very smooth though.
It is pretty smooth!

yes its worth $249. it replaces at least three plugins thats on my wishlist. id be saving money by getting this.
I don't think it's worth $249, for 99$ maybe I would grab it. Good tool, nice to have but not a game-changer
It’s a steep entry point. Don’t think I’ve ever spent that much on one plugin… besides melodyne 😅
@@spinlightstudios me too haha
lot of $$$ But Def Worth It I gotta Save to Buy This
Has this track been released??
FYI - If you swap the 'gold' on the side to another setting you get 6db instead of 2.5 and you should be able to hear more of it.
Oh sweet, must have missed that one!
So what would you prefer more modern or the classic style on the Gold setting ?

Sounds Good but that price 😂😂😂
I've been using StandardClip by Sir Audio Tools.
I’ve been meaning to check out standard clip… but I mean.. I have a few clippers already 😅

Standard clip is amazing clipper for its price. I can’t wait to compare them to each other.
Alchamy is just a -1db highself
Absolutely worth it.
I’ve been enjoying using it a lot!
I WISH it was only $249! Convert that to Aus bucks and it’s closer to $400! At least they have a “rent to buy” option.
Yeah it’s brutal !
@ I still bought it 😂😂
I’ve used it ALOT since I’ve gotten it, it’s great.
@@spinlightstudios I’ve been struggling to get my music loud enough to compete on Spotify etc, this thing seems to be the missing link.
Which clippers would you recommend in its place?

Gold sounds like a subtler version of sonnox inflator

I really wanted to hate on it... But it sounds kinda great!
It’s pretty good 👍🏻 but 💰
No, it’s not worth 249$… 99$ in regular price and 49$ in promo is MAX… acoustica ash for 79$ in promo is GOAT
