I am using dragonfly cobalt. Same procedure I followed not working. My phone is iPhone 12 Pro Max & my car is Highlander 2019. Appreciate your any suggestion.
So you followed all this and bought all that and it didn't work? I am interested in good sound too, but if it doesn't work I don't want to bother wasting money and time.
Thanks for this video! I absolutely love what this little guy did for my sound system in my car, my aftermarket speakers needed a push and this guy did it!👌🏽 I don’t have the JitterBug just yet, still wondering if it makes that world of a difference! 🤔
Hi role1 The jitterbug will work better in home audio, since you are using it in car audio its audio signal is much cleaner and doesn't need a filter(jitterbug)
Carlos Carrejo you should use the auxiliary in your car stereo! Because If you process again the signal, then it will sound not as good as it should! So the tip is after the dragonfly output play it directly in your stereo
I did like your video! You did a great job! I installed/upgraded the factory speakers, dsp, amplifier, etc. in my 2019 Lexus UX. The sound is fantastic, but at the maximum volume there’s a slight hiss that bothers me so i had to reduce the maximum volume in order to get ride of that, but it’s just slightly too low for my taste... just slightly! I’m going to purchase this in hopes of it boosting my sound volume and quality. I’ll let you know how it works out. Thanks again.
Do I really need to buy the jitterbug? What if I just use dragonfly black/red? I just want to play Tidal MQA in my car. [iPhone 12 Pro]. Okay I just tried this setup with Dragonfly black...sometimes the music short out? Is that what the Jitterbug fix?
I bought the Apple product to connect the iPhone & the DAC. It worked for a while. But now it doesn’t charge my iPhone anymore? Has this happen to anyone else? If so, did you find out the problem? Also, how can it be fixed?
I know someone else here had an issue with this but my 2019 Honda CRV doesn't have a 3.5 auxiliary input only a USB input for charging my phone and I can listen to music. I could connect everything you did but I'll leave me with the aux cable and nowhere to put it. Not sure what to do.
@@wilsonsolorzano2854 I haven't thought about this issue since I wrote this but I am going to purchase a new stereo system in the near future and hopefully it will come with an aux input. You'd think that with today's technology they would have a cable or something that would connect the DAC straight to the USB input or something like that.
If you use direct USB to car then the audio will be processed through the head unit DAC, which makes the use of an external DAC pointless. To make use of an external DAC you need to connect to the head unit using an AUX cable.
well, aux in is analog. so no need for digital to analog conversion. still some cars or head units /may/ add some additional conversion because of DSP etc. Still: garbage in - garbage out: so the goal of the dragonfly is not made obsolete.
I have the same question. Obviously there may be benefits if you are using a car’s aux port, but if you’re using a digital signal (like CarPlay) then I suspect the benefits ultimately come down to whether the DAC in your vehicle head unit is better than the one in the dragonfly.

Hi maltby Yes even if u use the aux input the sound would go through your radio's dac, but if you use the dragonfly its sound would be much closer to the original recording. Remember OEM DACs are not as good as 3rd parties, most of the time
CarPlay is a purely digital system, meaning It relies on a USB signal from the phone and then uses the vehicle’s DAC to create the analog audio signals. The DragonFly can not be used with wired CarPlay audio, although if you had wireless CarPlay and a 3.5mm jack you could listen to the aux input via the OEM stereo interface and use CarPlay for app integration (I.e. maps, contacts, phone).
@@toorop111 I pretty much answered this above. Wired CarPlay requires on the lightning jack, which you'd use to hook up the DAC to your phone. You can do this with wireless CarPlay by tying the DAC to your vehicle's aux input in the OEM stereo controls. To have the car play work and audio would you need a usb hub between the Dac and back to the car in separate connection?
It would not work so good since the audio is converted again by the CD player I believe
