    If you get the Dragonfly Cobalt you don't need the JitterBug anymore, because the technology is integrated already plus some other improvements.

      Carlos Carrejo you should use the auxiliary in your car stereo!

      So the tip is after the dragonfly output play it directly in your stereo

    I did like your video! You did a great job! I installed/upgraded the factory speakers, dsp, amplifier, etc. in my 2019 Lexus UX. The sound is fantastic, but at the maximum volume there’s a slight hiss that bothers me so i had to reduce the maximum volume in order to get ride of that, but it’s just slightly too low for my taste... just slightly! question: Wouldnt the aux signal ultimately be going through the car radio's DAC anyway? Aren't all the eq's and effects on your radio digital?

    • @econautx
      @econautx 3 года назад +1

      well, aux in is analog. so no need for digital to analog conversion. still some cars or head units /may/ add some additional conversion because of DSP etc. Still: garbage in - garbage out: so the goal of the dragonfly is not made obsolete.

    • @Elucidus
      @Elucidus 3 года назад

      I have the same question. Obviously there may be benefits if you are using a car’s aux port, but if you’re using a digital signal (like CarPlay) then I suspect the benefits ultimately come down to whether the DAC in your vehicle head unit is better than the one in the dragonfly.

    • @toorop111

      Yes even if u use the aux input the sound would go through your radio's dac, but if you use the dragonfly its sound would be much closer to the original recording.

      I haven't tried the carplay yet

    • @Elucidus
      @Elucidus 3 года назад

      CarPlay is a purely digital system, meaning It relies on a USB signal from the phone and then uses the vehicle’s DAC to create the analog audio signals.
      The DragonFly can not be used with wired CarPlay audio, although if you had wireless CarPlay and a 3.5mm jack you could listen to the aux input via the OEM stereo interface and use CarPlay for app integration (I.e. maps, contacts, phone).

    • @toorop111
      @toorop111 3 года назад

      Would USB to 3.5mm work (lightning/3.5mm adapter) work? Over CarPlay??

    • @Elucidus
      @Elucidus 3 года назад

      @@toorop111 I pretty much answered this above. Wired CarPlay requires on the lightning jack, which you'd use to hook up the DAC to your phone.
      You can do this with wireless CarPlay by tying the DAC to your vehicle's aux input in the OEM stereo controls.
      The Kenwood aftermarket head units in my vehicles have 24bit/96kHz DACs in them, so there's not an advantage to bringing the DAC into the vehicle. It depends on the head unit in your vehicle as to whether this is a fruitful effort. Plus, in most of my vehicles, the noise floor is so high that chasing the highest-end audio is fruitless.

      If you're using Android phone you need to buy the USB audio Pro App... And then in the settings go to MQA Purchase and then buy the MQA unlock for another 3.99
      This will let you playback Tidal in Master quality but using the USB Audio Pro App...
      Then it's just a matter of the quality of your cars speaker system if they can play frequency of over 50khz

      Well I am using a USB lightning adapter with 2 inputs: one USB port (for the dragonfly) and one usb lightning port (for the extra battery)
      If you choose to use one that has just one USB port, you will not have any port left to charge your phone while listening to music.
