Which Big Daddy Kane album is the best?
The First One!
Long live the Kane
Lessons from a real olskool living legend ✌️💯
Long Live the Kane. But that was one of my first albums on vinyl so I might be a little biased
ain't no half steppin
Big Daddy Kane was so ahead of his time, and is STILL killing it.
" When the pen hits the paper, oh shit" - Big Daddy Kane
Bro he ain’t killing shit right now
I grew up on Kane. Hearing him spit that line took me back.
I still know all the words to Ain't No Half Steppin! That was back when we did the rewind/write down for the lyrics...
Rappers steppin to me, they wanna get some
But I'm the Kane so yo, you know the outcome.
I was typing this out and even my phone knows the lyrics. 🤣🤣🤣. Classic joint.
It really did
Kane was soooo good. Still one of my goats wit kool g
I came to NYC in 88. I didn't speak any English and I missed the opportunity to really understand this music. Now that I am 50 and my English is my first language, I am able to appreciate this music, and I wish I would have started earlier.
Shiiit... Em mustve taken that to heart cause he always does that these day
Definitely. You cant consider yourself the goat or in that conversation if you cant at least do what the first wave of goats did. I personally believe theres no one goat. My point being Hip Hop is his drug. Unlike other mcees we hold high hes the one who constantly stays in rap. No knock ok them either. Theyre older and enjoying life. Rap isn’t everything they are but to em it is. He has the luxury of being someone whos a student of Hip Hop and is constantly applying it. If you look at revival, kamikaze then both sides of MTBMB, you see he took the craft to heart even more. Its like he sat and studied kane, rakim, ll cool j, etc for hours to formulate his attack plan.
It’s just absolutely bonkers that dudes like Kane and Rakim were rapping like this in the mid fucking 80s. Like holy shit most mfs were still on that nursery rhyme shit at that time
@@Gardenstategreat1225you doing too much. I could've sworn Nas just dropped 6 albums in 3 years and led the charge for Hip Hop at 50. Where was Marshall for all this?
@elbowgang9715 doing battle raps and trying to be discovered because apparently no likes white guys rapping....on top of that, he was trying to learn from the greats by studying their music until he got discovered. Any more questions?
You know how many Stans I've said this exact thing 2! 6 solid to great albums in 3 years!! Nas the 🐐@@elbowgang9715
This is one of the things I love about Em. Still a student in the game learning from from those that came before him
A lot of his fans should take note and do exactly what he does but they don't.
To be great in the top 10 you forever hace to be a student in this game called life... and hold yourself accountable during your by yourself meeting, to analyze and correct upon how only YOU can be greater....
That is one of the real reasons I respect Em; he stays humble, also, it’s his STANS that make it rough for him 😂
@oblongbox5110 you probably want to grow up to be just like meee!!!
@@oblongbox5110 I have noticed that in some of the Em fans...those type folks probably never liked Rap until Eminem. That's the main reason I became a fan because I could tell Em was a legit student of the genre, he's immersed in it.
Big Daddy Kane was on another level 🔥🔥
This just shows me how serious Marshal takes this rap shit. He lives, breaths and dies by it. He’s a true fan of hip hop.
one day em will be age 90
You literally can be the most surface level follower of hip hop to know Kane and G rap are responsible for multibar rhymes
Well seed. Yes 😊👍👍 an he been thay way sints he was 14 teen. In the sauce mag. Way before slim shady LP from that day he was in the sauce mag. I new he was going to blow up big time.
Big Daddy Kane and Rakim the master were both ahead of their times!!! 💪🏽💯🔥
Word. And krs one team dog .Juru the damidger P dog .list go s on.
I’ve ALWAYS been a fan of Big Daddy Kane, not only because of his Legendary career as a Great MC, because his humility & because of the way he ALWAYS carried himself, being RESPECTFUL is the ONLY OPTION!!!
Kane is amazing a national treasure ❤
ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATEST 🎤🎵🎼🎶
I love the mutual respect they have for each other. Ems payed a lot of homage to the OGs throughout his career a real student of hiphop & now one of the goats
Cause EM' learned frm da' GOATS 🐐 B4 HIM!! 😮😮
This why I don't agree with those that say Em is a guest in the house of hip hop even though he kinda agreed with that I think he said that to keep the peace. As deep as he is into the art there's no way imo that he agrees with the term guest in the house of hip hop. He one of the only mcs at that level that still humbles himself to the architects of the art. Anyone that puts as much as he does into making his music really mean something with every bar and damn near every word is not a damn guest. I feel he created another lane weather it be bonkers or not he created it and it blew. That's his. But still the guy pays homage. That's real and one who deserves a rightful throne in hip hop. I didn't say THE throne but def A throne 💪🏾💪🏾
legendary Big Daddy Kane
Kane was sooooo ahead of the game
One of the best to do it in the 80s.
Kane was absolutely KILLIN shit on that first album!! Mad respect!! Long live the Kane!!!
Word ? What's the name of his first album again I forgot my cuzzn had caset copy.
The big K… a legend… dude was smooth and was able to dance. I seen them live at the tunnel West side, NYC
kane is a true legend in the game!
Kane did so much 4 the culture. He got us alot of respect 4 the other side
"So whatchu want huh, dope or dog food?".... Classic line. The man helped define my youth and for that I am grateful.
See Melle Mel, this is how you honour your legacy. We all look up to you OG’s………still 🙏🏾
Niiiiice touch going into Marley Marl's sublime "Ain't No Half Steppin'" beat as Kane was spittin' that bar....🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kane looking like Hip Hop Thanos.
Why this short so wholesome af
Word 💥 one Lov from Australia.
Love. Live. The. *Kane.*
Best Hip Hop performer ever known !
Em is definitely a student, of the hip hop game. Big Daddy Kane is the illest MC, to ever touch a Mic.
Kane was dope, but Rakim is the God MC. He wrote the book on rhyming that people like Kane and Kool G Rap followed.
Em over took rakim though he has more to bring. Beats production raps hits bars battle rap real free styling and so on. Man's a rap gift just sad he sold out. Sad anyone does for fame or money.
@@TheLoveHealingCompany None of that made much sense. Em himself says Rakim is the GOAT. And how did Em sell out? Nobody thinks that. If anything he was gimmicky only in the beginning of his career.
@LastSifu em says many are better than him but my opinion is em is the best.
And all celebs are sell outs. They show this through many videos signs codes dates and more. Research helps this. Example do you understand the 2030 agreement? What about 90 percent of the famous rich and media and so on are attached to the red shoe or pedo rings? Why don't they speak out even if those who try have had sudden suicide like Chester to avicci. Never mind the cancer act or anything like mrna to gmo.
@@LastSifuhow did they follow when they were all out at the same time? Kane G Rap and Rakim are Peers. They absolutely did not follow Rakim. They all had different styles but came out the same time. I was there in NY u obviously weren't
I thought something was wrong with me
..the example the interviewer used was not the question Em asked. Was glad Kane straightened it out because I was lost.
Thought the same thing
Nah, the example the interviewer used was correct. “Done fine/one line/sunshine” - these are multi-syllable rhymes since you have not one but two syllables that rhyme with each other (“done/one/sun” and “fine/line/shine”)
@@ShiffteeExcellent observation. I actually didn't think about that until I read your comment
@jordan.j.johnson this is what convo social media should look like...gotta listen again!
The interviewer kinda messed it up because he was stumbling. Bad delivery like first time seeing it... He had no flow and probably was just as clueless about the example and question. Like repeating a lyric from Em.. but you read it a word at a time😅
BIG DADDY KANE GOAT 🎤 🎤 🎤 🎤 🎤
Kane was always dope to me.💯💯💯💯🦁
Pioneer!!! Salute King!!!
Big daddy Kane is my childhood . Crushed on him very hard . He's always been dope 🔥 Always have him on every playlist ! Long live the Kane !!!
Most underrated rapper of all time. His flow fits in any generation.
KANE IN NO WAY IS A UNDERRATED RAPPER HE IS THE DEFINITION OF WHAT AN.MCEEE SHOULD BE IN ANY FIELD OF HIP HOP JUST ASK EM WHO WAS ON THAT KANE SHIT BACK IN THE 80S💯
Im not familiar with alot of big daddy Kane music, but the couple of songs that I did hear sounds pretty good
He’s one of the goats
BDK one of the smoothest, that jacket is straight fire
Big Daddy Kane Ain't No Half Steppin word I'm ready
That was his lyrics‼💯💯🔥🔥🔥
That’s the beauty of hip hop when done at a high level.
Em is a true student of the game. He gives respect to everyone that’s come before him.
EVERYONE? Not melly mel
I’m 27 and Big Daddy Kane was my introduction to hip hop as a toddler. I remember back in the day at night the radio would have DJs playing 90s hip hop mixing and scratching songs live but the first song I remember as a kid was Ain’t No half steppin and i didn’t know the artist obviously but I knew I loved the song
I love the NON BITTER old heads... so awesome to me .
Two lyrical legends!
Another living legend right here.
I grew up on listening to Big Daddy Kane,my favorite rapper of all time, the best that ever did it.
One of the GOATs 🐐 Big Daddy Kane😊 he the dude.
Much Respect to BDK!! He is soo underrated !! Pure Genius
Kane is a legend and props to Em for showing his fandom to the great and the art form.
P what I admire about that is you had the gumption and courage to actually try it when I used to write back in the day I used to put that s*** on paper and I should be like people ain't going to understand it but now everybody gets it is fabulous.
This is called originality at its finest
One of the ORIGINAL multi-syllable spittas!!! 👊🏾👏🏾
Confuse and lose abuse & bruise the crews who choose to use my name wrong they pay dues_Big Daddy Kane that's my favorite Rhyme Scheme
They pay dues 🔥
#BigDaddyKane is one of the greatest MC’s in the history of Hip-Hop!!!!
"Come get some ya little bum"
Love Kane, dude is STILL MY NUMBER ONE RAPPER OF ALL TIME, :)
Kane deserves all the 💐 possible. 🐐
Always glad to see Kane
Big daddy Kane was the man he was my favorite rapper back then
BDK live is an experience. If you ever get the chance to catch a show you HAVE to do it. Man is gifted
The best pure lyricist of his time. Bar none.
Kane and G Rap did some crazy shit! 🔥🔥🔥🎤🎤🎤🎤
When he said those couple lines you can hear Eminem influence by this legend
Legend Of My Era ✊🏽👊🏽💯
Slick Rick should be regarded just ss highly as Kane and Rakim...
He is and others also.
Facts
Slick Rick is still top 3 rap story tellers of all time.
If He would have stayed out of jail Hip Hop would have kept its soul....At least have more of chance MC Ricky D is a Legend
💯💯
Seriously!Kane is being incredibly humble in this interview!Kane was a triple threat MC from 87 to 89 hands down!He had an assassin flow that just hypnotized the listeners!Kane has many classic sungles plus collabs but just one of my all time favoritee tracks still till this very yr 2024 is WRATH OF KANE! From beginning to end ot was lights out for any Mceeee that wanted smoke at that time!Or from 87 and 88!Raw the single that Kane dropped in 87 literally showcased how to rhyme syllabillistic word schemes to perfection at that time in hip hop history mind you there was the cream of the crop when it came to lyricists like Rakim, krsOne,Kool g RAP,PUBLIC ENEMY (chuck d)Ll cool j was a bonafide superstar after the bad album so like Snoop Dogg Ll was in his own lane cause he did the hardcore rap tracks plus love songs for the ladies and was versatile in many styles which is why he lasted longer than many of his peers Krs One as well but as far as star power Ll conquered all of his peers and the $$$ bag as well💯Kane on the other hand was considered by many from 87 to 89 to be the epitome of rap battle and rhyme structure multisylabilistic wittiness wordplay plus punch line perfection!Kane was literally killing everyone fashion wise pimp style with the trunk jewelry gucci link chains plus four fingered rings that others started copying and put their own flava to it like Ll cool j just look at tge pics how Kane influenced many mcs to even get flat top high fades with three cuts in the eyebrows Kanes influence at that time was unparalleled the only MC to earn more $$$ than Kane from 87 to 89 was Ll Cool J thats how deep Kanes influence and power was at that time from 87 to 89.Kane imo feel off cause he went too commercial playing the ladies man instead of continuing his craft and excelling it to new heights he was thinking about selling platinum status instead of Gold he wanted more commercial success he had the streets at the time on lock but the taste of chocolate was a big dissappointment to his hardcorre fans including myself at the time he was losing his swag the beginning of the 90s moving foward but always will remain one of tge greatest to ever bless a mic hands down.Kanes style like oding on heroin and tgen you needed another hit immediately after from 87 to 89 notice I mention those yrs cause Kane was a problem FR FR.Had Kane acquired a nusiness acumen in branding clothes and jewelry and did what Jay and Dame did with Rocafella he would of been a multi gazzillionaire at tge time of his reign no ands ifs or buts about it Rakim at the time as well💯I miss those days cause hip hop was truly HIP HOP and every artist had their OWN UNIQUE STYLE IN RHYMING TECHNIQUES not the majority trash that is imo more like pop hop in todays generation 💯80s is the Golden Era of hip hop and 90s took it to different dimensions while still maintaining ORIGINALITY which for the most part does not exist in todays hip hop tgeres only a few keeping it alive like J Cole and a few others but at the end of tge day I got to give flowers to Kane for being one of the greats that made other mceees step their game up lyrically as well as Rakim who actually was the first with paid in full album Kool g Rap Krs One Slick Rick and others of the 80s had a large influence on ALL YOUR FAVORITE MCEEES from the the 90s till now!The problem with today is the lack of putting difficult rhyme play into lyrics and being original having your own swag and not following a trend until that changes the majority of hip hop will remain trash for the most part and there will only be a few to keep the torch shining💯LONG LIVE THE KANE! KING ASIATIC NOBODYS EQUAL FOREVER💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Kane did it soooooo smooth!
Legendary Battle Rapper
That's why you're the BEST 😊
Ah Kane dope Mc one of my favorites
