- It was a warm and breezy day, perfect weather for opening day at Kings Island. New for 2017 is Mystic Timbers, a fast, fun wooden roller coaster tucked away in the woods in Rivertown. I was there for about 8 hours -- here the highlights. Filmed Saturday, April 15, 2017.

I was one of the first people there on opening day. They let gold pass people get in line for Mystic Timbers at 9:20 and I only had to wait 15 minutes to ride. It was also raining pretty hard, but at least I got to ride front row. The shed was slightly disappointing, but it was pretty cool to see the effort of theming.

KI is one of my favorite places...my single mother took us every summer...i have memories from this place as far back in my childhood as I can go...Hanna Barbarra Land and the original Bat all i can still see in my mind... in my 19th yr of age i went 6x in tht summer draggng a different friend w me on every trip...now in my 41st yr i plan on hittng as many CF parks as i can get to...i felt so overjoyed when Cedar took over this park...Paramount nearly ruined it and i w many others i believe are stoked about the past years and the future w this park in very capable hands...thank u for the vid bro...like i said...i love this park...it is part of my childhood bliss and will be part of my present and future for the rest of my life...i only wish i had a son and daughter to take w me and give them the gift tht my mother gave to me...have a wonderful coaster season my friend...

I was too tired to walk the park again to shoot the flats that night, so I decided that a view from the Eiffel Tower would be much easier. And I was right. Thanks for watching!

Another great opening day video for KI. I will be returning this June to KI for my second ever visit. I live in Pennsylvania to KI is only like an 8 hour drive. How long was Mystic Timber's line just out of a curiosity?
Opening day, Mystic Timbers' line was about 3 hours at one point according to a KI employee. I can't wait to get back to Kennywood and maybe visit some other PA parks in the near future. Have fun!
Amazing vid
I was there Friday night and I had to wait in a 4 1/2 hour line for Mystic Timbers because the line was like 4 hours, but when I was in the station, it broke down.
I got lucky and only waited two hours at the end of the night. Night rides on Mystic Timbers are insane!
I waited 4 1/2 hours as well, but I was able to get a night ride.

Of course I would! I was hoping that this was the year, but I guess we'll have to wait.
CoasterBob62 like any year from 2019-2022. I heard somewhere that KI is looking into one from either 2019-2022. Also, if you look behind Banshee, there is some land clearing back there, but I also would like a mix of a giga in the open and parts in the woods.
what do you use to edit?
I use the MAGIX Movie Edit Pro series. Many people hate it because it crashes and freezes a lot. I love it.

Ol' blue got stuck minutes after I arrived at the station to film, so I had to l abandon Racer and move on. I was lucky to get both coasters racing together that day.
Did you go to cedar point opening day?
I didn't go opening day, but I was there Sunday -- the weather was much better for filming. I'll have something posted later this week.

Did you have any trouble with security opening day?
They wouldn't let me into the park with a camcorder. Had to go through hoops with security for almost an hour. Finally got permission after being told not to attempt to interview anyone. As if I would bother.
Sorry to hear that you had problems. I had no issues that day getting through with 2 cameras and some accessories.
I had a hell of a time. Apparently, someone with a camcorder tried to interview someone else, and that person complained to security, and the head of security just arbitrarily said "NO MORE CAMERAS ALLOWED IN THE PARK". Never checked with Kings Island or Cedar Fair management whatsoever. They had absolutely no clue what was happening.
Anyway, I'm not sure we've ever met. But I think you know Peggy (pegravnkeeper) and her clan from Cedar Point.
Nothing really surprises me on opening day, but that's a new one. I can see why they don't want folks interviewing other guests -- that's what media day is for. But to ban everyone is a bit much.
If you're a member of Peggy's clan, I'm sure we've crossed paths. I think I see her every time I visit!
I'm not really a member of Peggy's clan. I just met her in passing, but I am in her facebook group. I'm not even sure she would know me to see me. I don't know what you look like either.
